RE0 might not be the best tank controlled RE, but I am still glad it exists.

There was a lot of shit I liked about it regardless, even if the story is a pile of shit.

Leech man was great, but otherwise the managements system and sometimes retarded ai made it way less enojyable. The prequel should've been a bout Wesker and his boyfriend Birkin.

I tried playing through Zero on the Gamecube, but got stuck because I don't know how to use the white and black statues.
Anyways, I also bought the HD version when it came out, but barely touched it. Which version should I play?

My main grievances are:

>the lack of item boxes (being able to drop items and pick them back up is nice, but doesn't make up for the lack of item boxes)
>reduced inventory capacity due to having two characters
>certain items taking up two slots
>constantly needing to switch to Rebecca so she can mix herbs and give them to Billy
>requiring the player to go back for the hookshot if they didn't know beforehand that they'd need it again
>the Eliminators pretty much being smaller and more annoying Hunters with a worse design
>Leech Hunter being less of a fun bonus game and more of a chore to get the rewards
>the weak story even by RE standards

And yet, despite all of that, I don't hate the game. It's my least favourite of the classic REs, for sure, but I enjoyed the game enough to play through it a few times. That said, I think I've gotten everything out of it that I want, and I won't be going back to it for a long time.

How weak we talking? No antagonists? A single side character who dies in the intro? Just 2 cutscenes, front to back, and the entire game is navigating samey-looking warehouses?

CV was great for shit like that.
There were all sorts of tricks you could do to make areas easier, or get around the map faster.

HD version is the same thing only it looks better.

The most interesting parts of the re lore before the mansion involved wesker and spencer. That's also part of why people loved him, through files you see how much of a keikaku master he is. Marcus almost came out of nowhere.

It also has Wesker Mode.

Because your enemies didn't mesh well with the existing ones, your story was weird and didn't mesh well with the existing story, and going back to the mansion felt like the series was going backwards.
