Does it count if this is the only SMT game I've played and it was for 15 minutes?
How's Pokémon Go going?
What didn't you like about it?
The amazing atmosphere, the gameplay, the not hand holding, the not easy Final Fantasy auto-save?
I didn't like that nigger in your crew. Will he die?
why is it "best game"? I'm playing SMT4 right now and enjoying it a lot more, guess I'm not really fond of dungeon crawlers.
also jimenez is just like walter.
I've played nocturne, smt4, strange journey, p3p, p4g, ds, ds2.
SMT 4 is a dungeon crawler too senpai
He dies first.
Ok, I'll pick it up again.
Well then it has the shittiest dungeons in the series.
No you won't.
Does it counts if I went to Ouroboros and then lost my save?
What is SMT even about?
You have to see for yourself. Demons and folklore from all world religions intersecting in an apocalyptic world and emphasis on alignment endings. I'd say emulate Nocturne or Strange Journey or play SMT IV.
it isn't first person at least
SMTs are RPGs that revolve around summoning demons using electronic devices. They often allow recruiting demons instead of fighting them, and fusing several demons to create a stronger one.
why is it so hard to grind in this game
get ready for demon negotiations
What do you mean senpai?
Fucking demon logic.
I miss just being able to recruit them by dancing furiously.
The electronic part is only sometimes true.
Is there a high res version of this cover?
As in, once you reach a certain level in a sector, you pretty much just have to go fight the main boss. I'm guessing it'd be easier if you level up just yourself and another demon at a time, but that'd take way too long.
Isn't Nocturne the only one where it's not the case, in mainline at least?
why is it even considered the best game? And that's coming from an SMT fan who completed almost every entry in the series
music and story's ok, but the whole demon alignment combo system is really weird and kinda threw me off
Oh, I guess if we're talking mainline then yeah
I'm in the middle of it right now. In Delphinus, just found the statue that I assume is the rosetta boss.
>Can't call yourself a SMT fag if you haven't play best game yet.
Oh no, a Sup Forumsirgin doesn't approve of my gaming choices!
persona 2 or DeSu are best smt
Maybe they like the dungeon crawling or the story. Also, Demon Co-Op isn't tat complicated.
I got to the hedgemaze like area and lost of save.
How close was I to the end? Not sure if its worth replaying again and trying to finish
I liked the radically different setting, as well as the tone, and all the side quests were interesting. That said I haven't played 4 which also looks very different from 1, 2, 3.
You still had a ways to go.
4 is good but you can save anywhere, so lots of hardcore smt fans dont like it
Soul Hackers is objectively the best SMT game tho.
SJ/Nocturne/IV are entry level games for casuals.
>lost of save.
Fuck don't fucking remind me. I lost it at the last fucking sector
I was playing SMT IV and then Kirby Planet Robobot came out and now I cannot remember what I'm supposed to be doing. I just killed the big bad lake demon in shinozoubu pond or something, and I have it's head.
What do I do now?
Does it have similar dungeon crawling? That was one of my favorite parts of Strange Journey. I want to play 4 but it's pretty much the only reason I have for getting a 3DS, and not sure it's worth it. The setting seems a bit unappealing but then I don't know much about it.
Soul Hackers isn't SMT
>Magnetite
Casualizing SMT was a good move
Persona 4 golden is best SMT game
I dunno man, the plot had me really interested and the way you swap to different characters living the last moments through them is really cool but overall the virtualised world is extremely shit and overall it's a bit slow and boring
Setting and characters are unique but dungeons are Persona 3/4 esque hallways and demon fusion took a massive step back because every demon can learn every skill so they lose all individuality and become portable movesets.
>SJ/Nocturnes
>For casuals
Man, I almost agreed with your opinion too. They're not extremely difficult but theyre anything but casual.
love this game but i'm retard that got stuck on Ouroburos second form because I threw a tantrum about not wanting to farm shit, need to try to beat it again.
if i liked this and Devil Survivor, would i like that new weird looking thing for Wii U?
I've played it a couple of times but never beat it.
Agh..damn, that sounds pretty lame. I hated the dungeons in P3/4 and those changes to the demon fusion system sound very unappealing.
Ouroburos was really easy once I figured something out but I can't remember what that something was.
are you a masochist
Yeah, it's hilarious every time SMTfags act like their series is operating at a much higher level than Persona when IV was such a mess and fucking Mirage Sessions and P5 have far superior handcrafted dungeons.
...
Why didn't they call SJ smt4? I thought I recalled they said it was smt4 when they released it back then.
I also read something where the creator said it was basically SMT4.
Where do you guys think SMT 5 going to be? Sony or Nintendo?
Are the persona games really good or are they just memes? All i know is that you have stands and you fight in dreams/dimensions or someshit and adachi is the killer. And the waifus
It didn't take place in Tokyo
If you like the story and characters they are great. If not then no because the combat and dungeons are just sort of there for the sake of it, although some of the boss fights are decent.
