Fantastic waifus and bants.
>EA game
>on GOG
Bullshit
The last great Bioware RPG.
Something competent but boring
Oh wow, it's actually real.
They just unveiled three EA titles there. Dragon Age: Origins, Dead Space and SimCity 3000.
too much melodrama, brown, and boring enemies, but some fun characters and overall a pretty good game
Basically this
Don't play awakening it's trash and has too many elements DA2 had that made it shit
Half of the introductions are good
The other half is boring or shit
Tutorial is okayish and nothing extraordinary
First hours after that are pretty fun
Dwarftown is good
The tunnels below Dwarftown are long and boring as fuck
After that it gets better again.
Alister is a faggot.
Morg is best girl but that isn't saying much.
The DLC quests are pretty decent.
The DLC addons are pretty meh.
Overall its enjoyable but a bit too long.
It's also the last true Bioware game. Everything after that was either complete shit or hardly a game.
I'm thinking Dalish Elf for my first playthrough.
Which makes a better archer, Rogues or Warriors?
Rogues, easily.
Stack that Song of Courage for mad crits.
>Dalish elf
Good taste.
Dalish Elf as a class are interesting but the introduction part in the worst.
Not like City Elf is any better tho.
>Not like City Elf is any better tho.
>he didn't have fun cutting his way out of the arl of denerim's place and then gutting Vaugan like a dog
Bet you like the dwarf origins
>Bet you like the dwarf origins
Royal. Yes.
Poorfag Dwarf? No.
City Elf is great, that user is wrong, but Dwarf Noble is easily the best in the game.
City Elf's origins were pretty shocking the first time through. I really didn't expect my fiance and cousin to get grabbed up on my wedding day and gangraped.
That was a bit darker than I thought Bioware had in them.
>potent lyrium potion created
>potent lyrium potion created
>potent lyrium potion created
>potent lyrium potion created
>potent lyrium potion created
>potent lyrium potion created
>Royal. Yes.
>Poorfag Dwarf? No.
Fag detected.
Royal's alright, but I wouldn't say I loved it. Personal taste?
City Elf > Human Noble > Dwarf Noble > Dalish Elf > Mage > Dwarf Commoner
What makes you think so? I loved all the interactions walking around Orzammar, and playing politics was fun, but on the other hand being railroaded so hard left a bad taste in my mouth
Yes, I'm aware that's the point. I just didn't enjoy the origin as much as others because of it.
Sound... the retreat.
Just stay away from Morrigan, she's canonically my wife.
Play as a mage, it's the most fun class in the game.
The massacre is indeed pretty interesting and its good that you revisiting the place has a effect later.
This is why Dalish Elf is the worst origin. You just leave the place and after that nothing matters.
This is also the reason why Royal Dwarf Origin is one of the best if not the best origin story. What you do has a big effect on the maingame.
Besides that i like human noble for the same reasons but such revenge stories are kinda generic.
Alright, done fucking with my Elf's creation. Do you people use the default name, joke name, self-insert name or what?
I always take the default name.
source?
Human Noble can potentially be King though. Nothing trumps that.
gog.com?
-The same storie Bioware has been recycling for about 3+ games
-An incredible shallow combat system.
-Cringe inducing, stereotypical characters and dialog
-LE MATURE BLOOD EVERYWHERE ADULT NEW SHIT RPG-EXPERIENCE
-if you are a faggot: waifubait
Srsly at this point you might just as well play some trashy JRPG
...
Reminder that Bhelen was the best choice.
Yeah, that catharsis when you've cut your way to Vaughan through the viscera of everyone else in the castle is fucking great, though.
>he didn't play a qt elf grill
>This is why Dalish Elf is the worst origin. You just leave the place and after that nothing matters
The extra dialogue you get during the game is fucking great, though.
>This is also the reason why Royal Dwarf Origin is one of the best if not the best origin story. What you do has a big effect on the maingame.
That I agree with you about, but it still doesn't make me like the origin itself any better. Supporting Bhelen all the way and then crowning Harrowmont is funny as fuck, though.
