it was quite a trip
This sums up Sup Forums well I think
you die
Pretty unique. Gameplay is basically 'look for scarf extensions with a total stranger' but the minimalist approach and the sense of camaraderie that can be achieved with only the pings and body language as you go through the game is really neat. Lovely artstyle too.
pretty great game, gives me the feels.
finding another player on the journey is a great feeling
I like it for the porn
>COORDINATING songs so you permafly
Takes niggas too long to learn that.
did the end of the extended flying sequence symbolize an egg being fetilized by your character (looked like she flew into the sun)?
Looking forward to Abzu in two weeks. (Had no idea they were releasing on PC as well, by the way.)
Journey was great, but don't expect all the kids on Sup Forums to enjoy it.
Peeping at/with other players and showing them where the secrets were was fun. I never did get that achievement for completing the whole journey with the same person, though.
No, you're reading into it too far. The story is a summary of the Hero's Journey. It was mentioned in quite a few interviews with the developer.

"Experience" for those easily impressionable non-gamers whom bought the PS3 for the blue-ray.
Sounds like you're poor.
>Journey
>Did x symbolize y?
The answer to this is no.
There is no intended symbolism in Journey and that's part of the point. The game is a telling of the core tenets of the Hero's Journey, with a purposefully minimalist presentation in all aspects of design. The intention is that you take from it whatever you personally felt.
Flower is significantly better
>Narrative based experience
>Multiplayer
That's that shit I don't like.
So it doesn't have any deeper meaning? I thought this was the big meaningful game that proved vidya was as emotionally impactful as other art forms?
Havnt played it yet btw.
>So it doesn't have any deeper meaning?
You can still tell a great story without referencing obscure symbolism.
Just sounds like an adventure story like all video games that get praise. Doesn't really say anything important like every other medium does regularly.
It's quite different from other adventure stories in many ways, but who am I to tell this to some random on the internet shitposting about how his movies and TV shows are better?
>Doesn't really say anything important
Oh yes tell me more when you haven't played it.
Well you agreed that it's just some simple adventure story. There's nothiny wrong with that by default, but it's painfully obvious this is as far as video games can go.
I also never mentioned movies or tv shows but speaking of movies (who still watches tv lol) there's plenty of movies that tell great simple stories as well as plenty that can be deep and cerebral. And then plenty inbetween.
If you removed the OST, I can guarantee you most people would have thought it was a shit game.
It's the OST that makes the game for most people, desu.
I even tried it myself by putting the game on mute. The areas have no inherent atmosphere to them by visuals alone.
I haven't played it yet because I'm waiting for it to be free on ps+, I'm not paying for a 2 hour game.
How is fertility obscure symbolism?
>it's painfully obvious this is as far as video games can go
I don't get it, where else can you go with video games? You're sending across a story or idea with significant involvement from the user. That's already further than any other medium has gone.
>The areas have no inherent atmosphere to them by visuals alone.
Well that's certainly bullshit, but Austin Wintory has to take a lot of credit for making a great soundtrack, and I hope he continues to do so in other games. Assassin's Creed: Syndicate was terrible but I still bought the album.
the way the multiplayer worked was amazing
>following a person with a long ribbon
>they have to keep waiting for me
>Finally get to the entrance to a new zone they run stop sit down and disapear
>enter new zone alone
>see another new player in the distance
weird feeling
my partner died (disconnected) while climbing the icy mountain, so I had to continue on my own. I cried a little
2deep4u cancer
(Tu)
well its a playstation only game, so obviously its a shitty movie
>That's already further than any other medium has gone.
Just sounds like any old game honestly. But I guess Journey is closer to a popup book?
Anyways you should try branching out. Only man children play vidya exclusively and you're proving it.
