What went wrong?
What went wrong?
Nothing.
the exact same thing that Persona 3 did wrong
Literally no close up of Chies feet in game.
kept the mediocre combat from 3 but made it even easier.
most of the characters are bad.
repetitive story.
annoying ass battle theme
>Worst group of characters
>Worst social links characters
>Worst story
>Better setting
>Better dungeons
>repetitive story
this doesnt even make any sense
>bad characters
ok youre trolling
They made a Persona game.
please explain how the characters are any good.
because they're mostly just MCs dicksuckers whose problem revolves around "XD you're not me, oh wait you are"
became too easy when they added direct commands
How do we save persona 5 in japan bro's ?
Added Dating paths to the female characters. I wish they would have just picked one character to be the "girlfriend" social link, that makes more sense than "Oh let me just be with everyone with no consequence." Rise for vanilla and Marie for golden would have fit perfectly, hell put both in and make it so they fight over you.
>cast is 75% cardboard cutouts
>no character development outside social links
>social links aren't reflected in the main story
>murder "investigation" is a joke
>none of your choices matter until the last hour of the game where they throw a ton at you at once
>none of the other girls are as cute as naoto
Dating routes were the ONLY routes in P3, I'm glad they gave you an option to not be a manwhore. I wanted to be faithful to my toaster.
>this doesnt even make any sense
Aside from beating up the shadows, your "investigation team" doesn't make any headway until the end. Nor do you you really successfully learn any new information about the case after each kidnapping either. You really just wait until someone gets tossed in, recuse them and suddenly you got a new party member.
Sure if you're paying attention you can come to some conclusions yourself but the team in the game are as clueless from the start as they are until you rescue Nanako. Hell the game could have made a bigger deal with Teddie's shadow but that's promptly dropped once you deal with it.
I didn't play Golden so no idea if this got addressed there.
Nothing.
To be fair FF, Pokemon, and Tales are extremely popular franchises in Japan. And knowing Atlus, 94k pre-orders are considered a massive profit already.
Main story is almost entirely the same except you run into Marie at the start of the game when you get off the train.
Everything.
Scooby Doo
Basically this.
Persona 3 was too successful so the sequel had to pander to the new fans rather than be an original and well made product in it's own right.
This is a common phenomena that you can also witness with regards to the first seasons of many television shows (e.g. Walking Dead, GoT).
>mediocre combat
I mean, it's not great but it's not as if P1 and P2 had amazing combat either. They literally played themselves. If you're comparing it to the PS2 SMT games, then sure, but as far as Persona's concerned, it's practically the best battle style in the series.
>golden ending song only gets a slideshow
>nanako costumes are dlc
and the weirdest part of the game for me is nanako's weird gremlin like posture while walking around
