Why hasn't there been a Castlevania game where you are a wrestler who suplexes skeletons called Castlemania?
I swear to god, if you quote this post and say "Guacamelee" I will come to your house and delete your tamagotchis.
guacamaymay
Thats it kiddo, send me your address so I can come send your tamagotchis to hell.
But that's exactly what Guacamelee is.
But this is the best one in the GBA, have you even played Dissonance of Harmony? It's by far the worst Metroidvania imo.
what's going on here?
It's an epic new meme that was being spammed here a month or two ago. I think it's Sup Forums-related.
...
Fuck off back to Sup Forums
>people who thought crab was hard
but that's the best castlekino, OP
disgusting filter
>I don't like filters
I miss these comics.
I hate that motherfucker SO MUCH.
...
This game is fucking crap.
I couldn't get past the first boss. Haven't played it since.
Stupid disciple
>filter
Guacamelee
I don't have tamagochis and I'm prepared, I've filled my entire corridor only with legos blocks
Which final boss?
>mfw getting here
Why are you such a weak bitch, user?
That boss is bs. Especially the mummy.
Read it again.
That's the SNES version, right?
can't get passed the second level, the crows get me.
>MFW the finding the Jiangshi
That was fucking difficult.
No. There is no snes rondo of blood.
The snes game is Dracula X, and is a highly inferior "port" from the PC engine.
Bible makes this boss way easier
Despite its shitty anime art style, Dawn of Sorrow is still my favorite.
The soul and weapon variety + music and them sexy pixels were just too good.
Are you just bad at this game? :^)
Post your Castlekino collections.
Here's mine, it's nothing compared to actually having the physical games but I at least did make nice steam grid icons for them.
>can fuck up dracula
>can't handle a ching chong vamp and have to just reseal it and pretend nothing happened
Mind telling me how you got Rondo of Blood working on PC? I came across an .exe of the game a while back, but it had some pretty insane framedrops whenever there were multiple moving sprites on the screen.
If you're talking about the alternate Stage 2 after the Sea Monster fight, you should take the main exit from Stage 1 with the Wyvern fight fight instead. You get the basic Stage 2, Castle Entrance, where you can unlock Maria.
Unless you mean the crows at the beginning of that one, in which case you can just snipe them with the knife from a distance before they get a chance to move.
>AYCHUUALLY
Thats not harmony of dissonance.
This is factual too
>Game reuses SOTN assets and graphics
>Because of this decision, the game's sound quality had to be GREATLY decreased, to a quality even lower than a SNES
>So all the music sounds like shit
>And graphics were still ugly
>Worst level design
>Worst abilities
>Dual castles were complete horseshit
>Terrible boss fights
>meaningless plot
It had even more issues, I just forgot about them because its been years since I've played
Does this count?
I dont even hate it for being LoS. I found LoS1 to be very enjoyable with some amazing boss fights and just generally fun combat, but the second game is a total fucking mess
It was the second Castlevania I'd ever played.
I liked it
The sound quality didn't suffer from the reused assets, it was from their attempts to compensate for the GBA's horribly dark screen. They went overboard with colors and visual effects like the auras and outlines on everything after people complained that Circle of the Moon was too damn difficult to see.
Sorry if I worded it wrong.
The sound quality was decreased because of the decision to make it look like SOTN. Thats what I meant by "reused assets" because it literally reuses a bunch of textures and visual effects from SOTN like the after image when you walk
I would love LoS2 if not for the confusing environment layouts and awful stealth sections.
>beautiful, detailed areas
>great character and enemy designs
>some fantastic DLC, though I would've obviously preferred that it be a free unlockable
>one of the best Death boss fights in the series
I may have been the one posting that .exe if you got it from a youtube page.
If it's from here: youtube.com
in the description, I found that .exe to be pretty damn good as it's just a front end for mednafen and comes with the most up to date fan translation of Rondo. What I do now instead of using the built in emulator it comes with is just extract the game-files from the DATA folder in that package and put it in my PC-Engine rom file as it's own folder and run it with my own emulator.
These are all the files you should need.
Remember that the .cue file is what you need to load and if you want to change the name of the game (it should by default be load.cue and prg.iso) do it, but also open the .cue file in notepad and change all references from prg.iso to rondo.iso or whatever. Then you're free to load it up on any other emulator, I use Retroarch's mednafen_pce_fast core and it runs perfectly.
The first LoS is the only one in the sub-series that I haven't played. Is the camera an issue?
The problem about LoS for me asides the horrible plot was just how reduced the combat felt in scale.
In LoS1 (and every gow clone, as it should be) you were pitted against an overwhelming amount of enemies so you actually had to use your entire arsenal and think and move fast.
In LOS2, you rarely face more than 4 enemies at once, and when you face a lot of enemies, it simply isnt fun because they have some bullshit almost unavoidable RANGED attack and they're all extremely spread out. Like the most basic monster (the mutated humans) had a fucking machinegun/shotgun and would shoot at you nonstop (a single shot would stagger you or just send you flying back) so the combat pace was greatly reduced.
Also I didnt liked enemy variety at all, not enough "common" enemies, it was just 1 common guy and the rest were special monsters that you never got to fight in big numbers or combinations.
Lastly, they should have added an actual combo system, instead of just alternating between straight and circular attacks. Because this was clunky af and it made the transitioning animations look terrible
I would love LoS2 if the story was as relevant and good as it was in the first one
No, its pretty good, and its also the only game where the title "lords of shadow" actually fits
