>MMO TimeSink
I have better things to do
>they didn't get the feast top 100 rewards
I'm too casual to keep up with it. I'd pay for some hub based variation where you just duke it out with the bosses because that's the only fun part of the game.
Waiting for FF XV. The real Final Fantasy.
Because its monthly subscription and it always will be a sub
Because I just woke up
Monthly fee.
Waiting for 4.0
FIRE V FUCKING WHEN YOSHI
Recently played through ARR and 2.1 - 2.5 content. Started Heavensward, but feel a bit burned out on the game at the moment so I might stop for a while.
Because there's only two weeks worth of content released every five months.
Because I'm at work.
What were the rewards?
Waiing for daily reset so I can do my roulettes and shit again, fucking about until then.
aoe thunder fucking when
new aoe rotation when
enchant weapon when
turning thunder from a purple ball into an actual lightning bolt when
A gearset
My pals went back to WoW, I tried the new patch (thank god for being able to sub with gold) and it made me miss my Ninja
pls give new XIV expansion
I was. I was doing leveling roulete and it was Sunken Temple of Qarn.
Tank was an undergeared retard rushing ahead and skipped grabbing he fire, knowlege, etc gems to open door.
I was the healer and said go back, he said no, so I left. I haven't got time to waste on faggots.
That's really understandable. When I first played, I felt burned out just before the Leviathan fight and stopped playing for a few months. The inumerable fetch in 2.1 - 2.5 were a struggle but it gets a little better by Heavensward and a lot better towards the end of Heavensward. I might stop playing again before 3.4 but I'm definitely much more into the game right now than I ever was before.
Enchant weapon would push BLM into more of a support role, which BRD and MCH already have covered. I don't think I want this especially when RDM is just going to be a melee range BRD
AOE Thunder sounds OP as fuck but I guess it's only fair since WHM got Aero 3.
>It's a WoW clone in 2016
And? So is modern WoW, obviously.
>It's instanced everywhere
This is somehow a bad thing?
>Its graphics are outdated
Its graphics are vastly better than WoW, vastly better, and its artstyle makes it work even if you run very low graphic settings.
>Its design team has no creativity
Granted.
>Its combat is one of the worst of any MMO
Subjective. I think a 35-useful-moves tank is far better than a 5-useful-moves tank as in WoW.
>Its GCD is 2.5s
With an extremely large amount (15+) of oGCD abilities per class.
>Its endgame a bigger theme park than WoW
Okay.
>Its world is small and linear
It is neither of these things.
>It has a subscription in 2016
Okay.
>It has a cash shop on top of a subscription
Cosmetics only. How is this a problem other than nitpicking?
>It has the worst playerbase of any MMO
Subjective.
>Its boss fights are entirely scripted and linear
So long as they're well designed (subjective), how is this a bad thing?
>Its boss fights consist of a circular platform in a room
They "consist" of a hell of a lot more than just a circular room, for example mechanics- have you ever heard of mechanics, dumbfuck?- but they are mostly contained within circular rooms, yes. How is this a bad thing anyway?
>It has zero class depth whatsoever, every single class is the exact same thing
Factually wrong.
>It has no interesting gear
Granted.
>Its gear consists of boring stats like crit and attack speed
This is the same point as above, you've literally written the same point twice you have so few arguments.
>It has gated content and drawn out content to make the most money possible
Granted.
>It has almost no side activities worth doing
"Worth" doing? Depends what you enjoy. I for one got top 10 in the feast on my server, and I've done 12 full runs of deep dungeon so far. "Worth" doing depends on what you find fun. That is to say, it's subjective.
How popular is Palace of the Dead? I've only done the first 10 floors solo so I get the basic idea but I don't feel like doing the whole thing solo, especially with how hard it can get by floor 13 with those kamikaze slimes. I just want three iL235 weapons. Is it realistic to still find a party over the weekend to run that shit? How dependable is matched party?
>Its a cross-platform game where you share it with braindead consoleplebs
It is. Whether they're braindead or plebs is dependant on your elitism and faggotry.
>Its being held back by consoles
This is the same point as above, you've literally written the same point twice you have so few arguments.
>Its combat and content is designed with consoles in mind
This is the same point as above, you've literally written the same point twice you have so few arguments.
>Its so boring I got bored even thinking about it
Subjective.
