JRPGs are better with female protagonists
WRPGs are better with male protagonists
JRPGs are better with female protagonists
No game is better with female protagonists you autistic sperglord. Also any game with an anime style is automatically 0/10, not worth shoving up your asshole.
alright Legendianon this shit better be good
I hope Velvet is an edgelord the whole game and doesn't overcome her hatred with the power of friendship.
she overcomes her hatred with the sexual advances and pleasures from a shota
all games are better with a female protagonist
>Legendia
Throw it in the trash my man.
Well that's OK.
OP is speaking the truth and you know it
Nope.
>non retarded protag
What a blessing. I should finish this game some time
That's only because WRPGs aren't allowed to have attractive females, not that they could make them if they tried.
90 percent of chink games with female lead are weebshit, so they're automatically shit.
He only seems sharp and observant because you're comparing him to the rest of Radiant Historia's characters.
Implying any Tales games post Vesperia are anything but mediocre garbage
Well that too but I'm so used to stupid protags being incapable of doing anything by their own that he still sticks out
Berseria will be different! This is the year Bamco redeem themselves
kek have fun with that meme game
>jrpgs
>good
I need to believe that this generation's JRPGs are going to get good at some point.
Agreed. Japan has, more or less, forgotten how to do good male leads. At least with a female, if her character isn't that good, she can always fall back on being hot.
>>>/reddit/
Probably because most male mc's are self inserts now.
Why they don't do custom characters instead is beyond me.
>animu design
>"hot"
what meme is this?
the meme of hot being hot
Whenever they try to do an MC that's not a self-insert or a generic nice guy, the shit never sells. I don't think they want good MCs anymore. If its a male, they want a character they can either relate to or self-insert into. Over the years, it's kind of sad to see what's happened to the average male main character in JRPGs/animu.
Games are better when they're good
But he's right tho
I'm actively stuggling to think of 10 JRPGs that have a female lead (and is the default, so you aren't choosing between a male and female)
>Tales of Berseria
>Xenosaga Trilogy
>Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
>FE Radiant Dawn
>Final Fantasy X-2
>Parasite Eve
>Legend of heroes: Trails in the sky
>Wild Arms 3
>Valkyrie Profile
>Altelier
>Neptunia
I had to really think hard to come up with that many
What happened to non-weeb jrpgs like Dragon Quest 8 ?
Well I Am Setsuna is coming out next week and it's meant to be like an SNES rpg.
I see you've managed to wipe the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy from your memory. Lucky you, I'm jealous. So I will remind you.
but this is weeb territory though
final fantasy on the other hand...
Technically Lightning is not the protagonist of the first game, it's an ensemble game like VI was. XIII-2 and LR you're right though.
It's really bad in Japan. Like how they changed old man Nier into a generic 17 year old saving his imouto. Like how scared are they if everything isn't completely by the book.
>It's really bad in Japan. Like how they changed old man Nier into a generic 17 year old saving his imouto.
Confirmed for having not played Replicant at all and just going purely by hearsy.
I think some of the earlier FE games had female leads, along with a few Nippon Ichi titles, but yeah they're pretty few and far between.
At least it won't be as gay as Zestiria.
Right?
hit submit too soon, but I wouldn't have been able to fit this probably anyway
The difference between Brother and Papa is far more than just skin deep. Brother actively likes to go and do all those dumb tedious jobs because he just wants to help, and it affirms his self-worth. Weiss even at one point says "God, how do you acually enjoy this?"
The biggest difference between Papa and Brother is that in Part 1, Brother is hopelessly idealistic. He is a stereotypical JRPG protagonist to almost the point of parody, but that's to show how much he changes. In Part 1 he's still a kid at heart, someone who believes that when you're home, you're safe from the evils of the outside world.
The thing is, Papa Nier doesn't change all that much between parts 1 and 2. He changes, but it's subtle because he had already been hardened from decades of living in that dying world. Brother was just a kid, andwhen the Shadowlord and Jack of Hearts took Yonah they didn't just take Yonah, they took Brother Nier's entire world. Those cheery views, his happy-go-lucky yet budding mature attitude, the opinions that drove him to believe in people, the comforting seclusion of his village and the reliability of the people within it. He can't handle it and he just breaks down into a shell of a person from what he was before.
He's left to grapple with a grim reality which he simply can't deal with. His failings take a harder toll on him physically and mentally in a more visible fashion as we can clearly see a change in his personality and appearance. He acts more violent, puts up with less bullshit, and is prone to angry outbursts. We clearly see how he's changed, he talks a lot more about how he's "going to kill every last Shade" and his life's goal is no longer just about protecting Yonah, it changes to killing Shades.
they are similar because i would not play a modern game from either genre
I thought your kind labeled anything from Japan as "weebshit." What does the word even mean now?
Graces was still OK at worst.
>What does the word even mean now?
Not him but I don't even know anymore. I mean a lot of things called weebshit never even leaves japan, to which I ask, what the fuck even is it anymore if only the nips play it? At least "otaku-pandering" is a term that always stays relevant.
Instead of gay shit we get pedo shit fuck this world
I've even seen "weeb" thrown around in Monster Hunter threads. The term seems to be turning into the western equivalent of gaijin.
I think it was always meant to mean "something otaku will play"
To which I say, why even bother with Japan at all if you don't want the wierder aspects of their culture?
I enjoyed the music, characters (ex pic), and story arcs, but the game play makes it unbearable to get through. Crap puzzles, random encounters, repetitive battle system, annoying monsters, and repeating long hallway dungeons drag the game's potential down to nearly unplayable. The only fun thing about the battle system was you can throw enemies after you knock them down.
WRPG are better with custom protagonists with gender selection in most cases because nobody can write memorable characters for shit.
JRPG are even better without a protagonist whatsoever and instead with a party from which you can pick anyone to play as. And switch anytime, of course. But almost nobody does that.
I put more hours into some of these games with girl MCs because the game clock keeps ticking while I'm addressing my boner.
Also no multiplayer when that was always a cornerstone of the Tales games.
>JRPG are even better without a protagonist whatsoever
Then who is the plot going to follow, unless it's an ensemble-focused game.
...
No RPG is good. They aaaall suck.
I find that infinitely preferable, bring on the doujins.
>/ss/
>fuck this world
You gay son?
>JRPGs are better with female protagonists
Yes, because JRPG fans are usually neckbearded, sexually insecure autists who need to confirm every 10 seconds that they are not gay. I cant explain why else you fucking permavirgins always throw such a tantrum because there arent enough girls in a game.
