I'm being interviewed for a job as a video game blogger and social media assistant tomorrow. I haven't played any games in 4 years.
What do I need to know to ace this interview?

I think you're actually more likely to get the job because you're not a sperg that keeps up with video games.
Show him and us your tits
nothing, you look ready
enjoy your job
Thanks pals.
It's a phone interview, he won't ever see my face~
>I haven't played any games in 4 years.
Irrelevant.
>What do I need to know to ace this interview?
Nothing only people who don't enjoy video games get to become game journalists. The fact that you think you need to know about video games might be the thing that keeps you from getting the job.
>tfw if you were a popular video game blogger you could instantly revive your favourite games
no video game journalists actually know anything about video games. just pander to sjws and push progressive agendas and you'll be fine.
If I get the job, I get paid for 1 blog per week, but also for any likes, follows etc on the social media platforms.
I will happily blog and shill memes of your favourite games in exchange for getting me more money through likes etc.
Yeah, I see that a lot out there, but I do genuinely enjoy video games. I've just been far too poor to keep up. The best platform I have is my ps3, and my computer is literally dirt-tier.
I'm not very SJW friendly, I have a personal and anonymous blog that I write on all the time... its... really.. really.. really.. not SJW friendly. I hate the whole LETS NOT OFFEND PEOPLE EVER (unless they're white males) parade.
>just pander to sjws and push progressive agendas and you'll be fine.
This tbqh. it's the only thing that gets you views and social media awareness. Literally
>social media shit
Sorry OP
>I'm not very SJW friendly, I have a personal and anonymous blog that I write on all the time... its... really.. really.. really.. not SJW friendly. I hate the whole LETS NOT OFFEND PEOPLE EVER (unless they're white males) parade.
You're not gonna get hired.
Pretend to be a bleeding heart liberal with a Unicorn gender
Not strictly true, I've been running my own blog for like 2-3 months now and I get views and likes and I've built up around 20 followers so far.
My blog is very anti-sjw. Literally my last blog was about people who use the word "problematic".
On the one hand, yeah I'm not looking forward to it, but then again I spend a lot of my day using social media for my personal blog and talking on Sup Forums - which is social media whether you guys like to admit it or not - so it's not really going to be a far cry from stuff i already do anyway.
You really think that's enough to stop them from hiring me?
Give me some liberal unicorn gender buzzwords to throw in.
Could you perhaps try revive Ring Runner?
I've shilled for it endlessly and tried to find other players on Sup Forums, yet not a single multiplayer game resulted.
The PvP modes of it would be hilarious to watch because of the absurd ships people make but apparently even when the game popularity peaked it was still too small a game to have many people caring about anything but single player and co-op.
Tell them you grew up in portland or something.
I'll give it a go. I can't promise anything, since I'm one of about 10 candidates to be interviewed.
the current hottest controversies
come with a list of pre-prepared clickbait article titles. most of your writing talent is going to go into just the title. since the article itself could be nothing, or not even followup on the article title. nobody cares. they only need the urls or headlines to summarize important pieces of shitposting info.
He knows I'm from the UK though. Though how would Portland help?
>10
Hmm, those are bad odds.
Which company is this?
I'm sure they'd love someone who shared the same opinions as them what with being in media and all.
For example, although I think Trump is just find, the idea that "this should be the year that a third party stands a real chance" would be a popular one.
>3 months
wow, at this rate you'll have 800 followers in about 10 years. that's like everyone on the internet!
Rate of popularity growth in media seems to go slow, suddenly become ultra fast, then start slowing down again as few potential followers have yet to follow.
Like with Krunkidile. Just passed 100 subs when I found his videos, then next thing I knew he was into the tens of thousands., but now he's pretty much stopped.
200 or so applied.
I'd rather not say the company to be honest, but I guess its going to be based on my personality mostly since the only thing he's seen of my writing so far is an email I sent him. Waffling on about how gaming isn't just the silent achievement or online bragging rights of yesteryear and is more of a social event that people celebrate unashamedly blah blah blah blah blah
It's not that easy to get followers on wordpress. I've had almost 1,000 views over those 3 months too. Building something from nothing is going to be a lot more challenging than building something on what this guy's already built.
have they seen your blog? they actually might want someone who writes like you specifically. if they've seen your blog, they like your writing and are interested in having someone like you aboard. pandering to sjws may be the wrong step here depending on how much they know about you.
Pic related it literally the only thing of my writing they have seen. My blog is totally anonymous.