You could find a fixed party in PF if you spend some time looking, but not many people will bother because it's easily completable in matched party.
Matched party does not take into consideration classes, so you can go in with 4 DPSs, even. And it's still perfectly doable so long as you don't mass pull without a witching/rage.
It literally just released
Even on my small server there's a decent sized crowd in quarrymill to get
big servers would probably be crazy there
>It's instanced everywhere
>This is somehow a bad thing?
Pathetic.
Honestly?
No SAM
But I am
Waiting on WoD queue to pop while leveling my monk
But I just stopped.
I had to carry a group through the Edda fight in PotD solo as a DRG.
The two Black Mages died seconds into the fight thanks to the massive AoE she has where you gather to her feet.
The Monk managed to get hysteria'd not long after because Gaze attacks are still shitter's bane.
Thank fuck for Bloodbath, Second Wind, HQ Max Potions and Life Surge. I needed every last seconds worth of healing to beat her with just a +21 Aetherarm and +19 Aetherarmor
I got no commendations
>but I don't feel like doing the whole thing solo
Good, because you can't.
Maybe if you are summoner with 30/30 gear. Even then you'd probably just hit the time limit or die to Edda.
Waiting for 1.0 private server.
2.0 was a mistake.
SCH/SMN/WAR/WHM/AST are all perfectly capable of soloing it. You need at least 20/20 gear as the healers, 25/25 as warrior and 27/27 as smn. But you absolutely can.
holy shit just kill yourself
I remember Sup Forums talking about how the last 20, especially the last 10, floors are nearly impossible without a healer and tank. I don't mind running a WHM or DRK but I was hoping to level up my MCH or NIN. Should I go in as DPS anyway or does it make a big difference if I'm a healer or tank? And if it does, which one? Of course, this is assuming that I go through Matched Party.
I just want my FFIX sword magic back, really. It's still dps, but some kind of dps by proxy or whatever.
>want to name papalymo/yda last stand scene as example of enchanted weapon
>realize it's just mnk lb3
wow fug
RDM for tank role fuck you
t. Baby who never played 1.0
because i had to suffer through another final phase learning group dying to the first sable price explosions and i want to get some actual practice in but i cant because everyone somehow dies within the very short time of the on person aoes going off to the orbs blowing up
fuck my shit up, family
Almost all but guaranteed in 4.0. If you want SAM in a decent amount of time, you should probably stay up to date with the main scenario quests. We might even get a small hint at 2016's Rising this August. Personally, I'll jizz my pants if Blue Mage is a tank, with Mighty Guard being the tank stance, and utilizes monster abilities when he gets hit.
>the last 20, especially the last 10, floors are nearly impossible without a healer and tank.
not at all
I've gotten through with 3 tanks and 1 dps, 4 dps and a few other weird combos
its more of a test of "don't be stupid" the last floors than party comp, the main reason I've wiped is some idiot goes running ahead and spawns a monster closet while everyone is busy fighting together
>I just want three iL235 weapons
It'll take a while. To get them you don't just clear floor 50, you have to get your weapon to +30, which will require some grinding. Especially since if you haven't hit +30 by the last floor, you'll have to reset back to the first all over again.
If they decided to add one or several new jobs for each existing class, which ones would you like to see?
>Gladiator
Red Mage/Spell Fencer
>Marauder
Beastmaster or Pirate
>Lancer
No idea
>Pugilist
Maybe Mime or Dancer
>Rogue
Maybe Dancer too
>Archer
No idea
>Conjurer
Geomancer
>Thaumaturge
Time Mage or Mystic
Going in as a healer or as a tank will make things easier for your group.
Healer because it can god damn heal, especially whm because holy, and tank because having a tank allows for aoe pulls. If you're four dps you absolutely cannot aoe in any way whatsoever (if each dps tanks one mob and they all aoe, their mob will survive too long and they'll die), so you risk running against the time limit. If your dps is good and you play intelligently- especially if you use pomanders of rage to clear floors 47, 48 and 49, you can make it with 20 minutes to spare by the time you hit the final boss. At that point, you need to intelligently work out a way to tank it, which is vastly easier if you have a ninja because of their enmity skills and shadeshift, meaning they can pull and tank well, then pass the tank role to someone else when they're low. It's completely doable even with retarded DF pugs because, I've found, idiots will go "no healer no tank gg" then purposely wipe everyone, so the moment you hit a party that doesn't do that, you can clear it. And it doesn't take too long. In short, it's doable and not that difficult, it's just not braindead (and really fun) if you have only DPS.
