How can Nintendo make it long lived?
When do you think the Pokemon Go bubble will burst?
by releasing 100 more pokemon when people get bored of the first 150
the bubble will never burst if they keep updating it.
Look at clash of clans, look at candy crush, as long as you give people a reason to keep launching it they will.
In 2 weeks they need some update. Or normies will get bored and flock to some new shit.
the bubble would take years to burst had nintendo intended to add a battle system, but it's clearly not the purpose of the game
adding trades though? wouldn't be that difficult and that would make the hype last longer
right now all this is is just a collectfest where you get shit to show off online; there's really not a huge sense of accomplishment
we all know it's just an excuse to go outside for most people, and it's a decent one
>that pic
Please be true.
Update it every few months with a new generation, add shiny Pokemon, etc.
Probably a year at best. Remember when normies were all about Wii and then they suddenly stopped caring about it after a year or so? Same shit.
Keep shilling it on Sup Forums
Until August. Or when they add other gens to scare normies away.
>nintendo
It will have lifespan of your typical twitter viral meme
It's already dead for me since the app hasn't even fucking worked properly for the past few days.
The tracker is fucked
>Remember when normies were all about Wii
People cared about Nintendo products passed the SNES generation? I thought only gay people and people with diagnosed autism cared about it.
When they add gen 2.
Wii sold really well. Casuals and grandmas loved it before the days of tablets and smartphones.
>game obviously unfinished
>nearby system broken so you cant even find pokemon properly
>servers going down every other day
>no bugfix updates at all since release despite all the bugged shit
it's amazing that it isn't already dead
I give it another 2 weeks
what if this game is the gradual learning curve that 'normies' need to make them familiar with the pokemon beyond gen 1
I think niantic aren't exactly adequate for a game this big, their hotfixes are slow and the games mechanics feel useless (ie. Nearby)
Apparently some faggot hacker group is planning to shut them down longer than last time.
Nintendo has fuckall to do with it, The Pokemon Company (which is 1/3 owned by Nintendo) hired Niantic to make it. Pokemon Go wasn't even on Nintendo's annual report. Besides, DINA are the company that are making Nintendo's apps, they're doing a Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing one according to the earnings report.
Are they seriously not adding a proper battle system?
The obvious answer is to release the other gens of pokemon but I don't think that's going to work since we'll probably instead just see a similar trend in popularity of the app as we did with the popularity of the different gens in the game, just on a smaller timescale. Gen 1 is by far the most popular gen and a lot of people playing GO right now are only really familiar with that, they're going to drop it in a few weeks and then they're never going to pick it up again no matter how many new pokemon they add.
I would settle for just being able to play. Doesn't seem to ever work from like 9am to 5pm for me. I drive around for my job and would like to look for stuff at the places I go.
>bubble
Pokemon go is no bubble. "Android" apps are the new way of making money and Pokemon is great for children.
I think the player base will split into PC and mobile gaming. You either want high graphics with no real social interaction or you go outside and play with others mobile games.
