Nah, he was the community manager for a while and he got shitcanned for whatever reason (layoffs I guess) but Sega decided to bring him back. Allegedly he made it a condition that he could be a memelord on twitter and be more bantzy in general. I'd say it worked out quite well and is probably one of the best decisions Sega's made in a long time.

Now if they could just make a Sonic game that's better than just passable we'd be in business.
