The grammar being really different from what we are used to can be blocking.
The process of Learning kanjis is a chore, especially at the beginning.
These can be reasons, and the most evident one:
Learning japanese for the sole reason of playing vidya is really a bad idea. Won't get you motivated enough in most cases, since laerning japanese is not something you can do on a whim

But it's not useless, as seen in the OP post.

I don't care about anime weeb shit games.
