Demons are mirages, all based off either monsters, classes, and characters from FE, or stuff from the entertainment industry (a fair amount of movie references, like a creepy clown enemy called Nicklewise). Even your companion FE heroes are mirages. You can fuse them with enemy mirages and notMacca to power them up and change the skills you inherit from them. Battle system is straight SMT, with a very heavy focua on team building which is prevalent in both series. The game also takes place in Tokyo, and the Idolasphere (other world) has a themed heavily on both the occult and digital themes, ala digital devil story.

Weapon triangle, 80% of the enemies being FE classes, all named villains being FE characters, character and enemy classes being right out of FE, most wepons being straight from FE, level ups being random rolls FE-style, heavy focus on setting up the proper team and exploiting weaknesses, FE characters literally all over the place, FE music and sound effects, FE-style reclassing. There is also the Arena, which is a massive version the the arenas in FE, complete with gambling money on increasingly tough fights for more money, exp, and prizes. The character side stories are also formatted as FE-style relationship rankings).

And that is not mentioning all the little name drops and other little references.

Oh, I'm playing on hard, I'm not complaining about the difficulty of the game, just about its animations. The difficulty's fine, with spicy bossfights and savage encounters that remind you to use buffs if you wanna life, yet still no hard concrete wall like the minotaur in SMTIV. And sometimes my hopes did rely on an unexpected session out of a Raging Stampede proc. But at the end of the day, since long sessions not only are free, but constantly grant you more loot and skill experience, even on ennemies you can clean in a turn, you can settle in a routine that could be easily shortened at the press of a button (like X), but no.
