Fuck the Tortanic memes, I loved it for the past 4 years or so.
But with the new xpac announcement for this fall and they are not adding any new raids or group instances again I feel the magic is gone.
>Fleet barely has 100 people on during primetime on my server >group finder groups are impossible to get, even as a healer or tank >"pug" raids for the daily are normally done by the few small guilds that are left standing and rarely invite outsiders >market is out of fucking whack, 55m credits burned out quickly just trying to gear alts alone >the new story focus gameplay is fun exactly once and hard to justify paying a subscription for it now
I want to quit, but I cannot stop. How did you all quit MMOs?
Try playing another genre of games, and realise there's way more to gaming than MMOs, and that MMOs are actually pretty narrow
James Torres
you are blessed, the ability to be satisfied by something as bad and cheap to fund as playing swtor, some people have chased mmorpg addiction across every single one and never found it. you have reached true nirvana, and yet you wish to descend back to the squalor of our mortal earth?
Eli Martinez
Sometimes I think my life is a Truman Show and people like you are hired hands to keep me playing.
Gavin Perry
You quit, you just log out and you don't go back.
Don't go "Oh I should do this or that to prepare", just stop.
You have an addiction and you will feel better after a few days of not logging in.

>play and love swtor for years >starting to get boring because KOTFE doesnt bring new group content >R6 Siege comes out >playing Siege since release
I want to resub after all chapters are out, only for a month to play them. They dont bring new group content and thats retarded, the game is literally a subscription based singeplayer rpg.
I loved flashpoints where you and others could chose what to say and overall they were great and everything.
KOTFE is great apart from some retarded shit where your Stih Lord/Jedi knight character just get pushed around by random faggots.
Connor Jackson
Speaking of stupid shit >rolled a commando last week on Harbinger to see the population >3 instances of fleet during primetime >get to the point where I can do Esseles >they added solo mode options to all flashpoints >do it >later level 15 >que up for a random flashpoint >get Battle of Ilum as a level 15 Needless to say, I was useless. Any level can get any flashpoint now
Joshua Lewis
yeah they made a lot of dumb choices with KOTFE
tfw i still havent played through Trooper and Smuggler stories. they just dont interest me
Elijah Cruz
>not wanting to being the biggest smartass who is the second best galactic pussy raider that is the male smuggler Back when TOR had its own general in /vg/ they got together to see who gets laid the most. Male Agent > Male Smuggler > Female Smuggler > huge dropoff > female agent. Also Ruffian Scoundrel best spec. Stealth, DoTs, lots of pistol action. Reminded me of my days as a smuggler/pistoleer in SWG
Parker Brooks
Stop playing
Download an emulator or some old games you never finished.
Get to work on your backlog.

Look for a different game I guess.
I used to love Aion, which is another mmo everybody disliked. Once mmos stop receiving major updates for months people begin to lose interest and move into something else untill new content is added. It's a sad feeling to see the games you like to become ghost towns, but it happens.
James Watson
Run out of money
Lucas Carter
Well, it's a pretty complicated process, but basically:
1) Stop playing 2)
Henry Young
honestly most found it a long time ago during ultima, EQ, vanilla WoW and then lost it so it feels even more shit
Ayden Ortiz
>how do you quit mmo I literally stopped giving a shit i have 7k hours in WoW and i just said fuck it. im done and never logged on again
like i do nothing all day but since i quit mmo's i feel like i have so much more free time and less stress
Anthony Phillips
ToR was fun as fuck at release. It was like vanilla wow with god tier pvp. >tfw playing heal bounty hunter
Anthony Long
By acknowledging that MMOs are shallow, unfulfilling shit whose only appeal is by reinforcing repetitive tasks.
Josiah Garcia
>do something you always you wanted in the game that you know will get you banned OR never show your face again >plan ahead what you want to do with your life now that you are about to quit the game >do the thing in step 1 >enjoy the spectacle of everything you built fall apart in seconds >leave and never look back

I managed to get away from WoW by realizing that I just enjoyed grinding rather than the new content specifically. Once I discovered that I found out there are tons of other games with less financial and time dedications required to do that and have better gameplay/stories. Lots of JRPGs allow for tons of grinding. So do hunting games like Monster Hunter. So I just started playing other things and began losing interest in WoW, especially since every time I'd hear about new content it was apparently mediocre.
I'd recommend identifying what specifically you want from games that MMOs offer and searching for that in other experiences. If you like the social atmosphere try some other multiplayer or cooperative games. If you like grinding, try some RPGs or other time sink games. If you like a good world or story, look at what you haven't played that people recommend. Generally just try to find what you enjoy in MMOs and find it elsewhere.

Trash your account. Give away everything you own, delete as much as you can, sell your account if you can, uninstall the game, cut yourself off from all news. Then find something better to do with your time.
Don't pick up another MMO
Brody Phillips
It's likely that an MMO addict just can't 'stop playing', you have to make it inconvenient for yourself to return to the game like sell all your gold, delete items, sell account, uninstall like said. Or simply get your account banned.
