>"The original concept for Spring Man's stage was an abandoned toy factory, while the final's is...something. Space? The sample version has a lot more machinery in the foreground, though the scenery here is clearly broken. It looks like the level was in the middle of being revamped"
I expected a BB style midgame twist. Fucking A.
>all those older games with blurry pictures like OP's
Man, it fucking sucks. It's like those Sonic Adventure Betas with shitty videos in the ancient time of the internet and qwaty videos.
But I love shit like that, the stories behind it. how things were changed over time and how cut content was found years later.
Or those games that never got released, like that B.C. game for the fat Xbox.
>guys don't worry, there will be more heists to do offline
>actually just online, heh.
Fuck current Rockstar
...
>broom will never come back
I was so hyped for this game when I read about it in Nintendo Power.
mario 64 used to have cool fishes
this game taught me to never be hopeful for the future.

Speaking of Super Mario 64:
youtu.be
Because they're ugly as fuck.
>tfw we will never see a truly completed Halo 2
>implying

Resident Evil 1.5 is pretty interesting. Some people are trying to recreate it.
Elza, protag before she got changed to Claire, is a qt too.
...
That hat is stupid.
The robes are alright though I guess.
HOLEEEEE SHEEET
Imagine the world where this became a reality. You will never see that world.
yeah the hat looks like it's floating a foot above the character's head but it's cool otherwise.
...
uhhhhhhh
The blood was removed from Urien's Time Over animation in the US version.
...
I'm sure a few of those were developed late in the dev cycle and will be included in one of the two DLCs. Specifically the paired swords, one video even displays their unique weapon skill.
However..
Yhorm set? Varangian? Hexer? Nah, I think those were just ditched.
...
...
Varingian I can understand because it'd be a very out of place throwback to DS2 like half the game is for 1 but WHY NOT YHORM?
Why are they shafting him so hard? His boss fight is a total meme right up there with the Ancient Wyvern
pretty smooth framerate / graphics for a 64 game
>That link versus metal link
Wonder how many tossed ideas we'll never see
Nocturne has a couple unused cutscenes, including a very early version of Shinjuku Hospital, a few beta models leftover, and a bit more. The PS2 SMT games are a bit notorious about this.
Dat young myamoto tho
>out of these three games, they decided to complete 'i can't believe it's not 1080 - kirby edition'
Not even close.
There's clearly a more beat - em - up feel to the GameCube demo
Here's my last Kirby related webm (unless I find more). Just some beta footage of Nightmare in Dream Land here, mostly test levels.
Anyone know if there's any beta footage of the original Super Star? I never even thought of searching beta stuff about it beyond the unused stuff left in the game.
i just realized that the background is just dynablade's map
I couldn't wait to find this area to take some beautiful shots. I was so disappointed.
>kirby's mass ball attack
DLC when?!
(The swords aren't in the game either)
Fall
? the gamecube demo has the Super Star ability system just like RtDL
The Early Green Hill Zone will never be playable EVER.
Why is all this Nintendo mid 90's stuff always so grainy, glitchy and small?
Cameras sucked in the 90s user
Other companies didn't seem to have the problem.
And it's not just the videos. Magazine clippings too.
And most sites were only able to upload footage in the lowest quality possible.
Tilt and Tumble kinda sucked though.
Cave Story's development is really an absolute fucking enigma.
Sadly, the ROM for that build is likely long gone. Most people bring up Sonic 2 when it comes to betas, but I think Sonic 1's early screens are also really interesting (Probably because as you mentioned there will never be a way to play it).
Guess you never know though, someone finally released a playable ROM of Sonic X-treme a little ways back.
...
don't forget about Sho, he was in Nocturne too
...
>The game originally had an actual font instead of using a shitty built-in computer font
It's the little downgrades and weirdness that blow me away more than the big stuff
You're goddamn right
No it did not, if anything is was the best motion control game ever made.
Unlike Mario (Mario is missing) & Zelda (CDI games) Kirby never had a bad game due to HAL's quality standers.
I remember a magazine advertisement for Sunshine showing Mario riding a green Yoshi and stomping Strollin' Stus in Delfino Plaza.
After seeing that, I went and looked all over the Plaza to find no enemies at all. And the only time you could ever ride a green Yoshi was when he was running out of juice.
You know this could have been put on the Wii U. And it wouldn't have been a game that required 2 systems to play.
I wonder why it wasn't a launch title for the Wii U? Instead they just had to make Star Fox Zero to justify the gamepad's existence.
Maybe even sakurai forgot about it...
Do you think beta versions of Super Mario 64 or similiar will someday be found and made playable for everyone?
...
I did in DS2, looks just as good as that screenshot
What a coincidence. I unearthed my old nintendo powers, pulled one out from August 2005. Saw an article about the "new kirby game for the GCN" and gave it an uncomfortable chuckle.
That set makes you immune to backstabs
But user that forest has more trees than the one in DS2
This one isn't big, but here's Super Mario Kart R/Mario Kart 64.
I'm so annoyed that we'll most likely never get to play this one.
I sure as hell hope we find the build in one day. I want to explore that unfinished castle more than anyone.
Do you have anything from 2007 (I think August specifically? I've been on a long search for a supposed interview about Super Paper Mario.
I miss NP
shame they couldn't keep it going in digital form.
Who knows. I'm not sure what Nintendo's preservation methods were or are, but one thing to consider is that storage was a lot more expensive back then. It's likely that early builds of SM64 and their other games weren't preserved after the final version was good for retail. But stuff like that crops up every once in a while. There was an unreleased Toejam & Earl for Dreamcast that was found somewhat recently. There was also an unreleased South Park game for the original Xbox was found on an old Xbox Dev Kit.

