Sup Forums will vote for Blanco's game, won't you?
It would make Blanco very happy.
Sup Forums will vote for Blanco's game, won't you?
Nice to see this game again. I hope you're green-lit OP.
I'm currently at 57%, which is really surprising considering its only been up for 2 days. I hope that with the help of Sup Forums, I can get it to you guys through steam
Good to see this again.
Sup Forums has a tendency to shit on devs who come here, though, even (/especially) if they're pandering to them. Don't get disheartened.
I like posting updates here since i get an honest reaction. I want to make Blanco a part of Sup Forums since that's where I started it.
I just voted for it, best of luck OP. The game looks amazing!
If we ever get a sequel, will it be called Negro?
Sorry man, game looks pretty charming but what I can see of the level design is a bit too linear point A to point B for my 3D platformer tastes
That'd be pretty funny
its alright. the levels change up in styles of progression. sometimes it's a linear level, sometimes it's an exploration level.
The music's nice, but the levels are too flat and the gameplay looks boring because of it. I think you should look at stuff like Super Mario 64 for inspiration.
I've looked at several. I was working on the basic layouts, but now I'm working on prettiness and details.
>Sup Forums being nice to someone
I'm not sure how to feel about this
I really like Blanco's design and the music, I just hope the gameplay is up to snuff
Cute looking game. I voted for ya.
fuck off i will not buy your game
here's your reply, now leave before blanco blows you up.
I really like how it looks, grassy and snowy levels could use some more detail though. They're too empty compared to the other ones.
blanco is thankful
Don't disappoint me when I play it OP
I haven't gotten to those on the detail process yet. they'll be improved drastically before any steam demos.
1. Ugly
2. Simplistic
3. Easily worse than 3D platformers that came out 20 years ago
No. Good luck on your game but no.
Fuck off shill
Just voted for your game user. I saw it a couple of times on dev threads, it looks amazing desu senpai. Best of luck.
Gotcha. Cheers user, it's pretty cute.
Something I think you should work on is thematic consistency in the levels.
Like in the Vegas level, the dice and the cards are a good start, but why are there big spikes o' death and the scythe wheel thing in a casino type environment?
Then don't play the GameJolt version. That one was made in like 2 days with empty levels. the steam version will be much better
I like how goofy looking the character is. I'll vote for it, OP.
They were just placed down in the outline process. during the detailing process, they'll be fixed to match up with their themes.
good stuff
thanks mate. I'll admit, you had me for a second there.
-LINK HIS BOUNCE WITH THE MUSIC BPM FOR EACH STAGE
-MAKE IT OBJECTIVE BASED SIMILAR TO MARIO 64 AND GAMES YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY TAKING INSPIRATION FROM
-FIX HIS RUNNING ANIMATION TO GIVE HIM A PROPER CYCLE WITH 4 FRAMES INSTEAD OF THAT AWKWARD TWO
-GIVE IT A PROPER SIMPLE STORY AND DON'T JUST MAKE IT SOME HALF ASSED INDIE SHITTER. MAKE THIS YOUR BEST.
THANKS OP. DON'T FUCK THIS UP
Did you replace all the SM64 animations yet?
His bounce is linked with the first level's music. It will be linked with the rest during the final development stages.
There will be objectives in the levels that are based on exploration.
The running animation will be fixed if it gets enough complaints. I might give it a story if I feel it should have one.
I'll probably come up with a overall objective during the final stages as well
all animations aren't linked to mario 64 anymore except for the kick, which has been changed to a "jump boost" to get more air in your jumps.
Make the story silly, like he lost all his friends' cookies or something.
don't pull a braid and make it somehow about the atomic bomb or some stupid shit
hell yeah nigga, all that sounds amazing. i'll be keeping my eye on it on steam. keep posting these threads too, this shit keeps getting better.
>actual shill
>nobody is shitposting about shills
I don't understand Sup Forums. Your game looks fun though
We only have a problem with shills when they try to hide the fact. He's being straight with us. Plus, it's cute.
The story I have in mind is that he wants to find a paint can to permanently paint himself his favorite color. (a question asked at the beginning of the game.)
If the developer is being blatent about his shilling, he is doing it out of desperation and not greed
Blanco is made by a Sup Forums fag and he isn't asking you to buy it. Buying is the major factor.
Deep
I had kind of assumed that he was a gameboy game character who suddenly became 3D, but that sounds pretty cute too.
