What's interesting though, is that the DLC was largely down to Sony Japan Studio with Miyazaki and a few other key From guys sitting in, so I'd be curious to know how much they brought to the table in the main game beyond the obvious code monkey skills.

I'm also dying to know what the next two From/Japan Studio games will be like.

Not as much as AOTA or Sunken King, but yeah, it's one of the best expansion packs in recent history. I would've liked more waking world levels, it's a bit disappointing that it takes place entirely in the nightmare. Also would've been nice if it made any changes to chalices, a new palette swap with DLC enemies and DLC gems or something. OOK is overrated, but Ludwig, Maria and Living Memes make up for it. The new weapons are all absolutely phenomenal. New music is some of the best I've ever heard in a videogame.

DeS really did have the best loading screens. Item descriptions are fucking boring. I think it's the main reason DeS had such memorable characters.
