What don't you like about them, user? If something's going to change your mind, Morrowind is one of the best (if you don't mind some of the gameplay elements), but maybe they're just not for you.

It's a very peculiar fantasy setting, to be fair. The politics and general atmosphere are what personally intrigued me. I mean, these Dunmer live in giant mushrooms, use giant insects to travel, they have an organization that's legally allowed to slaughter people if they're simply paid to...

I don't know. They're pretty but I never understand the story or lore because there's usually something about old gods and lore from previous games that I didn't play or books I didn't read.

You should play gothic 1 or 2 then. The are both better gameplay and storywise,and feel much more realistic. While a guy in a city in gothic tells you about his struggles to stay alive in a corruptcamp, morrowinds citizens will tell you about the divines and the meaning of life and whatnot.
