Xillia

Should I play as Jude or Milla?

Milla.
Jude is your average boring cookie cutter jrpg hero fighting for justice, while she is just having a good time.

Well sorry picked Jude.

Did research and hear he's a martial artist so was an instant choice despite my dick wanted milla.

Buy Aisha's game.

But it's shit.

You should probably just skip to xillia 2

Jude. You can alternate between the two anyway and the exclusive sections for Jude is a lot better since most of Milla's sections requires a playthrough to understand what the fuck is going on.

I was told Xillia 2 would be shit if i didn't play 1 so here I am.

Why would he skip to an awful game, the fucked up a ton of good things in Xillia.

Jude is a lot funner in my experience.
His artes are generally more practical for crowd control, which is good since the game throws large number of enemies at you constantly.
Milla has spells, but they get interrupted very easily.
I think there are a couple more boss fights in Jude's story, too. MIlla's solo duel is a pain in the ass.

I thought his name was Jyde?

Jude is more to play as

Like with any game with multiple protagonists, your choice won't matter anyway since you'll need to do a second run with the other character to understand the whole story

Milla's segment will be confusing as fuck at one point if you haven't played Judes section first.

If you mean which character to play as in battles Jude breaks the game only slightly less than Rowen. But the game is piss easy anyway so whatever

Xillia 2 is literally the best modern tales game with the best combat and GOAT bad ending.

Eat shit faggot

Xillia 2 has a worse leveling system, has the debt system, Elle and Ludger were awful, Ludger isn't even voiced for the first playthrough because it would spoil the big twist which is awful writing.

The ONLY good things about Xillia 2 is getting to kill Ludger and Elle, Xillia 2 should have been about Jude's Spyrite research or they should have branded it under a different name than Xillia if they wanted to use Elle and Ludger.

Plus the ex-dungeon requiring affection with people just to take them in there is stupid.

Most characters are useless due to the weakness-iron stance bullshit. Ludger is excellent and characters like Gaius are significantly less useful.

>muhh debt system

Literally nothing when you take out elite monsters

>falling for the tales of meme

Its padding, no it wont slow you down or cause you to grind excessively.

But theres literally nothing fun about the system. Its not like other games where you are gathering money and materials to build something and get a visual update of your actions or some sort of reward.

Its literally just give us money.

You should play Legendia with me

Holy fuck this game is so weird. Its exactly the shit you would get if you told a bunch of people who never played Tales before to make one

It makes having gald actually worthwhile in a tales game

Not like you could switch character when you fight.

The first Xilla did that better, you were pretty much always strapped for cash.

But even if they had literally the same system but had you spending the money to develop a town and have it change visually I would give it a pass.

But the other user missed out on bigger issues.
>No party swap outside of towns
>Asset reuse like hell
>Plot in general felt like a cash grab

I honestly don't even get what the point of the old cast was. Literally none of them had any plot signifigance outside of see where they are years later moments. The entire plot itself is "Ludger is a special OC Donut steal with the power to kill spirits and no one else can"

Doesn't change anything either way. You can switch leaders when ever the fuck you want.

Wasn't it made by the Soul Calibur team? So pretty much that happened.

>strapped for cash
>in xillia 1 or 2
I don't care about this argument, but you were never strapped for cash in either games unless you spent them over dumb shit. You should be swimming in money by mid game.

Legendia was good for half the game. Then you get to the half finished segment having you revist the areas and fight recolored bosses.

Also your sister was a shit.

Thank god for the Vesperia DLC. You did something wrong when an open chest vest is less gay than your main costume

Jude's is better first

Millas is better because she's 10x more fun to play

Do i really gotta finish Zestria to understand the new edge tales?

Edge tales isn't out yet so we have no idea.

Odds are no since it would be a moronic decision.

Tales of Xillia when the series started to go downhill.

Prove me wrong.

kill yourself. Xillia 2 was a mish-mash of a million piss-poor design decisions. While most people will say the worst of them was the debt system, the worst part was easily the changes to the combat. The super-quick recovery and massive hyper armor combined with the weakness system made it so boss fights were just one decades-long combo.

The only people who like Xillia 2 are the special kind of autists that want to combo for days but are too retarded to play an action game.

It started to go downhill from Vesperia.

The difference was Vesperia had a lot of content so all the costume DLC and blatantly cut shit like Flynn weren't as noticeable.

Graces was similar but more noticeable until it got F version.

Then you get Xillia/2/Zesty which were disgustingly rushed out the door and half finished.

Vesperia and Tales of Destiny Remake were the last good Tales games.

Graces F was shit and Xillia was even bigger shit.

Hearts R console port when?

Someday.

There are some story differences that make Jude better for the first time, as there are exclusive scenes depending on who you pick and Judes are a bit more central to the plot.

You can switch who you're playing as at any time regardless.

Also Milla is objectively the best Tales. The fucking best.

Why the fuck would you want to play as a guy?

*ehem*

...

>Asset reuse like hell

I don't understand this argument.
It's literally the sequel of Xillia set after 2-3 years or something. Lore-wise there wouldn't be much of a change in the world visually.

Xillia's combat system revolves around Jude.
Though Milla's far more fun to play as.

doesn't mean all towns, dungeons and monsters should be exactly the same.

*ehem*

I still don't know why people fellate to Graces F.

Literally "Keep exploiting weakness: the combat".
And then enemies could still Mystic Arte your fucking ass to the moon.

Yea man recolored bosses are exactly what people want when they hear the words sequel.

Nigger what the fuck does my post have to do with Graces combat?

Whether or not you liked it has little to do with the fact that it was long as shit and loaded with optional content.

pedo

Lore-wise it makes sense, but value wise, it feels cheap. There was pretty much the bare minimum of new locations in Xillia 2 that they could get away with.

Not that many game sequels reuse the exact same world in the exact same engine with such minimal changes to the degree Xillia 2 did.

Alisha is high tier loses to Edna in her own game though, but Milla is Milla tier.

No matter who you pick, Leia will always be best girl.

Decent.

You mean the girl who's only relevance to the plot was making sure Jude ate when he was sad Milla died?

Yes.

>Only relevance to the plot is making sure a plot irrelevant character eats
You could kick them both out of the game and nothing would change.

Rowen was the real MC to the game.

>Rowen was the real MC to the game.
Nah. It was obviously Elize.

Is Xillia 2 playable with touching 1?

I can get it cheaper than 1 for some reason.

It's not.

Rowen's adopted family was killed by the evil empire led by his best friend and brother to his love interest. Then he went to the other world to get revenge on them for tricking his best friend into that situation and them inadvertently "killing" off his waifu.

Elize was cute but 100% along for the ride and no real reason to be.

Rowen was literally a stereotypical MC but as an old man.

It is. Xillia 2 improves a good amount of the flaws with Xillia 1. Worth a playthrough at least.
