Can you name one (1) other genre that takes more skill than playing shmups well?

If we're talking the highest skill ceilings, rhythm games
We talkin beatmania? Cause that controller is intentionally fucky
Not specifically but the thing you said makes no sense and has never been a complaint about that game ever
>memorizing patterns
>skill
Fighting games aren't really "skill", they're more like "choke less than your opponent".
>Shump
>Take skill
What?
>This guy thinks single player games take more skill than human vs human
What?
>filename
That's a cave shmup though. Touhou bosses are more elegant about their bullets.
Yes.
what the fuck even is that shit
How is any human supposed to dodge that shit
I need a video
>>This guy thinks single player games take more skill than human vs human
Of couse they do. If your opponent fucking chokes on the day you are playing them and can't perform the way they can on other days, it takes no skill to beat them. This is not a problem for a.i.
Probably sight reading high level bemani rhythm game charts, DDR specifically because you actually have to have physical endurance to best the songs
PvP is a meme. Most people are trash at videogames and even worse than AI.
Humans can be good or bad depending on the day, thus changing the experience you get when facing them.
A single player game has a limit. Once you surpass that limit the game has nothing else it can throw at you. Thus making it inferior to you and never giving you a new experience.
it's a shoop
If shmups don't take skill to beat, what non-skillful quality do you need to overcome their substantial difficulty?
Player vs player is only as difficult as your opponent is good. You obviously need substantial skill to play against someone who is the best in the world, but that is not a level you are at all likely to ever play on, let alone consistently play on. The average player is going to be mediocre.
Unshooped would still be totally absurd and the same question would still apply.
afaik, everyone just hoards all their bombs and spams them for this bit.
i saw this exact thread yesterday
>Can you name one (1) other genre that takes more skill than playing shmups well?
Visual novels are on par, you have to mechanically repeat the same set of movements each time too.
The focus on perfection is what makes me dislike danmaku games. It takes a lot of skill to be perfect for a long time, but at some point you are going to make a mistake. You must be perfect enough to get points to get stocks and eventually 1cc, because you need those stocks because you are going to fuck up at some point and use them. I dunno, its not my type of game at all probably.

Don't meme at me boy, I'm an autistic robot and I know exactly what faggotry we do in shmups.

But they do allow you to make mistakes.
Most,if not all,of my 1cc's were filled with mistakes. You just have to be careful and manage your resources.
But I get where you are coming from.
For me,it took quite some time to get into bullet hells, specifically Touhou ,but once I got in I couldn't stop playing.
cross mouth on characters always bothered me, I can't of anything else but an anus
but it's a v mouth.
oh yeah my bad

Honest question: how often do you get really challenging opponents in a fighting game?
Competitive Catherine.

Also, bullet hell type shooters are not skill-based. They're mathematically-based. They're all about your spatial logic abilities and the ability to plot the best geometric course through changing patterns.
>spatial logic abilities
This is a skill.
>ability to plot the best geometric course through changing patterns
This is a skill.
>player just saying "fuck it" and following a hole in the pattern around the boss for the final pattern
Heh, nice.
