Gonna start pic related
First time playing, Going in as a Dwarf Rogue, anything I need to know before hand?
Gonna start pic related
class kits like bounty hunter are much better than pure rogues and thief/mage dual class make a good combo
I just rolled a 97, what'll happen if I take all points out of widom/int and just put it in the other stats?
Overpowered-as-shit characters are Edwin, Keldorn and Valygar, get these for your party if you have a hard time. Find illusion skill you get as a rogue is better than any spell, level that shit up. Don't sleep in the streets, something nasty oculd bite you.
then you get assraped by mindflayers for having no int
Start with the first game and not this one.
If OP hasn't already played BG1, do this.
BG1 aged like milk desu, i think OP would enjoy it more if he likes the BG2 and alreadyk nows all of the ins and outs.
Am I missing out that much by not playing the first one? Story wise I dont mind too much, I just wanna get a nice RPG fix
>Not importing your character from BG1
>aged like milk
The games play nearly identical. BGTutu makes it even easier to play. Kill yourself.
1 had a worse UI, but the re-release fixes it up a bit. 2's still the better game though
also always keep SOME sort of acid or fire damage options on you, no matter how small, at all times. if you don't know why you will
You'll be fine
It's a whole different type of game. The first game is mostly exploring many different areas on your own without prompting. When you move on to the second game, you are at such a high level that the tasks that you did in the first game are no longer appropriate, so it changes to a more railroaded, story focused adventure. They are both fantastic games for different reasons, but I think I would have missed out on a ton if I just skipped to the second one.
Bullshit, first one is much more lowkey with open world while BG2 focuses on quest hubs, high fantasy and dungeon delving. Maybe play it again without the nostalgia glasses you humongous retard.
what about ps2 games dark alliance 1 and 2? are these worth playing? how different are they from pc games?
they carry the name but aren't like
good
they're just shitty diablo clones pretty much
>first one is much more lowkey with open world
>aged like milk
????
so DA is like diablo clone and BG on pc is like dnd shit neverwinter nights, dragon age origins etc?
The second one has higher production values and better sense of direction do to having less things to do.
should i go with enhanced remakes of 1 and 2 or with old ones?
>shitty
They are diablo clones but they are fun.
Yeah, on PC it's an RPG. The other games you mentioned tend to be shittier derivatives of BG though.
Well, you can't buy the old ones any more, but if you were to acquire the old ones and then install Baldur's Gate Trilogy, that would be better than the enhanced editions unless you want the terrible new expansion for the first game.
Some people will tell you that the enhanced editions are better, but in my opinion they have some really nasty UI options on by default and don't add anything worthwhile to either game.
Pirate the gog version of old ones, fuck Beamdog.
