Already you've missed the point. Paper Mario, at its core, should still be a fun GAME to play. A non-skippable cutscene watching a dubstep pig dance is NOT FUN. It's not gameplay. It's therefore a detriment. And the game is full of this garbage.

NO IT WASN'T. You'd have to be crazy to defend Paper Mario or Mario and Luigi as "flawless gems". They were good, but they had problems. A sequel should be about improving the game and removing the problems, not emphasizing the problems and doing nothing to improve the game.

I think I can. Paper Mario TTYD is one of the best JRPGs ever, and Bowser's Inside Story isn't far behind.

I completely agree on all of those points.
I only mentioned the overall task and writing for that reason.
The Paint hammer especially looks tedious. I think that's going to be a large factor in the game being a pain.
