I don't understand your point. Both are classic games as far as I'm concerned. Obviously they are one (or two) generations apart.

I like both, SH2 is better though.

Except SH2 has some good ass puzzles and the levels are really well designed. Plus it has tank controls which most of Sup Forums likes. I honestly can't remember much about The Last of Us and I actually enjoyed it when it came out.

If Naughty Dog wanted the game to be better received they shouldn't have paid critics to say it was "The Citizen Kane" of gaming

Most of Sup Forums likes traps and undertale, that doesn't make them objectively good.

Many old games dated poorly and not just looks-wise, take off nostalgia glasses and you see that the gameplay is shit too.

silent hill 2 had an incredible soundtrack. the last of us was pretty forgettable with the soundtrack. to me at least.

The Hard mode puzzles are pretty good. The clock turning puzzle in SH2 is at least better than RE.

Old SH games were designed for displays with scanlines. Screenshot don't give them justice.

SH 1 and 3 aren't bad, they're actually pretty damn good, but 2 was when the series was at its creative and artistic peak.

A lot of older games had much higher-res textures and effects on the disc, but the console wouldn't use them or they'd just end up looking garbagey. On emulators there's no such restrictions. Some games are just naturally pretty on emulators as a result.

I bet you never watched many horrors or thrillers in your life if you think SH2 is original. Psycho is a famous example of the hero being a mentally torture killer unaware of his deeds(though not responsible for killing the person he's obsessed about).
