You have ten seconds to justify why you aren't learning a fighting game.
Don't you enjoy responsive gameplay that rewards skill and tactics?

Simple, FGC.
Depends a lot on what game you play and where you play. Even then you can enjoy a fighting game fine without bothering with the FGC.
Is Xrd the prettiest non-2D fighting game of all time?
I wish I could get into GGXrd but I don't want to shill out 15$ for every balance patch and/or new character
Because sticks are fucking expensive and I'm a poorfag.
you don't need a stick to play fighting games
Shit genre, no money, complicated.
I'm waiting for KOF XIV to come out.
It's going to take a long while for another Guilty Gear to come out after Revelator. And it seems like DLC characters are free for a limited time. You don't even need the game to collect the free DLC.
My nigga
Because all my friends hate them and I live in an area with no FGC.
i will when tekken7 comes out
i wanted to get in sfv but they fucked it up big time AND they're not fixing it
I enjoy shooting games, beat-em ups, JRPG's, and comfy sims more
I want the gaming industry to make more games like these so that's why I don't play fighting vidya
I don't have enough money because I'm a garbage human being.
I don't know anyone who plays them. Playing online is boring. I am not competitive
Too distracted by R. Mika's ass to focus on the fighting.
I only have a shitty laptop, what can i play?
Because I'm playing the new monster hunter at the moment. I'll go back to SF5 soon though. Capcom is great.
No SFV for xbone... Halo doesnt let me choose another platform//poorfag
>poorfag
>chooses to buy an xbone
lad...
Duwde, halo is my jam.
Suggest me another platform to play the all mighty mcc on?
>SFV being fun despite being made by the biggest jews in videogame history
>KOF 14 around the corner, yet the demo is dogshit because it has no online and "only" 7 characters
>Tekken 7 is still 6 months away
i mean the graph of fighting game fun is going up but it sure is bumpy ride.
My friend doesn't want to and I only play games with him.
What's the likelihood all the KoF threads on Sup Forums disappear when it releases and all the people waiting to jump into the series realize it's a hard game to learn?
I don't find fighting games that rewarding although they are fun
I never get any better no matter what though so
>sf2 turbo on wiiu
>single player mode
>ryu v ryu
>cpu spams hadoukens
>i try to use my superior intellect to maneuver myself past them.
>every hadouken hits because the game is programmed to cripple great minds such as myself.
>ultimately succumb to a fate unworthy of a mind of my stature
>switch to a truely intellectual game, Super Smash Bros. For Wii U, where no one tried to spam projectiles
because its 30 degrees and im dying, playing fighting makes me hot as is.
Sup Forums doesn't talk all that much about fighting games in general. The only reason they are now is because EVO just ended.
I get too excited mid combo and always manage to fuck it up somehow
I get really sweaty
I am clumsy
I don't like playing online because I suck so bad and always lose
Is Rival Schools DEEP AND TECHNICAL enough?
Playing fighting games makes me stress sweat. It's the only genre other than 1v1 rts that does that.
1v1 is much better than team games. People always whine about their team sucking but they never just pick up a 1v1 game.
I actually don't. I play video games for my enjoyment, and competitive settings suck every last bit of enjoyment out of video games for me.
>suck too much to play online
>can't git gud
>don't know anyone in person who plays
I'm button masher
i agree that you only get the thrill of a manly 1on1 in fighting games and RTS games.
it's just to see who of the 2 is the better player.
the sad thing is that you can't play fighting games with friends really.
and it's not fun to fight your friends if the skill levels are too uneven
that's why people don't like fighting games much.
I would, but I don't want to spend $100 on a fightstick and then memorize how many frames each attack is.
fightstick is not essential
also you can just buy something like this and it'll do work just fine.
or built one yourself out of cardboard box and spare parts.
play a 4 button fighter like Tekken
or DoA, KoF also has 4 buttons
You don't ever get the full game anymore for your money.
KOF has some pretty rough inputs that i would want noone to do on a pad.
DOA is fine too yes.
Hell i even played blazblue on pad before getting a stick.
pads really aren't that bad.
i was also doing fine with Ken during the SFV Beta.
it really depends on the character you pick.
No IRL friends plus too much lag for online.
Install Fightcade
>fightstick
Is literally a meme controller. Hitbox is superior in every way.
id rather play the popular with non responsive gameplay that rewards neither skill nor tactics
The only one I really liked and learned was Melty Blood.
>KOF has some pretty rough inputs that i would want noone to do on a pad.
Yeah, I know little about that one series, just tried demo of new one - seemed quite friendly for dualshock
>non responsive gameplay that rewards neither skill nor tactics
So, Street Fighter V?
