I just found out about this game the other day. Why don't we ever have a nice thread about good indie games? Has anyone else played this? It's not quite as good as Super Ghouls n' Ghosts, but it certainly fills the void left by capcom.
I just found out about this game the other day. Why don't we ever have a nice thread about good indie games...
Yeah it's a good game. No one talks about good indies because most people on Sup Forums are casual faggots who only know about games because they are advertised to them. It and Volgarr The Viking really scratch that Ghosts n Goblins itch. I honestly liked it more than Super lack of difficulty aside. Hydorah and Curse of Issyos are good too.
I haven't heard of any of the games you posted. Thanks for the tip user.
Locomalito is probably the best indie dev of my country.
maldita castilla is his only game worth a shit
Man, you reminded me I had this in my backlog. I managed to reach the forest boss before I lost all my lives - how far is the end from there?
I had a lot of fun with Volgarr the Viking too. The alternate levels and their limited attempt mechanic is really neat.
Not gonna lie, I keep dying at the harpy boss. I keep trying but i'm so impatient and have momentary bits of retardation and forget which button does what and jump off the wagon.
>do the alternate levels for the first time expecting them to be a nightmare
>have so much experience with the game's mechanics, traps and enemies thanks to my regular playthrough that it only took a few attempts before I managed to clear it
Rewarding as fuck
I always die in the swamp area it's insane
Without spoiling it, what happens when you continue more than three times and the reaper takes your soul? Bad end?
But Hydorah and The Curse of Issyos are fantastic.
And Gaurodan is a decent little distraction, and the closest I've ever seen a game come to actually feeling like an authentic retro game.
I really wish we can see more of these type of action platformers that rely on a more methodical approach to obstacles and deeper understanding of how your character works.
I was talking about Volgarr but yeah, you get a bad ending and don't get to see the final level
It sometimes happens to me too when I play on keyboard. I can't play platformers without a controller anymore.
I know, right? That extra stage is a bitch though, good thing you can easily stock up on lives when you know the game.
I read that the games had multiple endings, so I guess it's something like that. Can't tell for sure, I didn't beat it yet.
Gigantic Army is like that since you're controlling a pretty slow and unwiedly mech. Steel Strider too although to a lesser extent since the game is more fast paced.
Anyone played Mibibli's Quest? It's a strange kind of ride.
It's free too.
Yeah the final level is the reason I couldn't beat it on my second try. Doing those precise jump slashes when you're nervous as fuck is a nightmare.
No, i've never heard of this one. I'll check it out.
Anyone ever play Warning Forever? It a fun little bullet hell.
forgot picture.
>indie shmup from 1995
>still one of the best of the entire genre
no one "talks" about indie games because discussion only happens for like the first week of release, then people move on to other things.
shit has already been discussed to death, you missed out. get over it.
No it hasn't, why are you lying? In fact a lot of quality indie games get absolutely 0 attention from Sup Forums on release. The only games that do get discussed are heavily advertised meme games like Undertale and Hotline Miami.
