But Mega Man 9 is the best classic Mega Man game and Capcom did it like 6 years ago

And why wasn't it added to the Legacy Collection?

It wasn't an NES game

>, THIS is how you do a Legacy.
Have indie developers make it for you?

9 was crap. It's no better than the later NES games.

>But Mega Man 9 is the best classic Mega Man
>Not 10
kek

Capcom doesn't understand legacy. Hell, it doesn't understand hiring old guard employees, it understands only contracting things out to shitty companies like Dimps. And UDON. Both companies don't understand the history behind the franchises, they just try to take the material and make it their own and it becomes some kind of MUGEN fanfic playground for themselves and the fans who don't really care about the integrity of the product as long as it "looks kewl".

Didn't Sega take notes from THEM?

and no more will ever be made again

MM legacy was good too and included challenge levels and gallery and shit.

How many games does mania span anyway?

I respect that they even made Legacy, but the extras are not at all what I want from a Megaman game. I don't need achievements or short challenges, or even concept art I've had the chance to see a dozen times already. I want to play the games in a way I haven't before. Fuck accuracy to the cartridge. Fix the slowdown in Megaman 3. Inject old cut stages, as long as they're optional. MAKE A PROTOMAN/BASS MODE.

I'd honestly be fine with another "legacy" collection but for the X games. I dont play them enough to remember them beat by beat to need a shake up so just putting X-X6 in a new collection would be nice.

But yeah, at least having new modes of play would be nice for future collections.

If all you want is X1-6, X Anniversary Collection already exists. All they have to do is make it backwards compatible or available as a download.

>literally asking for X Anniversary Collection
If they were to make an X "legacy collection" it would only include X1-3.

>see all these Sonic threads
>Sonicfags are excited for a new Sonic game
>the new Sonic game actually looks good

Wow, what the hell?

Which would be disgusting, unless they really load it up with extras. Virtual consoles are too prevalent to beg for such a lacking collection of games.

This. I mean, they're not even 3 pages into the Darkstalkers VS Street Fighter crossover comic, and they've already shown they're still rolling with the "Morrigan eats people's souls" thing that was never in the actual game canon.

Shit, that collection totally slipped my mind.

Give me a fucking battle network collection then. Surely that doesn't already exist.

ikr, it took SEGA more than a decade to realize that people just wanted a MM9-style Sonic game all along

>unless

NO. NO EXCUSES.

>battle network collection
Yeah, OK. I'd be down for that.

>Have indie developers make it for you?

Why not?

Give it online multiplayer and I'm all in.

user, I mean REALLY load it down. I mean "pack it so full of features it's basically the work of creating 3 new games." This ain't no half-ass justification I'm talking about.

>that ost in studiopolis

>this song
Oh...the sanic spam is coming back to me

no

get out

>choose... no wait, CREATE your own netnavi
Battle Network Xenoverse?

What? It was a single player game. Unless you're talking about the game link function which is something I don't hear people talking about when it comes to those games.

Why are people still whining about Legacy Collection? It's an NES emulator, nothing more. They could have gone to literally any other company with an NES library and made something similar.

MAYBE if they didn't call it a Legacy or anything of the sort, I might give it a pass. But shit man, it's 2016 and a half already. Give me X1-8 or don't even bother.

If you want to choose your own Navi, play RockMan.EXE 4.5

Calm down buddy. You'd be lucky if you could just choose any mugshot as your avatar.

>Why are people still whining about Legacy Collection
>It's an NES emulator, nothing more

You just answered your own question.

I can agree with that. But I still want a new angle. X anniversary gave me access to the Kart racing game that I'd never played before. MM Anniversary gave me easy access to the arcade games, for some decent couch coop.

If they're going to cram the games together they need to give me something I at least haven't seen, if not new.

I'm just tired of hearing "Why isn't Mega Man 7, 8, 9, 10, etc. in the game?"

Because it's an NES emulator!

>If they're going to cram the games together they need to give me something I at least haven't seen, if not new

Exactly what Sega is doing right now.

Like I said, Take notes Capcom.

>selling us an NES emulator
Then don't fucking call it a Legacy Collection.

Problem is, I don't think anyone asked for an NES emulator. Those already exist. Meanwhile Megaman 9 and 10 are still not ported to PC or modern systems.

Legacy Collection is just an emulator. If only Capcom had their own Taxman.

Is there a way to play this Whitehead guys remakes without mobile?

store.steampowered.com

Taxman vs Conman
The Fate of Two Mans

>it's an emulator
>it's an emulator
>it's an emulator

Why the fuck would anyone allow this, or defend this? Fuck you all.

can someone explain to me what the big deal is? They're re-releasing an old game with two new playable characters.. I don't get it, there are plenty of rom hacks with loads of content, is it because this is an official release that all the soni-chu fags are getting wet for it?

All I see is the genesis classic version of sonic 2. I thought he added some new levels?