Yeah City Elf is the best origin story
>elf
Just go Human Noble Rogue. Best fun you'll ever have.
>he didn't play a qt elf grill
Playing a twink Elf boi who gets NTR'd by a BNC (big noble cock) is my fetish though.
It's a solid RPG. The different starting zones for everyone are pretty solid, the and I was able to play it a few times through and have different enough experiences that I didn't feel like it was the same exact character albeit with marginally different aesthetics.
That said, the smaller chapters are WAY more interesting than the whole story. The combat can get a bit repetitive, and most of the armor and weapons look very bland, but there's some decent mods out there to liven things up:
The only three Origins that got me interesting in actually attempting to roleplay where Human Noble, Dwarf Noble, and City Elf. Dwarf and Human are the biggest, though. They give you a big reason to care about your character's situation and also roll it into the main plot. The City Elf does too, but much later as it doesn't reappear until you're doing the Landsmeet. I might just be a bit biased towards Dwarf over Human because my favorite playthrough was a Dwarf Noble.
Dwarf Noble > Human Noble > City Elf > Mage > Dwarf Commoner > Dalish Elf
>want to become king
>need to marry Loghrains bitch daughter
>want to become queen
>need to marry fucking Alister
I never became king in DA:O and i played that game like 5 times - With 3 of those being human noble.
Get a respec mod or all of your party members get worse the later you recruit them.
>Play as a mage, it's the most fun class in the game.
Objectively wrong, for the fact that most spells can't be cast with a weapon drawn if nothing else.
>Do you people use the default name, joke name, self-insert name or what?
Default names for males, I have a bunch of female names I love so I pick one of those
Nope, Prince-Consort. Only a femCousland can be Queen.
Another reason not to pick Anora, the bitch.
Pic related.
>An incredible shallow combat system
>Pic from VTMB
I married her once, but i kept fucking Leliana.
Fantasy Mass Effect
I feel that you should play it once at least, mainly for the architect.
>Tim Curry is your nemesis.
I get a bit autistic with names (in an RPG, not specifically this one). I actually look some up and find one that best represents my idea for the character.
Friendly reminder. LOGHAIN, did nothing wrong.
Didn't they settle this back when Inquisition rolled out since half the time they say King and the other half it's Prince Consort? I thought it was solidly King now.
storytelling is fun
interesting enviroments
good soundtrack
interesting plot
GAMEPLAY IS ABSOLUTE ASS SHIT
Anyone here ever fucked Isabella with Alistair?
this
Play as a girl wood elf and fuck the blonde templar
Oghren had a had life.
>GAMEPLAY IS ABSOLUTE ASS SHIT
Gameplay is okay. Certainly worse exists.
Also shit waifus
He did.
He wasn't wrong about the king being a complete fucking retard unable to achieve anything but just abandoning him and getting all those men killed wasn't a product of that - It was him wanting to avoid meeting his old Orlais enemies as allies.
>Who gives a fuck about dark monsters and dragons fucking up the land they can eat whoever they want just fuck off you Orlaisian niggers
VAE VICTIS
WOE TO THE ORLESIANS
Eh, it depends.
Best Choice: Dwarven Royal supporting Bhelen all the way until the very end when you crown Harrowmont
Good Choice: Non-Dwarven Royal supporting Bhelen / Dwarven Royal supporting Harrowmont
Bad Choice: Non-Dwarven Royal supporting Harrowmont / Dwarven Royal supporting Bhelen
Is sim city 3k good? I want to try a city builder game but I don't have the specs for skylines. Which one is the best?
I should have made him suck my blighted dick.
I would recommend elven mage, personally. Blood Mage/Arcane Warrior becomes an unstoppable god of war. Other classes can't compete. I can recommend spells if you're interested, otherwise I would say this:
Go Elven OR Dwarvish rogue for a rational character, or Human Noble warrior for an irrational (read: ruthless) character. Only make a warrior if you want to be evil, because their best specialization (Reaver) can only be achieved through the literal most immoral choice in the game.
