>tfw no Dark Tower video game
Tfw no Dark Tower video game
Ys memories of celceta.
>Read first book
>Its about some fag going around and shooting stuff with Revolvers, literally for shit and giggles
>It keeps on happening
I kind of like it
No, but here's a Chinese knockoff
Make one.
What would the game be about?
You can expect one in a couple years if the movies turn out good/successful
>shota rape
>Doombots
>crazy trains
>furry killing spree
you are in for a ride
I'm thinking Journey with conservative gunslinging.
Just so long as it stops at book four I'm down.
You probably will get your Dark Tower game about the same time I get my Elric game.
The first book is absolutely nothing like the rest of the series
It won't. This series is cancer to anything but the books.
It would have to be an in-universe war or something. It couldn't just be the content from the books, there's nothing there for a game. It would have to just be some story that runs parallel or at a different time.
the movies will be terrible.
>black Roland
>NO Susanah or Eddie
>NO demon fucking or kid killing
>NO R rating
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>not liking Idris Elba
What is litterally discordia?
Not good though.
Ok WHAT IS THIS SHIT! Every time I try research on it, all I see is a retarded cowboy looking at a retarded tower.
Can someone please explain why everyone is on it's cock?
It could just be the book on rails, with silly objectives and good combat.
That's true. First book is god-tier, the rest is shit.
Is this book series worth reading, Sup Forums?
Hes a good actor but not for Roland. How are we going to have "Honky MAHFAH" in this movie?
literally nothing happens in first book
yeah but HBO series soon
I've always wondered, what's the breed of the blini cat?
Literally souls games. Limbo, repeating circles, lone hero, apathy is death, chosen one. We don't need another game like that.
if there was ever a case of a character's race not mattering it would be Roland
the second one is the best in the series senpai
It does if they intend to introduce Detta at some point.
Eddie and Susannah aren't in this one, it's purely the first book, they're going to wait and see how it does before deciding what to do for a sequel.
Odett can do plenty of cracker hating on the other white people and accuse Roland of being a race traitor
problem solved, use your imagination
it's pretty edgy shit, but it's ok if you like stephen king. Under the Dome is better.
>not reading stephen king's life work
But will they make her a wheelchair bound racist that literally gets off on stealing and fucking up white people?
sure, it's pretty good sai
That's a fact.
>but will they really stay faithful to the characters
I mean the answer is always going to be "I hope so"
>But will they make her a wheelchair bound racist that literally gets off on stealing and fucking up white people?
Maybe we'll get lucky and she won't be such a shit character.
>strong independent black cripple with three dozen mental disorders and don't need no man
Its some inbreed Russian house cat. Its not a proper breed, and that is what makes it good.
she's supposed to be insufferable, is Joffrey a terrible or great character for you wanting him to die so badly?
If only his blue eyes werent mentioned a dozen times a book
>black people never have blue eyes
user...and if anything that would make him more distinct and recognizable
No this is a sequel to the book, with Roland already in possession of the Horn of Eld, thus his journey to the tower may or may not be completely different.
He was bad because he was boring, like everyone else in the franchise. GoT is cookie-cutter low fantasy mixed with final destination. Only a couple characters have any meaningful development and you already know everyone's gonna die.
if anyone was wondering
It is a long running series of books by Stephen King about a gunslinger named Roland in a post-apocalyptic world, who is searching for something called the Dark Tower, but he doesn't know why he's looking for it. The tower itself is like the center of the universe that keeps everything together.
...
>Under the Dome is better
>it was ayy's all along
It started good but by the end all potential was wasted.
Wait, is that supposed to be Roland?
read the first 3~4 books, the others suck
Honestly, I would think that Elba seems like a pretty good choice for the role of Roland. I'll just have to wait and see how the movie turns out.
...
yes
Yep. Played by Idris Elba. Because let's just make everyone black!
Honestly, I think Wizard And Glass is the weakest in the series
Hell, I'm black, read the whole series.
When I first heard it was coming out and saw that Idris Elba was playing Roland, I fucking lost it.
Either keep in touch with the goddamn story or don't do shit at all, FUCK.
King was almost killed in a car accident and realized he could die at anytime thus never finishing the series, so he started rapidly cranking them out instead of taking his sweet time like the first 4 books.
