How much do you tip the guy behind the counter at your game store? I usually tip 20% if they're really fast with their service but if they make me wait I only tip 10%.
How much do you tip the guy behind the counter at your game store...

I usually only tip if it's a girl
Usually $5
I usually order a side of crab legs with my game purchase, and tip 10% of the total. The only thing is, I don't know if gamestop uses frozen or fresh.
i usually top them $5-10 if they helped me pick out a game or recommend a good game.
If I know what i want and just buy it, I dont tip
>tipping anywhere that isn't a restaurant or hotel
What retards.
not funny, just being honest :/
>If I know what i want and just buy it, I dont tip
c'mon dude, not cool. don't be that guy.
I usually tip them my change back which is usually just a couple of cents.
I'm sure they'll enjoy the stick of gum or a jawbreaker they can get with that.
ye ok
>not tipping your barber, garbageman, and doctor
>tipping at a retail store
I'm an American, and even I think this is ridiculous
You know, these things are funny when they sound somewhat plausible, like no singles policies.
This is just blatant shitposting and it's not even funny for the people pretending.
Fucking Americans and tipping - it is built into our economic system.
>living on tips
please get with the times
GOOD GOY
Not as ridiculous as clapping at the end of a movie in a theatre.
How much do you guys tip Gabe after you buy cards on the marketplace? I usually send him about $1 for every badge I craft. I like to rub the dollar bills between my buttcheecks and send them by snail mail.
>make minimum wage doing labor
>go out to dinner
>expected to tip the waiter for doing their easier job on top of their minimum wage
Explain this
I go to the movies at least once every 3 months and no one has every done that.
This is awful. I've read so much stupid shit these past few years I can't tell if OP is joking or legit retarded.
It's actually quite common here in NC
I work at pizza hut as a cook and sometimes we get fucking tips from carryout orders
like
I mean
I appreciate the money
but what the fuck why?
>working at pizza hut
Believe me, it's out of pity.
I don't tip because I'm not a fucking moron who needs his plate carried around or some shit
Has happened to me numerous times. Most notably Batman v. Superman and that last Avengers movie
They tip me and I tip them back.
They get paid less than minimum wage, tips fill in that gap
> go to buy cigarettes at a 7/11
>cashier guy puts a tip jar on the counter
>he starts a monologue "conversation" about how it's so hard to pay for bills at minimum wage
>I say "yea"
>leave with my death sticks
Wait you do what?
Americans are fucking weird.
Do your local gamestops have a pen for your falcons? My local one does and it's really great to relax after going to the theaters and not have to drop it off at home
>make minimum wage
>go out to dinner
Explain this
I don't pay $900 a month in rent
Source?
Most waiters and waitresses don't make minimum wage in the states, they make about $4.00 an hour, to compensate for their tips. And don't kids yourself, some places require some admirable memorization, patience, and speed to serve at.
I've legit made american tourists pass out from exhaustion while tricking them into an infinite tipping loop
I'm American and I've never heard of this
>you're not allowed to go out if you only make minimum
>tipping
>ever
>tipping a cashier
Fucking who does this? They have a salary, there's literally no reason to tip them.
>you're not allowed to go out if you're poor
ftfy
I generally like to keep a tipping loop going until the universe implodes.
...
I only tip when they suck my dick dry, otherwise no.
I know this is a joke but, in real scenarios they are getting paid to do their job, I don't need to reward them with money for doing a good job at their job, this isn't a video game or social media where everything you do needs to be rewarded, it's a job, you work hard and you get paid, you work lousy, some else gets your spot.
Its like that black bitch crying to the principal about their university being a home, that they are family, no, you dumb bitch, you go to learn and get your degree not to set up camp in your safe space.
In the US I see this "Food Insurance" used a lot, where if you don't pay you either don't come back at all or you'll get your food spit on or worse, you guys are fucking mental, literally blackmailing before you even meet the person, some service.
That game is Need For Speed™ Carbon if anyone was wondering.
Reminder that tipping culture is a meme invented by corporations so they don't have to pay their employees.
I know this thread is bait, but tipping your barber, not some cunt hair stylist, but a real old-fashioned barber is expected, but garbagemen and doctors get paid good money.
I don't think I've ever tipped in my entire 29 years of life
I tend to tip 10% as a minimum out of courtesy. I usually give cash because gamestop employees tend to not have bank accounts
If the guy is really cool and knows a lot of vidya I'll tip 20 - 30%
However you won't see this behavior outside the US. I tried tipping in a used game store in Japan but it wasn't customary
>cashier
>salary
>pick one
This
Tipping is literally cancerous
it started as a courtesy "hey thanks for your good service" and now its "you better tip because I'm expecting one even if I didn't give good service"
>order game from amazon
>no way to tip them
How much do you guys tip Gaben when you buy something on steam?
