It sucks but its impossible to play this game guideless without missing out on a bunch of quests/items/characters/cutscenes because of all the shit you need to know and do at the exact right time or its gone forever.

What do you think of FFTA2? I enjoyed the gameplay, but was utterly disappointed with the story. At the end, I was like is that all? Who is she, who is that monster, etc

I felt that FFTA was more coherent/well-designed, but TA2 had somewhat better combat. TA2 tried to be not as broken as TA with requiring quests to unlock high-level classes and making mana start at 0, but it was broken because of the auction house which you can spam for top-tier weapons/armor. I thought the bazzar system was ok but a bit too difficult to get what you wanted
