The foundation and general idea of the game is solid, but it needs some revision before it can great. I think the overabundance of Charlie was a symptom of a game that's a just little too centralized, so a jack-of-all-trades like him becomes master of a few. They could leave him as-is, fix the minor problems with the game that need fixing anyway, and I think everything would be fine.

Daigo vs. Tokido was the best match of EVO IMO (though I didn't get to see a lot of top 32) and is probably what the game was designed to be, glad I caught that amidst all the schedule fuckery that delayed Killer Instinct.

Cool moves but too hard to get from one side of the screen to the other. It's like rock em sock em robots. Move close, Rock Paper Scissors with attack and block. Jump backwards. Jump forwards. Random special move. It's 2d too much.

It's a good game, but it's ruined by two things for me;

- HORRIBLE NET CODE. One sided rollback is unbearable, and it happens way too often.

- STUPID LOAD TIMES. I have a ridiculously good PC, why do i have to wait like 60 seconds between each game with a friend, or to get into training mode, etc

I miss 3s so much. I'm really sad they didn't release that new version of it on PC... sad that it'll fade into the abyss.

EVO this year was boring as fuck, the matches and the games themselves aren't all that great

proximity normals FORCE options. either you get the Far HP or the Near HP, you can't pick both. I'd much rather have both moves available to me, except make one a command normal, which is pretty much what SFV did in every case where it made an actual difference.

and what the hell do you mean by "add combos", there's nothing intrinsic in "this move changes depending on distance" that creates more combo opportunity. All I can guess is that you're thinking of how you use to be able to hit a few LPs in there before doing other shit, or the rare occasion of linking a close version of a normal into its far version. The former is pointless jabby nonsense that doesn't add anything, and the latter is easily accomplished by command normals like I said earlier.

What a bizarre thing to fixate on as a criticism, even if the rest of your points are valid.
