Zero Time Dilemma

So I guess we'll never find out how Clover and Alice came back to the past from VLR.

Or Kyle.
Or Left.
Or the poisoned morphogenetic field.

Or any of the 287 dropped plot lines.

this game is fucking awful

Clover a shit.
Best girl thread

You're all shitters

alice > lotus > luna > diana > phi

prove me wrong

>this game is fucking awful

It's actually pretty fucking great if you go into it with the mindset that Uchi lost his fucking marbles and you want to see just how bonkers he's become over the years.

Did you just bump the competing thread?

i would, but (You) did it for me

I think they can just wake Clover from the cold sleep. At least I hope they do.

...

Alice is total trash and Lotus is mediocre. You're obviously just choosing by cup size.

You traveled into this thread using your shit abilities.

big tits = best tits

I'm Brother.
LAWWWWWL.

modest tits are best tits

we've gone off topic

That's not the Clover stuck in the VLR moonbase who is wondering how to go back to the past.

She could always just SHIFT back to the present bod.

And Alice?

I'm sorry but now I have to destroy your ass with my axe, you traitorous son of a bitch.

The same thing. RESONANCE lol

I already told you, my motives are complex

...

Is it that hard to understand? They used the alien machine to clone them to the past it's pretty obvious.

999
>beautiful pixel art
>good writing

vlr
>decent 3d models with minimalistic animations
>decent writing

ztd
>shit 3d models american tier animations
>shit writing

And now there's a confused Clover stuck in a moonbase wondering what the fuck just happened.

but who was termites

>Zero Budget Dilemma
>Zero Camera Dilemma
>Zero Meme Dilemma
>Zero Times Three Dilemma
>Baby Zero Dilemma
>I'm Zero Dilemma
>I Never Asked for This Dilemma

>alien time fax machine

Did Uchi get super high when writing shit one day, and then just NEVER proofread anything?

>>beautiful pixel art

Only the backgrounds are good. Sprites are fucking shit even for DS standards.

>Zero Meme Dilemma
objectively false

It can't be a happy ending for all Clovers

Life is just unfair that way

Kyle.

>Zero Meme Dilemma

Man, these fantastic memes are the one good thing to come out of this game.

Clover is the best!
I remember when only a few people could shift, and you needed two people to utilize the morphogenetic field. Good times.

I feel like people didn't catch one of the sub themes of the game was what it means to travel through time. The shifting, cloning, quantum computing, and mind hacking were all different ways of accomplishing the same thing. I thought it was sort of a neat philosophy thing going on.

>2 worst characters from VLR
I can't believe anyone actually gives a shit but they obviously used the transporter, Akane is a shit as usual and made it seem like they would be going back themselves.

I really liked the game until I finished it and came here. Now I'm pissed off and want my money back.

>his mind hack ability is NEVER used outside of demonstration

What was the point?

unless you're telling me he mindhacked every decision in the game to force all outcomes for his plan

>vlr
>decent 3d models with minimalistic animations

Oh I am laffin'. As shitty as ZTD animations were, it's still a step up from the shit VLR had.

>but they obviously used the transporter
are you retarded?

No, the animations worked better in VLR. The models were better in ZTD though.

>ZTD models
>worse than VLR models
The animations are also technically better but only because you have to compensate given how ZTD is fully animated, so it was stretched thin. Only the faces are significantly bad

he just watched the prestige

>I care about the graphics!

ZTD target audience everyone.

Guess reading is bad too, at least now you got fully shitty animated sequences you can turn into memes.

Kys

He(or the player) mind hacked Diana to choose to betray at 13:30 and the Acid shower because Diana would never do those things and she doesn't understand why she did it. Also that ending where he hacked Eric to kill everyone because fuck why not.

Are you?

>spoiler
That's exactly what happened. The Execution and Decontamination scenes where people say they "don't know why I voted/pressed X" was Delta MIND HACC-ing them to do something they didn't want to.

Not every decision, but some of them. Remember when Diana chose to ignore the Gabletter and execute Q team and didn't know why?

Mind hacc.

Why would Akane have the transporter in the first place?
Why would she conjure Sigma and Phi from the past to train their minds for mindjump when she could just fax old Sigma back to the past, or even better fax the fucking Axelavir to cure radical 6?

...

He mindhacked to force out of character decisions to create more timelines.