I think he'a an okay actor but it'll take some sort of mind control for me to take him seriously as Roland.
Fucking right. This shit along with what they're doing to Hermione is just getting to be too much.
I'd agree with you because of how fucking drawn out it is, but it has some good moments (Roland with Cuthbert and Alain, some lore about Gilead, and Maerlyn's grapefruit shenanigans)
Wizard and Glass is a love it or hate it book. It has a lot of subjective things against it from being a slow burn book to being nearly all backstory. I think you're an idiot if you legitimately think it's worse than the final three though. That is an indefensible opinion.
Never read the dark tower, but talos principle has that erie mysterious feeling in a tall tower.
Long days and pleasant nights, Sup Forums
And yet social media was totally fine with it. "Roland's skin color isn't important to his character!"
McConaughey as the man in black.
Looks weird
but that's true, he's from a hyper liberal society
Honestly couldn't be happier. McConaughey is wildly likeable and charismatic. Him playing a smiley and full of himself bastard who wants to bring out the worst in people is great casting.
>blue eyed honky mafah is black
>jake is still a fucking white male
>still named dark tower, not african american valley
have some consistency, im so triggered right now
have some consistency
none of that is dusty enough
The point is that isn't a good reason to change something arbitrarily.
The ending was such a bullshit. Not to mention that "fight" with Crimson King
fucking this
doesn't look like the books at all
Not to mention it actually is important given Susannah's racist shit.
Post-drugs Stephen King is trash.
it isn't arbitrary when it has literally zero impact on the story
It's not like they're casting Denzel Washington to play Abraham Lincoln
This is the desert that is supposed to be the apotheosis of all deserts?
I would wait to see the finished product in this case. Mad Max didn't look as good as it did until the final cut because so much of the landscape was CGI.
Basically, they'll fix it in post.
>white male
it is the current year, jesus christ
see
If I remember right, the lands aren't all deserts and the scene with the succubus took place in a field like that one.
It is arbitrary. Whether or not it has an impact isn't important in determining if it's arbitrary. Arbitrary is the reason you change something, and this was changed for no particular reason.
>zero impact on the story
It does if they want Detta to be in it
Hmm For some reason I always thought that those books were like some kind of western wasteland like future a la Vampire hunter D.
That looks really normal.
do you get angry when tan people play egyptians too?
She might not be. This cycle takes place after the one we read in the books. Jake is back but who knows how closely they'll follow the books.
I loved Wizard And Glass.
The way it gives you information on what the world was like before it was completely fucked is pretty great and it just makes me want to read about more Revolverman adventures in general.
they straight up said her and eddy will be in the second movie if the first one is successful
just because it's a sequel doesn't mean they're going to leave out the most iconic characters/set pieces from the books
Anyone read this? Kinda provides some backstory for Roland and interesting lorestuff
I reserve my anger for properties I care about. I got upset at the Scarjo casting for GitS because I care about GitS. I didn't care about Gods of Egypt because I didn't care about the movie regardless.
The normal setting starts out as an old American west style wasteland and progresses through other parts of a dying world. There are parts in the real world, which might be what this shot is from.
>tfw Mistborn game is officially confirmed vaporware
;_;
I only like two Dark Tower books and that's one of them.
It's my favorite personally.
If only the fact that Detta screams at him and Eddie for being white honkeys the entire time after she's pulled into Roland's world.
>have an entire book consisting of a black character being racist against Roland because Roland is white
>said black character tries to kill Roland and Eddie because they're white
>entire backstory is about her living in a racist society
But hey, who cares if Roland is black, it doesnt matter.
Nothing matters at all.
Lets just make them all black gay demi queers, because who gives a shit about sticking to the original works.
>shota rape
>Doombots
>furry killing spree
I read the books and none of these things happen.
The final fight was shit, but I liked the fact Roland gets shafted when he reaches the top of the Tower and gets his memory erased for being a cold heartless fuck
come on man, besides Odett calling Roland honkey a few times it really doesn't matter whatsoever
As I said before all she has to do instead is call him a race traitor and the only argument for NEEDING him to be white is gone
Also Idris Elba is a perfect actor for Rolands personality, if you haven't seen Luther
Except for when the last book reveals that Roland looks like Stephen King himself.
