I would be if they optimize it and make movement/combat less clunky. It was a pain to just get around in the first beta.

Well, if it's properly maintained and repaired (replacing broken links is easy), it can last many decades so that helps. Link size/thickness and construction method (the weave - 4-1 pattern being most commonly used in Europe, material, riveted/butted/welded, tailoring etc) also matter a lot. Densely weaved riveted mail made from steel rings and tailored to the user is most definitely extremely labour-intensive, but not everyone used such superbly constructed mail.

It makes sense in that there's not nearly as many surviving documents as there's from Classical Antiquity and Renaissance (in a similar sense as hypothetical Digital dark age in which documents in obsolete formats become impossible to read) so there is appropriate use for the term (in this sense, early middle-ages were "dark") but using it to describe the entire time period is indeed misguided and has incorrect connotations

Misused or not, I used it in a context that is absolutely fine seeing as how chain mail has been around longer than the 1000 years in question. Whenever I think of dark ages, I use it interchangeably with medieval along with the imagery of knights, rolling fields, castles, and christianity.

no, you don't create your character from scratch. There's a story and a fixed character. But, it is an RPG so you will of course determine what kind of character the MC becomes. And despite that there is a story, it is open world and there are always various ways to finish quests especially side-quests.

Hold off on it for a while. The games won't be going anywhere, and by the time you have your things sorted out they'll be cheaper, user.

Kingdom Come looks like it controls like shit and I'm a huge fan of M&B and its sandbox gameplay so obviously Bannerlord.