>Sonic 1-3 & CD
>remixed/remastered levels
>new levels
>new music
>new engine
>3 playable characters
>secret characters

It's not an emulator

accidently linked the front page instead of the game
store.steampowered.com/app/200940/

Sonic 1 and 2 also have remakes but those are indeed mobile only.

only CD. Which is a shame, because he got to do his interpretation of Hidden Palace Zone for 2.

The people who made the emulator felt otherwise. It's not like Capcom commissioned for one. They went to Capcom with the idea.

Trust me, I'd much rather get 9 and 10, or a proper collection in a similar vein to the Mega Man Anniversary Collection, but actually done well.

Whatever. It's starting to look/feel like I'm defending the stupid thing.

youtube.com/watch?v=104MtCUxUxw

That sucks. My DS4 just has too much lag when used with my phone. I might try some android emulation. Sonic benefits so much from 16:9 support.

I was talking about sonic, not megaman. Ofcourse megaman collection is just an emulator.

I was talking about Mega Man though. I was responding to the drones that defend it being an emulator.

I know, but you didn't link to anyone.

God forbid people expect a collection of games to have as many as the previous collection did, or perhaps...more than the previous release? The thankless whores.

>Doom 4 turned out to be fun
>Now this
Like my childhood in reverse.

All we need is a SM64-esque 3D Mario.

You'd have a point, except by now I would think everyone who cared would understand that it's an emulator, and therefore cannot have the later games.

I'm not saying I don't want a better collection. I'm saying the reason this collection was shit is because it's an NES emulator first.

It shouldn't've been a fucking emulator to begin with. Use the MM9/10 engine and recreate all the levels.

Sonic fans are starving for games and they have been hyping up a supposedly good Sonic game since the beginning of the year due to the anniversary. You could give them Sonic 06.2 and they'd praise it anyway.

Understand that if the emulator didn't come along, the Legacy Collection wouldn't have happened at all. A company made an emulator, approached Capcom with it, and Capcom used it to make a collection. Had they not approached Capcom with it, there would be no collection. Capcom wasn't trying to make a Mega Man collection and decided to use the emulator.

The people who developed the emulator could have easily gone to Konami instead, and then you'd be complaining that there was a Castlevania collection that didn't have Symphony of the Night because you're too retarded to understand that it's an NES emulator first.

Which NES MMs are worth running through? I've beaten X1 through X5 but I've never really gotten into the classic MM series.

If we're being pragmatic, I'm not too upset because I have all except 9 and 10 on my hacked portables. I'd like a follow-up release with 7-10 and MM&B, though. Also the PS1 ports of 5 and 6 on PSN; MM6 is ONLY fun when you don't have to open the menu to switch forms a hundred times for the castle stages

They shouldn't've done it at all then. Fuck you. Anniversary Collection, a game 2 GENERATIONS AGO, had more games. Why don't they just rerelease that if they were even going to bother? Fuck you and fuck off. Defending companies selling an emulator to us, kek.

If you prefer the X series, you could try out MM4 and up since they sorta have a dash mechanic and a charge shot. You should definitely try out MMXtreme 1&2 though.

I'm not defending the game. I'm explaining why things are the way they are. You're upset games are missing. I'm telling you why they're missing. I'm not saying it makes it okay.

And telling me why won't make me any less upset, so maybe it's better to just leave it at that.

THE FUCKING ANIMATION AT THE START SCREEN IS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!

This is how you avoid alienating your old school fans and upsetting the overly obsessive autist.

Do Sonic games sell well anyways? If this game sells more a less the same as even the best modern Sonic game then what makes you people think Sega will go on making more like this? Unless this one sells better then what has been selling for years now then it won't really matter in the long run.

Basically what I'm saying is that for Sega to make more of these style Sonic games then it's going to have to perform extremely well to drive a point.

Do you not want Sonic Mania to be successful?

Oh user I haven't played games in years now. I do keep up with the industry though.

To answer your question I would prefer to see this be a success yes.

It would be a very bright future indeed if it does become a success.

>Capcom
>Taking notes from SEGA on how to do a proper revival

Capcom's been doing this for years.

SEGA had to out source it to fucking fans.

But then they stopped so what the fuck?

The fuck do you mean they stopped? Duck Tales Remastered was la-

>SEGA keeps milking Sonic despite releasing mediocre after mediocre game. When they finally show signs of improvement, they decide to scrape it all and start all over with an awful idea executed horribly.

The fuck is this shit? I was expecting an actual new game like Generations.

Maverick Hunter X should be in great tier just for playable Vile.

I wouldn't get my hopes up before the game comes out. Remember episode 4?

>still no Powered Up 2
LOOK AT ME WHEN I'M FUCKING TALKING TO YOU, CAPCOM

It's not a re-release

We got one, only a teaser though.

Taxman's at the helm and people have played it. It can only go well.