I don't like anime in general but I loved the story stuff so.
What if I like Anime and waifu? Is there really any dating?
If you like anime and waifu then you'll love it even more than me. There is dating yes.
2 reasons. One was it wasn't directly set in Tokyo, another is supposedly they didn't want a mainline entry on the DS/portable so they had to compromise. Of course after that with the way the industry went, that was no longer a problem with 4.
It is 3.5 though.
There is dating but also plenty of non romance characters to hear their stories from. It's hardly a "dating sim", you help the girls confront their problems then dick them in your room.
They're pretty fun. Persona 4 is a little campy but personally I liked it. They're easier than the easiest SMT, but theyre kinda nice in that regard. Try 2/3 first if you plan on playing 4 though
.Yes there is in 3&4
NX launch title
full HD SMT experience, whatever controller gimmick is the demon summoning device in the game
make it happen atlus
youtube.com
literally one of the greatest soundtracks of all time
It's gonna be on PS4 and reuse assets from p5
No, I just have a bad habit of not finishing games.
>full HD SMT experience, whatever controller gimmick is the demon summoning device in the game
Oh god, please no. Nintendo need to stop that shit already. I'll buy their handhelds even if they get shittier each generation, but for fuck's sake don't put SMT on a home Nintendo console. Please. Just don't do it, Atlus.
What do you think of SJ then?
How Sci fi is the game?
Does it play well on a phone?
Why not just play your Pokemon Go senpai?
Can't play it when commuting and I didn't grow up with the games to make me care about it.
It's very sci-fi. No idea how it plays on a phone,
If your phone are not toaster then I am sure it plays fine
I just bought this last week after emulating it and playing it off and on for years. Really wish it was a mainline console game. That music, them designs.
It runs 999 well.
Let's hope drastic will pull off some trick
Not hugely sci-fi. You've got your semi-generic futuristic spess marine military organisation with advanced tech, intelligent computers and FTL vehicles, but otherwise you're mostly fighting a variety of demons from different mythologies in zones that are thematic exaggerations of different parts of human history.
someboy took the "servant of god" too far
>Get to the final boss at level 70
>She instagibs my entire party in one turn
>Apparently I need to grind 20 levels to stand a chance at beating her
And then I said "fuck it" and watched the endings on youtube.
why do you care if it's mainline or not?
does that make the game less great?
or you could determine weaknesses and attack types and fuse a party with a type advantage, you know, like you're supposed to
Give 'em a try.
Don't jump over the first games, they're different from the later ones in a good way.
I don't know anything about SMT but I love that cover art
No I think it's a great game how it is. I just meant I wish it had a bigger budget with 3D models and areas.
Is it okay to ignore the whole alignment combo? Or it is going back to haunt me for my idiocy later?
I gave up in THAT FUCKING PLACE, you know the one, i am a failure.
If is the best game, more specifically the playstation version.
Have fun never ever playing it unless you get smart and learn moon like me.
>No I think it's a great game how it is. I just meant I wish it had a bigger budget with 3D models and areas.
Honestly, I missed the old Wizardry-esque early SMT games, so I liked that they made it that way. I do wish they'd make a full 3D Nocturne-esque come back for 5 though, whenever they plan to make it.
Just grab the map of dem warps.
It's worth trying for it, if you can. It helps quite a lot.
It's not easy with limited demon selection early on, but by mid-game at least it's worth having half to 3/4 or full of your team be the same alignment if you can.
The hedgemaze is a little more than halfway through the game.
Is too late, my save got deleted, i don't have the will to go back, gotta wait for FINAL instead...
That's because Persona games are more popular and sell better so they get a bigger budget and more development time. SMT has only been on portables for about a decade now and is now more niche.
Second SMT game I've played, after Soul Hackers. I mean I'd played Persona and some of the Devil Survivors before, but those don't really count.
Strange Journey is much better designed than Soul Hackers for the most part, but holy shit does the quality flip-flop at the final boss. How could they have such a quality final boss as Manitou and then follow it up with...THIS?
It doesn't help that I was expecting something mind-blowing for a finale and then was just treated to a rather generic demon overlord. It's almost as if making her hard as shit was a compensation method for how boring she is from a story standpoint.
What happened to the "SMTcucks" guy?
Was it actually barneyfag or what?
>p3p
>without playing fes
Way to fuck up.
You probably already know this but if you want similar Wizardry type dungeon crawling you shit get the Etrian Oddysey games
PQ is pretty fucking similar to SJ too.
Or he could just play the older SMT games. Or Soul Hackers. Probably some others too.
EO is a terrible dungeon crawler though.
The handheld thing was probably just them trying to cash in on the popularity of the DS since it sold a shitload.
It could still be the first person Wizardry type dungeon crawling and be 3D. Like Etrian Oddysey on the 3DS. I'd want it on consoles though
