What difficulty are you on?

If you're on Hard then don't let the beginning hours let you down, it's RNG that mostly fucks you.

It will always be the demon in the first slot unless you release her. It's just simpler to not even fuse her anyway. Just level her up to a Queen Mab and use her as a heal slut until the final kalpa.

Make sure you are getting the superior experience by emulating it.

Buffs. Buffs everywhere.

Never let the boss get free moves. If you find yourself at a boss and have demons weak to his element it's better to just fight a man (or two) down.

Uninstall and play the superior game, Digital Devil Saga 1. Don't play 2 since its dog shit.

Be warned. There's some sort of glitch from emulating and you can't get any farther. Have to change your emulation settings. Some puzzle with elevators or something.

Remember to exploit enemy weaknesses whenever possible.

If you get stuck on a boss, then fuse some new demons. Grinding almost never works.

Aw fuck, I remember that. It's in the Assembly of Nihilo. If you can't go down a ladder, go to Config - Advanced, and set Round Mode to Nearest.

That's the only emulation problem with the game as far as I know.

The atmosphere might be the best in any game ever, plenty of cool locales coming up.

Music too shares a composer with the rest of the games in the series and is all just great. Like user said above DDS is a nice second game if you want more.

Buffs and Debuffs are your best friends

Just enjoy the game. If you get in a bind, rethink your approach and fuse new demons. The agility raising buffs and debuffs (sukunda, sukaja, fog breath) pretty much break a lot of the boss fights (IIRC) if you want easy mode

Didn't mean it was a pleasant dream, hah. Just the weird post-apocalyptic setting and the environments totally devoid of people. I dunno, there's just a lot of stuff that feels like dream-logic in the game?

The normal attack animation is so satisfying

I even like the menu sounds.