Yeah, not as fun as with Leliana, but she has a terrific line if you run into him in II
>tfw can't have an IsabelaxLelianaxwarden threesome without hardening her
>Didn't they settle this back when Inquisition rolled out
Probably, the only Wardens I bothered playing in Inquisition were banging Leliana or Morrigan though, so I never noticed.
In Origins it's strictly Prince-Consort, though. Guess the Warden finally got on top of Anora in the end, eh?
**literally everything wrong
That's completely fair, since I'm biased towards my two favourite origins (City and Dalish Elf) too. I do love the added complexity the Nobles add to the game, from people you meet who know your family (either family) to the extra layers of interactions, but I still felt the same with a City Elf - playing as a girl who just wanted to troll shems was fucking nice, and the Alienage quest later in the game and during the siege of Denerim is terrific if you're a City Elf.
Plus, since I romanced Leliana, I felt like her and the Warden were even more suited to each other after I played Leliana's Song
Arcane Warrior + Rock Armor + Haste + Spell Shield + Death Siphon + Telekinetic Weapons + Miasma + Death Magic = Greatest tank in the game at level 16, and gameplay generally allows the player to be 18-22 by the end before Awakening. There is literally no reason to play Warrior when Mages have access to Arcane Warrior, especially since Mages can get Shapeshifter as a second specialization for +2 CON and +1 Armor.
>Which one is the best?
Super Nintendo version.
install the "skip mage tower" mod for your own good.
Something that's decent, but nothing special. It's mainly remembered because it was made by Bioware before they completely went to shit. With that said, I had fun playing the only worthwhile origin in the game.
This made me very uncomfortable. These are dark memories
youtube.com
I chose genesis that gen tho...
>Best Choice:
Exquisite taste, my friend.
>because their best specialization (Reaver) can only be achieved through the literal most immoral choice in the game.
Not to mention stupidest. Who even plays Warriors? It's Rogues for a partician, and Mages if you want a lark.
The fun of Blood Wound and Mana Clash aside, I prefer playing as a Rogue (ranged or melee, but usually melee) but that's just personal preference because I don't like having to stack buffs or cast all the time
>In Origins it's strictly Prince-Consort, though.
When the Cousland is asked to settle the dispute and choose who will rule Ferelden, two options (in different outcomes) both state that the Cousland will rule along side Anora, NOT that Anora would be the sole monarch and that the Cousland would simply marry her. The choices were for joint rule. That is how they were worded. Also, the Landsmeet agreed to whatever the Cousland chose, which means he is the full fledged king by Ferelden law and Dragon Age lore.
Anora can privately tell him he has to be her Prince Consort all she likes, but in the eyes of the Kingdom and all their vassals, he's King.
Besides, he's from the Cousland Teyrns, the second in line to the throne anyhow. She's a farmer's daughter.
Ultimate Edition doesn't actually have some of the DLC I think, plus there's all this limited-time only shit. Just go to the links the wiki provides and install them. I think A Tale From Orzammar isn't included
I married Alister.
I wasn't gonna pass up the chance of becoming a fucking Queen.
A Queen, user!
Why be a queen..when you can be a queen bitch?
...
3k and Simcity 4 are both good. Skylines is worse than both, so you're not missing out too much if you can't play it.
Oh, sorry, I wasn't implying that you don't get the ability to rule (especially because the Epilogue states you have as much or more power than Anora, which could very well mean a power struggle), just that I think she's a bitch for insisting she doesn't want you to be King when you're the one who put her there in the first place.
Setting her up to marry Alistair for her support at the Landsmeet, persuasion included, then letting him kill Loghain in the duel and fucking her off is just too sweet
>I married Alister.
>I wasn't gonna pass up the chance of becoming a fucking Queen.
>A Queen, user!
Only acceptable if you're actually romancing Hardened Leliana.
I suspect Alistair had a crush on Morrigan.
Fuck off Awakening was great
I refuse to play any DA games released after 2010 though
make sure to have these mods installed:
Morrigan Concept Art Edition Redux
HD Eyebrow and Stubble presets
Theta HD
No Ground Rings
AT Sten Face of Sacred Ashes
Universal Voices
Equal Love
Dalish Mage - Origin
The attractive Wynne
The Icons Project

Pineappletree s Vibrant Colors
Not necessarily Morrigan specifically, he's just super sexually repressed in general.