Protip: Bhoots and Gravekeepers are blind, so if you walk (not run) they will not be pulled, even if you walk into them. Once you're level 60, you want to be skipping as much as possible (while opening all chests).
>I got no commendations
That's pretty shitty but good job. Sounds like something you should've recorded. Would've be fun to watch.
BLM Patch Notes for 4.0 that will never happen:
>Thunder 2 is now AOE
>Burst: 60s CD AOE thunder nuke
>Blizzard 2 and Freeze now give 2 extra stacks of Umbral Ice instead of 1. Blizzard 2 is now an AOE heavy, like Miasma 2, Freeze now has higher potency.
>Surecast procs reset the Swiftcast cooldown instead of the Surecast cooldown
>Flare when used under the effect of enochian will no longer have AOE damage falloff
>Manawall will now negate 2 physical attacks again
>Aetherial Manipulation when used in Ley Lines, moves takes the Ley Lines with you.
>Scathe used under the effect of Enochian will give you 3 more seconds on Enochian, and 3 more seconds on Astral Fire or Umbral Ice
None.
Fix the game, more classes aren't going to change anything.
Cause it doesn't make sense to pay a monthly fee for a game, especially one that sucks
or be a massive shit and if you dont get enough upgrades from 40-50 you wipe your group and start again
Nidhogg is literally the easiest primal they've released in Heavensward (talking about min ilvl here).
Literally Shiva EX tier.
work full time and even if i did it will take a week to remember why i left
remove cast times from mch and bard
>time mage
We already have AST
>RDM for tank
No way, it's definitely DPS/Support. They could work it in as a healer but that would be a grave disservice to the job, although having a powerful heal on cooldown, similar to NIN's Goad, would be neat. But definitely not a tank.
they already made a real shitty class system. i get they wanted to make it different from ff11, but there was some shit they shouldve stuck with
An unhealthy number of fuccbois.
hardest part about ff14 is finding 7 other people who aren't retarded
I've cleared it with 4 mismatches DEEPS. It's not hard. Just annoying when at any point you can lose 40 minutes of progress thanks to "you've triggered the luring trap, please welcome the rape brigade" Couple that with exploding chests or mimics and you're gonna have a bad time.
It's a lot like the Battle Arena in FF7's Gold Saucer. Sometimes the RNG affects bless you, sometimes they REALLY fuck you. Especially when The Gloom Spreads on the same floor that you're damage dealt is halved AND you don't recover health naturally.
Most classes play the same currently, you seriously think new classes to come will be different? the community even give up on the idea of Red Mage actually being Red Mage in the game.
>some idiot goes running ahead and spawns a monster closet while everyone is busy fighting together
That soudns frustrating and annoying. Overall, it should be easy then but, for the sake of playing it safe, I'll be a healer for Matched Party. If I find some cool guys in Party Finder, then I'll go with a DPS.
Because ever since I've played MMO's like EVE, in which the players get a massive amount of freedom in what they're allowed to do, I can no longer play carrot on a stick "gear grind" bullshit.
Archeage when it was in Beta WAS a good example of a simplified version. That was until it went pay to win, then it was garbage;
>Three Factions, think Alliance VS Horde, but the third faction was Pirates in which everyone can join, you become a pirate by gaining infamy, in which you can gain via murder, theft and other crimes
>If you gain too much infamy, you get bounties put on your head, in which Bounty Hunter Guilds will hunt you down
>When you die you go to Court, the juror and judge is made out of actual players who can give you a guilty or not guilty verdict
>Can steal from other players
>proper open world, as well as player owned housing, farms and businesses that actually have an effect on the economy
>can play the economy like a stock market, but it's fucking hard
>massive open world PVP
>class mixing that actually worked
I just can't do carrot on a stick gear grinding shit like Final Fantasy or WoW anymore.
Jesus Christ I just wanted to fantasize about getting cool new jobs, not see a bunch of crybabies whining about the game. Might as well not answer if you just want to complain.
That's only realistic if you're off by a couple of upgrades; only then is it worth it to wipe on the final floor and try that set again. Your gains don't stick with you unless you save your data after passing 10 floors so grinding the final floor only works if you're real close to maxing out. Otherwise, you're better off starting over.
