Is this game good? How does it compare to fallout 3 and 4?
Is this game good? How does it compare to fallout 3 and 4?
It's better than both, senpai
Worth every dollar
It's worse than them and even buggier (if that's even possible). Don't bother with it.
t. todd
same basic gunplay than 3 with arguably better stat management, but the world is overall smaller
worse gunplay than 4, worse world, better level design
better story and RPG than both
so uh, play it only if you appreciate good writing and enjoy RPGs, otherwise it won't be up your alley
Is it worse? I've heard the story is much better written and a lot more dynamic
Worse than 3 and more fulfilling than 4
NV>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Fuck 3
4 is much worse
I haven't played 4, but NV had a far better story than 3, it had actual factions and your decisions impacted your stance with those factions, and it was a better experience.
My only complain is how "empty" New Vegas feel, but given how you're in the middle of a desert is understandable.
It totally shit compared to those two games let me tell you why.
It has tons of dialogue with everyone as if you care about the characters or the world. Also it gives you a bunch of needless dialogue options. Fallout 4 fixed that for us. Also it doesn't have a villain what kind of gay world doesn't have a preset villain to hate? Also there's all this shit about taking over a dam.... A dam, what is so important about a dam that gives you both water and electricity in a vast area?
It gives you way too many weapon and customization options before you even install mods. What is the fucking point of a game that gives you options from the start? Bethesda knows not to make this mistake. They even put iron sights on the guns, lame... Just have us zoom in even if the gun doesn't have any piece of equipment to zoom in with fools.
The expansions made the mistake of exploring more of the world and the story rather than giving you a sandbox to fuck around with or an alien space ship unconnected to everything else to explore. They fucked these up bad mate. In 4 you can build a city next to a mutant town who wouldn't want to do that?
Oh yeah and the cities... They''re dull, filled with quests and things to do and their placement makes sense given real life locations the game is based and settings that reflect the needs of a real city. It's nothing cool like living next to a nuclear bomb or setting up a city next to some slavers. Obsidian is boring. You don't have a limegreen texture all over everything and trash everywhere. How do we know nukes hit if people aren't living among filth and obvious cues of radiation?
To top it all off, they went through the trouble of having people from the original games work on and write this one. Why not just get great minds like Tood Howard, Pere Hines and the loremaster to come up with great ideas like.... Ummm
Well anyway 4 and 3 are clearly better in every way. So just Skip NV.
trying too hard there m8
The game was shit friendo 8/10
The story isn't terribly complex or anything. The completeness of the setting and how the world interacts/reacts with your actions makes it feel like a much more interesting world to be a part of than 3/4.
It's better than 3 in every category, it actually feels like a Fallout and has the choices of one, unlike Oblivion with Guns.
Can't comment on 4 since I've put off playing till it's dirt cheap and complete.
pretty boring tbqh, fallout overall is kinda 'meh'
...
Jesus Christ, get over it.
it's the strongest 3d fall-out in terms of story.
You can hate on it for whatever reason but you cannot deny the impact choices have on this game than your choices had in 4.
Fucking died.
You've heard correct.
Nice.
This is copypasted from the Bethesda forums isn't it?
NV>3>4
Fallout 3 is a turd.
New Vegas is a turd with sprinkles.
Granted, those sprinkles are fucking awesome, but they don't fix the shit foundation.
I find funny how my sister, who loves casual shit and has Fallout 3 as one of her favorite games of all time, thinks 4 is a piece of shit.
Isn't it great?
Even absolute retards like your sister are capable of seeing how shit 4 is.
The only people still defending it are people who don't know any better.
Fallout 4 is the pinnacle of the series and the best open world rpg game to date
Don't listen to these trap/cartoon fapping degenerates
If you think their neckbeared autistic opinions to heart then you should kill yourself
Why are you even here?
I've actually read some of those as legitimate arguments on Youtube and such, thanks Bethesda for trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator, who hates reading, wants to skip through dialogue to get to the action and then gets angry if he ever gets lost not knowing where exactly to go and what exactly to do.
Fallout New Vegas is my favorite game ever.
Are you on console or PC?
They make games for themselves.
Dude everyone just spams through the boring dialogue, whenever I open up a terminal with a page of text to read I tab out of that shit aswell
PS3fag finally making the jump to PC.
Essential mods? Performance enhancing tips?
>walk away from dialogue
>can't continue quest
>have to return and pick up from where I left off
>skipping dialogue lines broken again
>have to sit through poorly delivered lines written by a 3 year old
can't they do anything right?
you can't counter this
Fnv has a boring world
Then you've got ADD, faggot.
You probably shouldn't be playing RPGs.
I enjoy it, meaning it having a boring world is subjective.
>3
>lol dc with WACKY and NUKES
>NV
>sensible world with an actual history you can interact with in a meaningful way
>4
>lol boston with WACKY and NUKES
sure is boring
It's very subjective at least between 3 and NV. They both succeed in different areas, but I personally like 3 much more. 4 on the other hand has so much improved gameplay and mechanics that I can't even directly compare it to the other ones. It's definitely my favorite.
However, people on Sup Forums will act like 3 is shit, NV is the best game of all time (lol) and 4 is even worse, which comes from a mix of contrarianism, nostalgia and hyperbole.
All in all I would recommend NV, since it's a good game, but don't expect it to be leagues better than the other two. Otherwise you will be probably dissapointed.
>To top it all off, they went through the trouble of having people from the original games work on and write this one. Why not just get great minds like Tood Howard, Pere Hines and the loremaster to come up with great ideas like.... Ummm
This but unironically. Fallout: NV was written by the same geniuses who came up with this shit (see picture).
I agree! Bethesda RPGs offer a unique experience unmatched by what other developers offer.
>1 writers
>NV
Wow, you can't even get that right bethdrone
>Make mod that ref walks through a cell getting every single NPC in it
>As soon as I enter an exterior it freezes the game
Nv was written by Gonzalez, a new guy to the fallout franchise
Best (3D) game in the series. My favorite is 2 and NV is essentially a direct sequel, so I'm biased. It has a trash engine thanks to Bethesda, but it's one of the best first person RPGs I've played. Every important quest accounts for so many player variables it's still amazing years later. The "find the guy who shot you" quest has so many end states I can't even remember all of them. It's also one of those rare games where you can kill no one or everyone and the story adapts to it.
Didn't care for the DLCs, but some did. Also the Karma system was goofy and the invisible walls are lazy.