CHOOSE DWARF NOBLE
DON'T LISTEN TO ANYONE ELSE
>What am I in for?
the last good bioware game, hilariously edgy and over the top, great bantz, OP as fuck magic
Can you recommend some shields?
Anyone ever romance Leliana and Morrigan simultaneously? Their catty party banter is top tier.
>Morrigan: The way you look at him so intently, so hungrily... one would think you have never seen a man before.
>Leliana: Where I look is not your concern.
>Morrigan: True enough. There is no way I can deny you this... but why would he choose you, when he could have me?
>Leliana: You're confident for a woman raised in a swamp, far from anything remotely resembling civilization.
>Morrigan: And maybe that is my appeal? A woman like you, why, he could find in any city in Thedas. You think you are cultured? Worldly?
>Morrigan: Powdered, perfumed, you ooze elegance, but what man wants a woman who lies limp beneath him, frozen in place by the thought that she might ruin her hair?
>Leliana: So you're saying you're wild and uninhibited? I suppose he must like your shrieking, you sound like a genlock being murdered—a sweet, sweet sound to a Grey Warden.
>Leliana: You should try a little harder next time he takes you. I don't think they heard you in the Anderfels.
>Morrigan: Tsk, tsk, Leliana. Watch your jealousy, or you'll give yourself wrinkles.
>Leliana: Get away from me, or I shall have to take drastic measures.
>Morrigan: Resorting to violence. And here I thought you were civilized.
>Give her 99 roses
"user you a piece of shit, stay away from me you smelly bastard"
>Give her 100 roses
"OMG user YOU'RE SO GREAT, I LOVE YOU LETS HAVE SEXXXX NOW OMG"
If you pick dwarf noble and play it emotionally rather than logically you will permanently fuck up the entire dwarven kingdom.
Picking Bhelen is the best decision, Harrowmont will only result in social stagnation, revolution, and death.
yes in fact video games do work on a numeric system most of the time, very good.
eh, I was all about the revenge. Cutting his head off was pretty sweet.
>first mage playthrough
>can be a backstabbing cunt who betrays people left and right, makes deals with demons in exchange for power, helps old blood mages to condone their evil research in exchange for longer lifespan, fucks desire demons and witches, uses blood magic and dualwields magical swords
There's no other RPG that allows you to be such an edgelord mage.
warden shields
(if the Warden dumped Morrigan for Leliana)
>Morrigan: So he has chosen you. You think this is a triumph? Look at him... look at him and know that you will never truly have him.
>Leliana: Jealousy, Morrigan. Tsk, tsk... it is not becoming--
>Morrigan: You mock me, but when he is in your arms, in your bed, telling you he loves you, know that there will be moments when he is thinking of me.
>Leliana: Andraste forgive me, but you, Morrigan, are a bitch. A cruel, cruel bitch, and you will get your comeuppance.
>Morrigan: Perhaps. But even so, you know in you heart that I am right.
god damn so realistic it hurts
Game allow you to be and edgelord most of the time. It's fantastic.
this will suffice. thanks
be sure to add in Ignoble Dress too
Aw man, does Bioware even do stuff like this anymore, where depending which and how much a characters likes you starts otherwise hidden banter?
Because that's pretty funny.
This type of banter was in DA2 at least.
Not sure about DAI, i don't even remember much of a party banter in that piece of a shit game.
>only DA game I wanted to buy is finally on gog
Nice.
>Aw man, does Bioware even do stuff like this anymore, where depending which and how much a characters likes you starts otherwise hidden banter?
I'm not sure if it counts as 'anymore', but the bants are the best thing about DAII and they include similar variations.
I played emotionally for most of the game but used the Leliana romance to calm him (with him having a similar balancing effect on her), and he eventually decided to leave the kingdom in the proper hands. Having his bastard kid taken care of didn't hurt.
>Isabella teasing Sebastian by telling him that Hawke is a godly lover