...
I get shy about playing online
I can't really play Tekken on my PC now can I?
There are people that play T6 online through PPSSPP but I guess it's better to just wait for T7.
Rock Paper Scissors is free
Local friendlies dont exist here, no one to play local with at my house and my my internet is too shit for netplay.
Why? You're hidden behind a handle. And even if you weren't who cares. One of the first things that comes up if you google my handle is me getting my shit wrecked on like day 2 of SF5 release.
How many though? I fear it's a handfull of sweaty nerds that are ultra dedicated
I don't understand it either user. I'm fine with playing any other genre online, but with fighting games I just lock up
>Fire up Killer Instinct because free
>Head into training mode
>Tutorial is unbelievably long
>Have to learn all this stuff just for Jago
>Then have to learn it for the other characters to be able to hold my own online
>Wait a second this reminds me of
>Yup, fucking school
>Every time you fight a different character you're tested to see if you remember all the random bullshit they can do
Nah fuck that.
I also have the reflexes of a dead cat and crack under pressure. So even if I did put the research work in I would hit a wall mechanically after awhile.
I always win at the reads and exchanges but I hate the idea of the combos and don't learn any of them.
I had that issue as well, but honestly it's easier to learn just playing online. You'll quickly learn how to combo break
>cheating
I am learning a fighting game OP. Fuck you, you don't know me.
Your friend sounds like fun.
>Fightstick is a meme
>hitbox isn't
Yea make sure you kickstart the melee hitbox goyim!
I'm waiting for the PS4 Neo to come out so I can start with GG and/or BB. Can I play both of them without having issues transitioning from one to the other?
The road of git gud is too long.
There's no reward in sight.
after three days of playing sfv with a friend i can consistently kick his ass now
he doesnt want to play that much anymore though because he owns the game along with all past street fighters and plays consistently while i just walked in and started fuckin him after 3 days
Its just not what he is in to. Can't fault him there.
>playing SFV
How is it even work? How do you do complex move inputs with buttons?
I play Melee and Sm4sh
I did try and git gud earlier this year. I stopped because
>my reaction time isn't very good
>live in UK countryside so no community
>shit internet connection
>favorite game is blazblue which has a small community anyways
I'm not autistic :(
whats wrong with it? heard it had a rough launch and lots of content issues but i literally only have played vs mode against my friend so i wouldnt really know about that. they released a few new characters and it seems fun
the only fighting games ive played were turbo ii revival and alpha 3 on gba anyway
>tactics meme
In fighting games? Oh please. As much tactic required as in Pokemon.
>How is it even work?
Like a dream.
what do you consider complex inputs?
also hitboxes are just for people that accidently jump a lot.
On a rating of 1 to 10, how much suffering is it to play as him in the latter, despite patches
>Love playing Mei and get pinned by reinhardts every goddamn time they charge
>This could happen to me
I wouldn't make it senpai.
I'm horrible at memorization so I can't do a combo to save my life. I keep buying these games though and I don't know why. I just saw a trailer for KOF XIV and I wanna buy for that butler dude. I think his name was Hei? And that blue haired girl. When is the demo coming out? Its on the store, but I can't download it.
I was I was good at something other than Tekken.
Not that I have a problem with Tekken itself, I just want to be more diverse.
>tfw Yata is dead and it's too late for even GGPO to save it
FUCK
Fight professionally IRL.
Games are notoriously childish in comparison
You can just pick a game with auto combos and work with that. Then you can play casually and have people call you a piece of shit every match.
Isnt stick more intuitive?
>giving a shit
The greatest loves seems the most indifferent. Love never fails.
No PC fighting games that seem interesting. Still into DFO except for leveling.
How do I Geese pretzel with one of those things?
No. Stick is super alien.
DFO is in no way a fighting game
>No PC fighting games that seem interesting
Pretty much all fighting games are available on PC in some way or other.
all of them are dead online wise
>skill and tactics
>RPS and muscle memory
>pretty good at skullgirls
>stick breaks
>forced to use to controller
>all skill gone
I either need a new stick or a game that I'm not trash at with a controller.
I actually bought P4A and I enjoyed playing yosuke. He was fun when I finally understood how to to youtube.com
>he fell for the stick meme
you were never actually good, the stick was acting as a crutch for you
This is true and I hate when people refute it.
PC has SF V and KI but that's like it.
Games like Xrd and UNIEL last like a month with anything smaller being DOA.
PS4 seems like the way to go for fighting games that are actually active right now
Demo is out
Tried to learn SFV and somehow managed to get to silver.
That trophy description is a lie.
play samurai shodown V special
you can kill in a single hit under the right conditions