>the community even give up on the idea of Red Mage actually being Red Mage in the game.
This.
Dark Knight is a fucking tank that uses MP instead of TP. Totally sounds like the HP sacrificing huge damage dealers from the series right?
>tfw you time your convert just right as black mage in Mhach that you kill yourself to hell wind
Thanks user
Seems like im gonna resub next month
Oh and I forgot;
>skills actually meant something
Not everything was directly related to combat. For instance, there were players that actually stacked up on Language Skills because all races had specific languages. Which meant that interpreters were needed a lot in the pirate faction since there were so many different factions.
Absolutely not! BRD was really boring for me until I finally hit Lv.52, and each new move afterwards added on to that. Before I would literally go through dungeons half asleep as a BRD but now I have to constantly pay attention to my positioning. It's like a BLM but with a little more mobility and I love it. Removing those casts times would be a massive detriment. It's like Lv1-50 is easy mode, and now you've gotta focus on positioning and timing too.
Is not only that, DRK is a fucking PLD in disguise, same rotations, same effect on some skills, all fucking tanks in the game play almost the fucking SAME, except for 2 unique skills that are barely relevant in end game or any content at all, is just disgusting.
That's kind of bullshit.
PLD doesn't have a Dark Arts, Blood Price, Plunge, Carve and Spit, Souleater, Abyssal Drain, Repirsal, Delirium, Blood Weapon equivalent.
That shouldn't be possible. Hell wind reduces hp to like 1% regardless of your current hp, and convert can only be used when you have a certain amount.
>tank dies
>don't believe in quelling strikes so I'm next on boss' shit-list
>mfw I get to tank with nothing but a pointy hat and a magic stick
I really, really want a proper mage tank class.
Oh right, Paladin has 1, 2, 3.
>DRK is release
>MP intead of TP
>Awesome bard mp song and MP pots will surely help him, same with Piety the stats that increase MP
>SE says the song won't affect DRK MP at all
>Piety does jack shit for DRK
This game is so fucking shallow jesus
I don't mean to say that you should rush back in. If anything, it's a better idea to wait until a month or two before the next expansion to catch up. If you just want to know what the Rising holds, it's better off to wait for other people to find out and post it online so that you're not wasting time or money. That is, unless you're into seasonal events or whatever. When is Shantotto coming back??
Not really. DRK has way better aoe enmity management and the whole mp juggling deal.
The way server ticks work, you can take your max hp in damage from hell will, and lose HP from convert at the exact same tick. It will actually kill you.
Also it's always hilarious when a BLM takes hate, takes the tankbuster, and lives. I miss old manawall for that, with taking Death Sentence for 0 damage.
>This game is so fucking shallow jesus
seriously. You can't do anything, it's just linear. Linear progression, linear dungeons, linear fucking everything.
I only played the game for 6 months. That's it.
Warrior was a fun class, but the game itself is shallow boring shit.
I just hit maximum rank in my Grand Company. I'm bummed all to fuck to see I'm only halfway up the ladder and that's just life. I also just NOW learned there is special summoning food for my companion chocobo to increase stats. What a fucking world.
You don't get to say that after six months you meat faced cretin. You played for six months. It took you six months of active MMO play to decide it was boring? Get the fuck out.
>mfw I still got like 8 hours of fucking story quests before i can even touch Heavensward and I'm already 53
this fucking slog
Fuck off
>I just hit maximum rank in my Grand Company. I'm bummed all to fuck to see I'm only halfway up the ladder and that's just life.
This dev team just abandons it's failed ideas.
They are so bad they forced people to do Guildhests in that hell between ARR and HW
>They are so bad they forced people to do Guildhests in that hell between ARR and HW
I think they removed that now.
Because my sub ended and Yoshi-T is a WoWfag pandering hack.
Oh this kind of bullshit. If someone says they were bored in a month, they just needed to play more and are a pleb. If someone gave it a fair shot, they must have liked it or they're a stupid fucking pleb. Die in a fire you goalpost shifting cumrag.
That was removed a while ago.
We're all waiting for the re release of Neocron. Pk noobs, steal loot and fight for bases. Dont forget to tip your local strippers in pepper park.
