This entire year so far has passed by like a fart in the wind.

Gaming has been declining since the mid-90s when the fucking N64 and PS1 was released for a new generation of casual as fuck "gamers" that cared more about style than substance.

Agreed. The only game I ever played on that was Pokemon Stadium at friends houses and some Star Fox.

I was about 8-10 at the time of the 64, and all my dad cared to buy for our family was two PCs and a PS1 we all shared. My dad also raised me on several games, but the most memorable between him and I were Diablo 1-2, Warcraft 2, X-Com UFO Defense (iirc that's the 1993 one) and StarCraft when it came out.

My dad spent hours into midnight on weekends building maps together with triggers, like trying to recreate the Starship Troopers bunker scenario.

I never had a N64, and thinking back now, I'm kind of glad I didn't, because I'm thankful for the good games I got on PC, and great games like Syphon Filter and Final Fantasy series (with obligatory Crash Team Racing)on PS1.
