Did I get a good deal?

Did I get a good deal?

Should have gotten a fat PS3.

Not really sure what you intend to play with that thing.

Yes, I got my ps2 for 40 yuros, so you did better than me I guess

>Not really sure what you intend to play with that thing.
PS2 games?

This.
OP is a fucking idiot.

nah, people know the backwards thing so they price it higher. Just go on ebay now, starting $200. For a version that is know to get fucked up with YOLD

It's about what I paid for my ps2 slim, so I'd say you did all right. Some jagoff will say he got his for $2 at a garage sale, but whatever.

Now go out there and buy Maximo: Ghosts to Glory.

Your games will be scratched by the laser.

I guess if you really want to play those few games that don't emulate well or are collecting.

got mine for that price, and it came with 9 games. fmcb'd the shit out of it and it definitely feels like i got my money's worth

>Should have gotten a system that barely lasts a year and is massively overpriced for what it is, with no worthwhile games of its own anyway and the shittest Sony controllers of all time

Why is everyone being such a cunt in this thread? You got a damn good deal, user. Go get Jak and Daxter and Dark cloud. Good shit.

Get ready to enjoy hours of slow load times, muddy textures, and horrific aliasing.

>Why is everyone being such a cunt in this thread?
Sony fanboys like to chastise others the most, it's why they're so hated on Sup Forums.

What?

Almost as bad as Nintendrones

Does it have a modchip?

slow load times? lol, PS2 load times are seconds at worst, and usually barely noticeable. This is different than playing PS1 games on a PS1, which often had far longer load times. to say nothing of PC games from the 90s.

sounds like bullshit rumors to me. My slim doesn't do anything to PS1 or PS2 discs.

Some of the slim PS2s had a malfunctioning laser that scratched the discs. I got one for $20 and it had it.

Nitendrones and Xbots rarely attack their own kind though - the former is overly defensive of Nintendo's misdeeds whilst the latter consists largely of dudebros from the 360 era.

Neo-Sony fans are mad that the PS2 doesn't promote PS+ for you to keep giving Sony money.

>slim ps2
You fucked up
Get a fat PS2 with a network adapter and a hard drive with FreeMcBoot on it.

Because you're on Sup Forums. If you aren't posting about lolis or nintendo games the thread gets shit on. You should only come here to laugh at the nintenyearolds.

>Some
Really? Sounds weird. I've had a PS2 slim for many years at the very least and it's probably one of my most used consoles. And my discs weren't scratched.
If some are malfunctioned for whatever the reason then that sounds pretty bad. It's a great machine.

Get all the Ape Escape, all the Crash Bandicoot, and all the Spyro games for it.

Look it up, the slims had a problem with their lasers. Depends where the scratches are but they can near cut the disc all the way through depending on how the laser is.

I knew was I was getting into game wise just bought the system on a whim because I thought it looked like a great deal
Cool. the guy claimes it was barely used
Dunno what that is
Tryed emulating some games I used to enjoy back in the day and they had lots of issues.
yea I know bout that. bro has one. didnt want that
Plan on it.

>$40 for a slim
Not really.

For a fat maybe, slim? no.

Softmodding is the way to go with PS2s

Ps2, ya
Shipping, not really

$54.10 actually. And you think? damn I heard the slim was the best.

>this kills the waifu

If the controllers are new/in perfect state then yes, its a good deal.
Otherwise is so-so.

I got a slim for $14 over here.

Fat are better because you can use the HDD adapter and the softmodding is easier.

Yea the dude says its practically new he said it was sitting in his attic for a long time. He doesnt look like a reseller or anything.

>Fat are better because you can use the HDD adapter and the softmodding is easier.
Yeah, nah. Buying extra shit is not easier than simply loading games via the built in LAN port on the slim. And I'm pretty sure softmodding is no more difficult to what I had to do on my fat.

Eeeeeeeeeh....I've done better on ebay. It isn't terrible, but I have gotten slim PS2's on ebay for like $25 complete before.

133MB/s>10MB/s>4.5MB/s>1.5MB/s.

>Fat with HDD softmoding
>Just copy the files to the HDD

>Slim/HDD less Fat
>Normal softmoding

Play Jak and Daxter. Also Ratchet and Clank. Shadow of the Colossus is also good. You won't be short of awesome to buy, so look forward to that. As long as the thing works, you got your money's worth.

Ah I should do more research before buying I guess

>YOLD
>calls others idiots
kill yourself manchild

You already did the most important thing, now you just need to get a cheap 007 to softmod your console.

SNES and PS2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> every console and PS2 emulation is still iffy so yes, good deal

>should've bought a first model PS3
>but you didn't so you're stupid
are u 4 real?

Depends.
The slims are prone to overheating and cooking themselves.
Of course you won't know unless you plug it in and fire it up.

Wii = PS2 >=PSP>>>Wii U>PS3>>>Any other console

Vita/PSTV had it chance, but hacking scene is literally a joke.

is this true? I can't remember how many years since I got my ps2 slim and I still use it on an almost daily basis till today, are you saying that I could have burned my house all these years?

Thats retarded stop lying or show some solid proof

What part of look it up do you not understand?

It can happen but its not that probable.

Its one of those things that will happen to everyone but you.
If you are worried just clean your PS2, its not that hard honestly meanwhile you dont fuck up with the laser.

not enough to cause a house fire
but enough to desolder the boards and fuck it up

I imagine you look after yours, keep it in a ventilated area and not stacking it on other consoles.

Only the very first fat ps3s can play ps2 games, the ones with 4 usb ports. Hope you realize that

Buy a used S-Video cable or a new chink one?
>tfw TV doesnt support 480p

I lost track of when I got it but close to release date and has an ancient modchip that is not matrix, I don't stack consoles nor anything on top of it, have it hooked on a crt with other old consoles and cover it up with a mantle when I'm not using it doesn't get dusty, will my ps2 explode or not?

It wont.

It can happen but it doesn't mean it will happen.

my fat is modded too
the messiah 2 chip, got it done the same week I bought it

I'm surprised it still works

Missing OG Xbox but otherwise I agree with this.

Why is it the Vita scene is so pathetic?
The PSP had such an amazing homebrew scene.
The Vita would be GOAT handheld emulator

Because the console got actual security and there are no real hackers hacking it, only attention whores, theyre not even moralfags.

3DS situation was the same till some italians released some vulnerabilities and some cfw for the handheld.
Then the hacking situation exploded and stuff started being released.

In PSVita people only release screenshots and videos about stuff can be done but they never will release anything about it because "Muh PSVita can become the next PSP".
As if it were a bad thing.

Piracy was archived 2 years ago, you can load games trough wireless, etc.
Emulation is bad because they dont want to release exploits of the console too.

i got a used PS2 slim a little while ago too. I'm enjoying it. The left side of my slim is entirely glossy finish though

And there is no PSVita emulation because there is no documentation of the console.

Attentionwhores know they will stop getting money and attention the second they release something.

Holy shit, that's a 75001CB. It's the first model off the line. Worth over 2 grand! OP hit the jackpot.

...

Where can I get a ps3 for dirt cheap? I just want to play Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. That's literally it, and I don't have any friends to borrow one from.

Around $80 is the average I see from Craigslist and eBay, but I'm not paying $100 for two video games.

You didn't want free mcboot? You know you can play literally any ps2 game if you burn EM to a DVD disc with it. Cheaper and better than buying te games. It takes finagling but you can burn ps1 games too