Gee look at all these players playing the game, sure looks exciting. Makes me want to sub right fucking now.
It's designed this way for a reason, same reason why all the classes are designed as they are. No class is supposed to be "better" than the other, they just all play slightly differently. That way, you can play three versions of the same class.
If BRD, and especially MCH, were capable of restoring DRK's MP, on top of DRK's already perfectly capable self sustaining, then the class would be insanely overpowered. You could Dark Arts + Souleater for days. It's the same reason why Blood Weapon is unavailable when you have Grit on; being able to use Blood Weapon while tanking would be fucking nuts. I feel like WAR and DRK are closer to equal, although the general consensus is that WAR is better, but there would be no question that DRK dominates if these limitations were removed.
People need to stop comparing FF14 to FF11. FF11 was designed as a game for ultimate freedom. It's why there were a million fucking spells, weapons, armor, and billions of possibilities. It's a game where warriors could use polearms and dark knights could use scythes. It was a playground or a sandbox more than anything else. It's the fucking game where NIN and SAM were introduced as DPS and tank respectively but the community switched both classes around and the developers went with it. But FF14 isn't that game; it's a basic, by the numbers, co-op dungeon crawler more in line with Phantasy Star Online, although admittedly it has even less freedom than that. The point is, though, these decisions were made for the purposes of balance more than anything else.
>People need to stop comparing FF14 to FF11
Even single player offline jrpgs have more freedom, customization, synergy, etc on how you play a character than FF14.
lmao listen to this nigga
>Dark Arts
Oh the copy paste Warrior mechanics where you build stacks and release on a skill? may as well call it fucking Wrath
>Blood Price
one of the moves I mention that are unique
>Plunge
shit, a jump ability, so game changing
>Carve and Spit
a mp drain attack, holy shit that sure is a signature move
>Souleater
That not even the signature move, is a signature move when you couple it with Soul Devourer, if not is just a friking regular tp move
>Abyssal Drain
a regular drain that takes back abbysmal hp back
>Repirsal
a interesting move, destroyed by the fact that NO TANK STACKS PARRY. Also it does not stack with WArrior damage debuff??? the fuck
>Delirium
lets make Monk less usefull yay, by not making it stackable?? why
>Blood Weapon
uhh... you know, nvm, I would expect at least for you to mention Living Dead intead of this crap, but ok
You got half of those skills wrong, just saying.
Top 3 callbacks to previous games they need to do:
>JENOVA needs to crash land in the next expansion site. Becomes the next 24 man raid with JENOVA Life, Death and Synthesis serving as the climactic boss in each of the 3 raids.
>If exploring the sea is to be the next expansion then SIN needs to be out there waiting. Hopefully serving as the next 8 man raid that takes place inside SIN itself.
>The next Warring Triad series should certainly be against the Four Fiends of FF1, culminating with a big fucking mega fight against Chaos.
It's going to be saved for another expansion where grand company progression actually means something. There's rumors about 4.0 having a side-mechanic where you're the commander of a small army squad and that's where the next set of promotions come in.
They did? I didn't think they were that big of a deal. I mean, it was really fucking silly but it was hardly the worst offender of 2.1-2.5.
I played 1.0 that's the problem.
> I mean, it was really fucking silly but it was hardly the worst offender of 2.1-2.5.
The worst offender is putting the entire HW expansion behind all this shitty mandatory story quests.
Because while I restarted on a new server with some people with similar interests I found my attention waning as I got closer to level 50 to the point where I've been playing all the other games on my backlog like New Vegas and Monster Hunter.
That's not the point though. FF14 is all about dungeon running with your friends. In order to keep everyone on the same page and keep everything balanced, concessions need to be made. If FF14 had the same, tremendous freedom that those other games had then certain classes would get thrown out by the community based tiers. Worse yet, everyone would gravitate towards whatever the mathematically best DPS is anyway and all your freedom wouldn't mean much because you didn't pick the best spells or skills so parties don't want you.
Don't get me wrong, both cases have their strengths but FF14 isn't bad purely because of its lack of freedom. It's got plenty of other problems, sure, but that isn't one of them.
When do we get these?
>It's a "We fight the boss inside of him to destroy him from the inside out" episode
>Bahamut Prime
>The whole Alexander raids
>but that isn't one of them.
Yes it is faggot.
Thanks dude , i'll skip over this shit and play something else