>999
>>good writing
wew
It's serviceable at best, nothing astounding.

at first i avoided these threads because i didn't want to get spoilered, but i knew this game was going to be shit when junpei was introduced as an edgy teenager and when he mentioned the morphogenetic field within the first 10 minutes of the game.

Bad writing.

They were, except they were all either grounded in some sort of real science or they were led up to.

>Shifting
Basically just the evolution of ESPer and the morphogenetic field, which were both elaborated on and alluded to in depth in their respective games.

>Cloning
A real life science application that has already been used in a previous game after having been alluded to with FTS's massive amounts of followers and Alice's kidnapped father.

>Quantum Computing
A real life studies and a theoretical occurrence, and a gradual extension of Shrodinger's Cat.

>Mind Hacking
A bit of a stretch, but Brother was already known to be able to read minds and touch the minds of others, since he was so in tune with the morphogenetic field

>Alien Time Fax Machine
No alluding to it, no foreshadowing, and the official explanation is literally "aliens lol".

Everything else, even Mind hacking, felt at least a little grounded in the game's reality. The Alien fax machine just comes across as a deus ex machina.

Because Akane's a liar and she's probably working with Delta

That suddenly makes a lot of sense.

Complex motives

Truth is that she was probably working with Brother since she even went to the meeting

In universe, no one fucking knows.

In our universe, it's cause Uchi's a hack.

are the puzzles at least fun? everyone is complaining about the plot, no one talks about the puzzles

Akane collaborating with Delta in the VLR timeline actually makes way more sense than the alternative.

I found them to be a lot easier in ZTD than the other games. I thought they were still fun though

Hit-and-miss.
I enjoyed most of them, but there's also the lowest amount of puzzle rooms in the series. 13 compared to 999/VLR's 16
There's also not a single puzzle room on the True End timeline.

They're okay, not as good as VLR but better than 999's. Not enough of them though, and the game sorely lacks a final puzzle room. There's a lot more mini-game stuff which seems to be divisive.

Why is Airy so hot in that forme jfc

what poisoned morphogenetic field?

Not really.

They're all really easy. The transporter room one, supposedly the hardest one in the game, is the only one that requires non-linear thinking, and even then it's still pretty easy.

Honestly, the hardest part in the puzzle rooms is occasionally having to play "find the pixel", which gets REALLY bad on the 3ds version and kinda bad on every other version.

The puzzles were easy-Professor-Layton grade. Figuring out what to click on in rooms was the harder part

I just finished and I have some questions

>Why does Q get his name retconned to Sean? I understand that's his real name but how does everyone retroactively know that?
>Why the fuck did Delta never appear until the very end if he was supposedly there the whole time? Was he just not a participant? Which team was he with? Why did nobody acknowledge his existence at all?
>Why doesn't anyone care that Mira is a confirmed serial killer? Why doesn't Eric care that Mira killed his mom?

Daily reminder that people only like 999 because they had to replay it 5 or more times to get the trtue ending.

Literal brainwashing

I'd think it would be funny if Sigma and Akane forgot about them like they forgot about Kyle. Just All Ice for an eternity.

From the Wiki (which is paraphrasing Dio's and Akane's explanation of Brother in VLR)

"Brother has a mysterious special power, described as being able to "touch the thoughts of other people and see into them".

Unfortunately, it left him constantly exposed to the negative and corrupt side of humanity and all of humanity's worst aspects. This fueled Brother's misanthropy and disgust of humanity.

Brother realized humanity was being severely brainwashed and these contagious toxic thoughts were poisoning the morphogenetic field, like a cancerous consciousness. He realized this led to all kinds of negative emotions (impure thoughts lead to impure manifestations in reality, and impure manifestations in reality lead to impure thoughts, like a vicious cycle). He also realized this brainwashing dated back a long, long time - more than hundreds and thousands of years - since time immemorial. This explained the poor current state of humanity in his lifetime - all of the genocide and wars.

Of course, Brother could also read the hearts and minds of children and saw their purity and innocence in comparison to adults. Unfortunately, Brother saw the same toxic poisoning of children's consciousnesses as they grew into partially corrupt teens and then into corrupt adults."

Basically, in VLR Brother was being set up to be a well-intentioned extremist who wanted to save the Morphogenetic field via whatever means necessary. In ZTD, he got Zig-Zagged into "always the good guy", and the poisoning of the morphogenetic field was brushed aside and never mentioned.