fresh off the presses
What happened with this?
Some YouTube faggot just found an American 64DD with a dev disk inside. If he can find a way to get what's on it maybe there will be something neat on there
Do people consider CDI Nintendo Games really as canon?
I mean they are like unofficial bootlegs so why not treat them that way?
Nintendo already does that
I forget the details but it went through a lot of development. They dropped it, eventually started working on a 3D Kirby but that didn't work out, they tried another 2D one which also never got anywhere. It got turned into Return to Dream Land for the Wii eventually or something.
Dark Souls 2 had so much cut because of how badly managed the first draft of the project was, and Tanimura and his team had to salvage it. It being made around the transition from PS3 and 360 to PS4 and Xbone also fucked it over, as the game was ultimately held back by last gen hardware.
this is what the Gutter used to look like, before it was reworked into the boring, featureless chasm it is now.
>The only things I would imagine him finding on there are a bunch of teach demos with 3D models floating around, or possibly an English version of one of those Mario Art Studio games.
not sure if this mumbo-character was an enemy or not
This is what it was supposed to look like, from DS2 design works
>that riggy23 guy who created these blocked his photobucket sometime after I shared it on Sup Forums.
What I imagined. Thanks
Sorry, October 2005 was my last issue.
This killed the Souls series. What a shame. At least DS3 was alright.
>roller skates
>skateboard
Does that little girl look like young Asuka to anyone else?
Imagine if GoldenEye 007 stayed as a on-rails shooter everyone.
Damn, alright. It's so hard to find scans of the later issues for some reason.
Speaking of Banjo...
youtube.com
There was also a child version of Shanalotte that was taken out of the game. Wonder how she would have fit into the story.
...
Beta Scuttlebug.
Aonuma knows about them, but has said that they're not canon.
This would of never happen if Nintendo went with Panasonic for the disc drives for the SNES CD and use a Yamaha sound chip (YM2151 with extended NES like sound from the main CPU, the 5a22's 2a03 sound emulation was already 70% complete anyway).
CUTE SOULS LOLI
Luigi and Wario weren't voiced by Charles Martinet in the Japanese version of Mario Kart 64, they re-used the random Japanese voices from Mario Party 2. They also turned Peach into a guy with a falsetto because the original version was Engrish as fuck. Also, the announcer was some over-the-top English voice instead of Mario himself.
no... it hurts...
One of the last beta builds, but here's a webm of it anyways.
