Will the Kickstarter fad ever die off? Will people learn?
Will the Kickstarter fad ever die off? Will people learn?
Who are the gaijins?
>iga
>con man
you just mad you backed m9 instead of bloodstained
>Iga
>conman
Care to substantiate that? Yeah, Kickstarter and other similar methods aren't exactly safe but just because somebody funds something with it, that doesn't mean they're con artists. People actually do deliver products this way, you know. Our lord and un-cucked savior James Rolfe being one of them, even know the movie sucked.
Replace Iga with Kojima
>Iga
>Con man
>Not Kojima
t. Mighty Number 9 buyers remorse
Replace iga with hussie and we have an agreement
Before MN9, Sup Forums was calling Inafune a visionary. Blunderstained will get released and Sup Forums will pretend they always hated the guy. The cycle never changes.
>X did this so I have to hate Y
>Sup Forums was calling Inafune a visionary
>implying
dude didn't even create megaman
Check the original Sup Forums threads. I don't have the link right now. There's people saying Inafune was a visionary, that Akira Kitamura didn't do anything, that Capcom was holding Inafune back, and that Inafune is a genius. Anyone who said he was just a producer was shot down with 10 angry responses.
Sup Forums was 99% on board the game before the first demos and gameplay videos and Dina.
Patreon is the new hotness.
Patreon is even more open to abuse. Crowd sourcing means you are obligated to produce a product in some shape or form. No control on quality.
Patreon means you are obligated to work on the product. Nothing about completing anything. And work can be defined how ever you wish.
Doodled a bit, smoked weed, and jerked it to tranny porn all day? Congradulations, you put in a hard day of work.
Plus he'd just come off the very good Soul Sacrifice (Which to his credit, is something he was actually quite heavily involved with), so a lot of people were in the mindset that Inafune was in a good run of form.
>Which to his credit, is something he was actually quite heavily involved with
I have a hard time believing that now, must have been a fluke if true
He didn't actually make the game though. It was directed by some other guy, and made by Sony. He was involved in designs, story, and general ideas. Kind of "Idea Guy" stage. These ideas get filtered through talented people, and Inafune looks like a genius in the end.
It seems that any game that Comcept actually tries to make, ends in failure. MN9 was a mess. Kaoi was cancelled after 4 years, and 3.8 million dollars wasted.
ReCore, regardless of whetehr it's any good, seems to be coming along well. But again, made by other people with Comcept only putting some ideas and designs.
So the lesson is keep Comcept the fuck away from actually making the game.
Before MN9 only retards sided with Inafune, people who actually knew who he was hated him because he kept saying retarded shit like DMC needs to be more western because that's cool and hip.
>Sup Forums kickstarters are always scams
>meanwhile, never been burned by a /tg/ kickstarter
eat shit
He brought along the main concept and design of the game (That originally stemmed from a conversation he and his wife had about Western fairy tales and how messed up some of them were when you sat down and really thought about them) and rough frame of the story as well as character and monster designs. He was also quite heavily involved with promotion and basically cold-canvased the fans for the improvements that later came through to Delta.
So yeah, Inafune was an ideas guy and artist for SS and did his job really well, but it helps that he was working with a very competent and talented team and wasn't managing the finances or anything. He didn't direct it though, that was Teruhiro Shimokawa.
Inafune and Japan Studio said they both really enjoyed working together and would like to do another sometime in the future, so I'm really hopeful this comes to fruition after ReCore and Red Ash are done.
No. When MN9 was announced, Sup Forums was riding Becks dick like a French whore. Then the first gameplay alpha came out and the game was shittily done 3D instead of the awesome 2D art that was put out up to that point. Bloodstained already had a demo come out for funders. The response was positive. Worst complaints were lack of weapon variety (it's a fucking alpha/beta demo) and that the lighting wasn't quite right (Iga is on record saying he will tweak it based on player feedback). You can download a pirated version of the demo
>So the lesson is keep Comcept the fuck away from actually making the game.
Oh, I don't think you're wrong. I think Inafune is a really neat artist and can sometimes be a quite good ideas guy, but as Kamiya says, he's not a finger-in-every-pie director. If he's not in a leadership role (i.e. managing the money) and is surrounded by a talented team that knows what they're doing, then yeah, he can be a valuable asset.
But the last 6 or 7 years really do suggest he's lost a good portion, if not all, of his business chops.
>interest only increases post demo
This was the crowd for Iga's Bloodstained panel at Anime Expo. Supposedly Inafune was only able to fill up half the room for his panel.
...
Did anyone go to the inafune panel to call him a con man?
No clue. I'm not even sure if they took questions.
But from the reports I read online, Inti-Creates + Inafune completely avoided mentioning MN9. They talked about all the past games, and past Mega Man games Inti has worked on, and all the future projects Comcept is working on. They seem to have decided that it won't help talking about the game, so let's just hope everyone forgets about it and move on.
Also this is inti's booth at the expo. Notice anything missing? Nothing MN9 related. The display had MM Zero and other past games playing as well.
>Ask how Iga is a conman
>"T-this other person made a s-shit game!"
I found a pic of you online.
...
>Hurr durr X failed so Y will as well
Fuck off, there's been bigger Kickstarters going both ways and Iga yet has to prove himself on his.
Almost nobody here is hyping Iga into oblivion. He has promised a decent SotN/Sorrow knockoff and currently it looks like just being that.
Add this one to your list of scammers.
star citizen guy and tim shaffer
>Will the Kickstarter fad ever die off? Will people learn?
money scams have existed since humans have
Firstly Sup Forums is not a single person.
People were ok with Inafune, some people agreed with Kamiya and there was shitposting around that, but the real anger started when that community manager got hired and started being a total dipshit.
This.
>makes a MGSV demo, completely unnecessary
>hypes up his shitty open world prequel (because the series just needs more useless fan fic plot holes)
>runs off with Konami money without actually finishing the game
>people praise this hack who hit his peak at MGS2
There will always be retard to give money, so no.
What game did he develop?
I saw that booth. They did have MN9 stuff, but it was hidden on the OTHER SIDE of the right wall. Just had some Beck t-shirts on the side.
>hit his peak at MGS2
I'd agree with this. MGS2 had some crazy on-the-nose social commentary. MGS3, while a great ride, was just an excellent Bond thriller.