In America workers aren't paid by the companies, they are forced to work because they have hundreds of thousands of dollars in college debt, that's why they all keep crying about slavery.
So additionally to the price of the product you need to give the worker some money so that he doesn't "accidentally" break your product or something, he has no interest in doing a good job and will starve to death if he doesn't threaten you into giving him some money
That's how you know every time you see someone complain about DLC it's an American, who wouldn't want more content for their favorite video game but they have to tip the digital cashier EVERY SINGLE TIME
I'm guessing the local gamestop employees give out angry handy j's in the storage room?
Only retards do that.
I get tipping a waiter at a restaurant but I don't understand why it's scaled with the price of the meal. It's not any fucking heavier. A $5-10 tips should be enough for a dinner of 2.
I give them 20% of the tip of my dick if they are female, if they are male I only give them a 10%
>In America workers aren't paid by the companies, they are forced to work because they have hundreds of thousands of dollars in college debt, that's why they all keep crying about slavery.
Yea because its the company's fault you CHOSE to take on thousands of dollars of debt you had no way of paying back
tipping a fucking cashier? more news at eleven??
Well of course you're gonna run into a bunch of autists at a comic book movie
I was outraged when I found out about this. I think they need to put up a mandatory tipping policy for orders online orders above $5.
The restaurant will reimburse them the difference, and they almost always exceed that anyway. You're being cucked.
>paying extra when someone does his fucking job
I dont get it.
>the restaurant will reimburse them
then prompty lay them off and fire them.
I mean if you literally can't pay for a thing, then yeah you're not "allowed" to have it
Yes, they legally have to be paid the difference.
If you're consistently unable to cover your own wages because you're unattractive or whatever, they'll fire your ass and hire a qt who won't have to worry about tips.
>the food is made before you would even reveal a tip
I don't think you get it
Its well a known fact?
I pay for the food as the price on the menu prescribes. I can afford that so I go out.
>went to a restaurant to get some take-out
>give them a 20 for 16.80 of food
>"Do you want change?"
Yes I want my fucking change back
That shit certainly never happens in Raleigh
Have you never worked in a restaurant or known anyone who does?
you're 29 years old and still browsing a video game imageboard ? that's fucking sad
Please stop spreading this misinfo, dumb millennials.
How mad would you be if they just pocketed the change as their tip, without asking?
I'd demand to see a manager because she literally stole money from me
>tipping at a funeral
wtf
Surely a well known fact has a source to back it up?
Waiters and whatnot actually get a lower salary than reasonable with the reasoning "they'll get tip anyway so it'll will compensate".
But really. A higher salary and no tip would still be preferable.
Tipping culture hurts the employed.
>Giving tips to vendors for buying things they sell and already get paid for selling
Are every amerifat this retarded in that fucking retarded capitalist whorish country?
This isn't my rebuttal but are you not american by any chance?
Or just don't tip.
Yeah but you apparently can't afford the service having it brought to your table. You should stop going to places where that is a thing
I am not.
>the service of having it brought to your table
no thats not obligatory, I'm not required to leave a tip.
I hope this is bait
>Are every amerifat this retarded
>Are every
Why can't I just get up and collect my food from the kitchen counter myself?
You're useless.
Guys I was just in England and I didn't tip the cabby because I was in a rush and I wasn't mentally prepared for the situation. Does he want to kill me?
I'm not familiar with countries outside of america or their culture but I don't think actual tipping is a thing in other countries.
In america, tips make up a significant portion of a waiter's salary. The law in the US and in certain states allows employers to pay less than minimum wage so long that tips make up the difference so that it comes to at least minimum wage or better
>wanting to get fired over stolen change
That's right, I also play video games and drink alcohol and talk to people outside and at work
shocking I know
I've been to a few restaurants where the waiter is optional. As long as you have your ticket showing what you ordered you can pick up your food from the ready window yourself, or have a waiter like normal.
Look you faggots, I'm pretty sure we would all be happier if servers' wages and correspondingly food prices were increased so that tipping would no longer be necessary. That said, if you currently go to a restaurant and don't tip, you're an asshole (unless it actually is a decision based on receiving poor service).
They did it at the end of The Force Awakens. It's the only time I've seen it happen that I can recall.
hey I'm not judging but I'd fucking neck myself in your place
You'd be surprised how many people do not give a shit about some change, even if it is several dollars, if you're in an affluent area.
You can always tell who the entitled older white males are by whether they think servers should be tipped. Any millenial and anyone who isn't a complete piece of shit would only not tip for an actual bad display of service.
This is just one of the many character traits of old white males that show much they're ruining every country they inhabit.
>work fast food
>expected to make half a dozen sandwiches for one order in under three minutes
>don't get tipped
>meanwhile waitresses only have to bring you a plate of food, memorize the menu, and refill your drinks, and they usually suck at all of that shit
>get tipped
I see.
Here the employer pays the waiter in full. Tipping is nonexistent here.
