It's not the same as with MN9 because in that case everyone just wanted another 2D megaman game that could have been like anything from classic to ZX.

I'll always have a soft spot for how ps2 games looked but I honestly can't believe that they were able to make it look like that.

Because mega man fans are like sonic fans and can't let their dead franchise stay dead. So they'll pay a guy who never actually developed a game to make clones for them.

PS2 is distinctive look caused by a higher polygon count, small texture sizes, no shaders or shit like normal mapping.

Also PS2 games always seem to have a darker, muddier look than Dreamcast games did (not sure if that's HW or just down to Sega's art design).