Delta is Q, not Sean

I just finished the game, but I didn't understand anything. What should I play next, VLR or 999?

Q was always used to refer to Delta, never Sean, Sean was only ever called Sean.

I thought being able to memorize and abuse puzzle solutions to get through rooms faster on subsequent playthroughs was a cute meta touch. Still obnoxious even with fast-forward on an emulator though

>played ZTD without playing any of the others first

Go full retard and play them all backwards

ZTD > VLR > 999

Okay, so why up until that point was everyone calling the kidbot Q?

>Transporter Room
>Ok, Base-13 converted to Base-10, easy enough... now what?
>Have to click on the middle of the nucleus
>No indication given whatsoever

>Robot Room
>Have to click on the specific button that resets the timer
>Have to click on the single fucking pixel that detects as "having pressed button"

If the puzzles were better, I could have maybe forgiven that shit, but that was fucking awful.

ZTD is fun. I don't think people will argue that. What people argue is that it was a shitty way to end the series since it left so many plot holes.

They weren't

They didn't

Nobody was.

Not sure what exactly your first question is asking, but Sean never gets referred to as Q.

Delta is participating with Q team, but bad writing makes it difficult to figure that out. There is actually a tonne of hints that there is a 4th participant in Q team, but there is just way too many contradictions.

Bad writing, who the fuck knows. Delta makes he participate, kills her in one timeline, and lets her go free in the ending.

Like the files say, Sean is never actually called Q by any of the characters. The player is just being tricked by stuff like the artbook calling him Q.
Delta is mentioned by the characters, but he's never onscreen because you, the player, are seeing through his eyes.
Cause Eric's a loser

any other good games like this? 999 started to go full retard with nonmelting ice, but the premise and the rest of it was cool, overall

I really like this genre. radical dreamers is still one of my fave games

I guess start with 999 then VLR but at this point whatever

They never called him Q, they knew he was Sean from the start (well, at some point between the coin flip and the voting). Delta was in Q team and everyone knew him as Q the deaf old man in the weelchair.
>Why doesn't anyone care that Mira is a confirmed serial killer? Why doesn't Eric care that Mira killed his mom?
Her tits were too great.

Because it was a misleading Narrative.

No one called the kid Q ever. Anytime they said anything about Q they were talking about the Blind/Deaf man in the wheelchair that was ALWAYS JUST OUT OF THE CAMERA'S REACH.

Yes, it's a completely bullshit twist. Even worse, there was no reason for him to be there, since his mindhacking works from a distance, and there was no interaction he had with the teams since he was fucking blind and deaf.

No, there's no real way to defend this. Uchi probably stroked out.

So Q team had 4 participants in every timeline? Or was Sean not part of the decision game?

They didn't. You just thought they were.

You're seeing it through his eyes, which see it through his glasses, which see it through the computer, which see the world from a third person perspective. That just makes it all the more retarded that Delta doesn't appear in front of the camera.

The stupidest thing about the Delta always being Q is that delta had no reason to call himself Q in the game. The name Delta is just as valid to be used, but he changed it to Q so that it'd fit the twist. It's literally only so the amnesiac gets a one letter name (at least from the players point of view). Like, even if we just assumed Sean was called Delta, nothing would change and it would keep the twist the same in for the player, actually making it more mindscrewy. But it's because they wanted to think the amnesiac didn't know his name that they Delta is called Q

Infinity Series (Ever17/Remember11)
Danganronpa
Higurashi/Umineko
Steins;Gate
Ghost Trick
Root Double

I've played almost none of these just been collecting the answers from whenever people ask this question in this thread, check them out I guess

i'm beyond mad

Google ice 9, snail. Fits the themes of the game like the other science/philosophy/etc. discussions in the game

And what do you like: the puzzles, being trapped in a blah, death games, science gone wrong, time travel, all of the above?

Eric was super suspicious of Sean specifically because he shouldn't be there, his name wasn't connected to the x-passes. I think they accepted him as a stand-in for Q who they thought was too handicapped to properly participate.

I've heard Root Double is extremely mediocre

Yes, sort of, he had a watch but only Mira, Eric and Q gave X passes

Killing Sean does not give an X-pass.
