They openly tried to start a rivalry with overwatch even though the 2 games are vastly different.

Marketing against and competing with Overwatch when they are two different games for two different demographics.

The UI and status effects could be neater, the writing it typical Gearbox affair, but there is a decent game at its core.

Honestly the $60 price tag. It should have been $20.

Game is fun. its better than overwatch. Its a good mix between moba and FPS, but nobody gave it a chance due to the price tag.

Not to mention the art style and how flashy everything is takes a little to get used to, but it doesnt take longer than a few games and if you get tired of hearing your hero say the same shit over and over you can actually turn it off.

It was another moba nobody cared about made by a developer people hated and is known for scamming money out of people.

I honestly don't think Overwatch did THAT much direct harm against the game, it's mediocre on it's own merits.

I don't think it was it's launch date. I think it was the Few days between Overwatch's public beta and release.

I actually play this more than Overwatch.

You know what the funny thing is? They were practically GIVING it away with Xcom 2 today on Amazon for the PC version.

Despite that, I got the standalone Xcom 2 during the flash sale despite the bundle only being about $3 more after taxes. Why? I can't be assed to play battleborn, it looks like shit.

The character designs look like early discarded concept art from a better game, like they just drew a few doodles and said "Fuck it, I'm done." It looks like a shitty Chinese knock off of Overwatch, and I'm sure that turned off most casuals who, due to only having a passing familiarity of Battleborn due to the Overwatch hype train, think Battleborn is just Overwatch's retarded little brother.