That's neat
That's just a minor thought I had when I came up with his character. It might end up changing later in development.
that actually sounds cool. I SMELL FUCKING UNLOCKABLE COLORS MY DOOD
perhaps he gains new abilities with different colors? who fucking knows. this shit writes itself man
>50 Shades of Blanco
>Gradient effects as secret paints
Another thought I had was that depending on the color you chose at the end, when you restart, you can play levels that only unlock with that certain color, adding replayability.
cute
>mfw unlocking gold and silver blanco
depends on how long the game is, i feel. if it's short sure, but if it ends up being 5+ it might be worth it to just allow players access later in the game rather than restarting or whatever.
the game will probably be about 2-3 hours on the vanilla color. after getting your new color, it unlocks about an extra 10-12 levels
Y'know, at first I was a little unsure, but the trailers hooked it. This game just seems to ooze charm. Plus the music is pretty amazing, I could see myself casually listening to that vegas music. You definitely got my vote, hell I don't even use greenlight often.
I do have a question, Blancodev. If this game gets onto steam, and then releases, would you continue to support it past initial post-launch bugfixes? Would there be content/level packs, and if so, how would you implement them? Free updates?
i can dig it.
Is this how you get Sup Forums to not screech SHILL SHILL SHILL? Openly admit you're the developer of the game and you're asking for help with greenlighting it?
I can appreciate the honesty, OP, and hope more devs follow your example. Backed and wish you luck in the future.
...
fuck that's perfect
>be stylin' on niggas with a golden blanco
What happens if you choose white?
Does anyone use Digg anymore?
BAD END
Yes, extra dlc levels and modes will be provided for free after launch. I want to keep the players happy mate.
might not put white, but I might do it for the purpose of doing a complete reset or something like that.
would you ever include a level editor and make it possible to share levels via steam workshop?
I know that's way into the future but it'd be rad.
You say that now, but what will you say when you're sitting on a throne of cash????
A level editor is in planning, but that would be a really good idea. I just have to figure out how to create external files with the levels the users create first.
I'll throw you a vote OP. What price range are you considering?
I am a man of my word. Trust me. The game probably won't blow up anyway desu. I do this for fun, not for money. But i gotta make it cost something to make income. at launch it will cost a mere 5 dollars.
>More greenlight trash
Did you make the music for this game OP? It's pretty rad.
5 dollars at launch with free extra level packs and modes.
>5 dollars
Shit, I'll throw down a fiver for this. You've got my support OP.
The music has been made by me, and people online that have contributed music to the game.
Does Blanco have the deepest lore?
Are there any waifus in this game?
what engine are you using?
if youre into cute little white blancos, then youre in luck!
Unity
Will Blanco be able to wear cute hats?
Fine with that. Blanco a cute.
Are there any cool idle animations besides Blanco going up and down?
hats are going to be a cosmetic either when you get a powerup, or collecting enough collectables (not in game yet) not sure which one to do.
NPCs will have new idle animations. I have 1 NPC in game right now, but he has the same animation atm.
I think the game could use a lot more polish.
For example the arms' animation when running looks really weird. Right now it just looks like the right hand is flashing facing backwards and the left flashing forwards.
The music though is very very good.
Regardless, Greenlitted
kawaii desu
it's basically a 2 frame animation at the moment. I'll probably change it to a 4 frame, but I feel that the 2 frames gives him a bit of charm
What's a good level theme to put in Blanco? I've got ideas on a .txt, but it couldn't hurt to have more.
Awesome, you got my support
I've always been a fan of Egyptian/Arabian themed levels, so long as the music compliments it well.
I can see where you're going with the charm but the arms again are a bit jarring. Even having 3 frames would improve it.
Also his arms seems to grow 3x their size when running. I love the stubby little arms.
Beach areas are always comfy
Jungle/forest
City (concrete jungle!)
Library with oversized books?
Graveyard
School
A subway maybe?
Train level on ice
Lumberyard
I've got a pretty good beach layout going
Are there going to be bosses?
T R A I N

Bosses are planned, but I have to model them and animate them.
Well, I voted yes.
Good luck OP.
Have a poorly "rendered" Sharknado cast by a humanized female Cacodemon in a Spiderman suit.
good stuff Sup Forums
>Be artfag
>Actually put effort into the art I do
>Apparently it doesn't matter because Sup Forums are creaming themselves over this shitty looking trash
I hate this industry and I hate being an artist.
post art or stop bitching
>Artist
Is your art in a game?
We can't like/hate it if it's not in a game.
Also, Cute always sells.
Train level.
You can enjoy games that look amazing and simple looking games at the same time, friend, as long as you have fun playing it.
