Why are people so shocked with how Gohan turned out?

Ever since the beginning he didn't like fighting and wanted to be scholar and now he's grown up into a family man scholar who doesn't like to fight.

Gohan only trained because he had to, for the Saiyans and Androids. He only wanted to fight in the early Buu saga because he thought his dad was only back for one day and wanted to show off/bond with him.

Especially after the BoG stuff with Goku and Vegeta becoming Gods there's no point because it's not something you can catch up to with just training and he doesn't want to because he cares about his career.

He isn't just going to blow off his family to train like Goku because unlike him he actually enjoys being around them.

So, is Xenoverse 2 going to be way better than the first game? Or is just going to be the same game, with 12 new characters and 2 new levels? All the trailers make it look like the later so far, aside from some lighting, particle effects, and gui.

I'm typically all for more options, but martial arts are the core of DBZ. If a gun can keep someone on the same level as these magic martial arts champions, something is off. That's a pretty big noticeable difference from Dragonball. Thugs toting guns became completely irrelevant.

What would Chi-Chi even teach? It's not like she has any unique techniques of her own.

That's the DB game model, it's always been that way. Expect Xenoverse 2 to be missing some stuff still upon release, to be added in DLC or perhaps even Xenoverse 3 come 2018. Thankfully they're reworking some of the retarded design decisions from 1, like RNG loot and stats tied to cosmetic gear.

Gohan was given all the potential in the world to be an amazing fighter, and most of Z focused on that. The scholar thing brings nothing of value to the story, it has no purpose at all outside of keeping him like pic related. So seeing his character nearly become one dimensional, when you know he can be better than that, is frustrating.

He doesn't like to fight, why should he dedicate his life to something he doesn't want to do? He's not Goku.

The Dokkan characters are exclusive to Dokkan festival summons.

I don't care that Gohan became a scholar, but it's just shitty writing to make the strongest character the one that accomplishes fucking nothing in a show about fighting. It's obvious that fans weren't happy with how the Cell saga ended, so the series shifted gears back to Goku worship for the rest of its existence.
