Maybe Modern Sonic's segments will be typi al boost to win hallways, and Classic Sonic's segments will be a reimaginung of Genesis Sonic's phyics and mechanics in 3D, since we're already getting a true 2D Sonic game like so many people have been waning.

Maybe this is Sega's way of weening us off Modern Sonic. If 3D Classic Sonic is a hit, they may phase Modern out completely. Doubtful, but possible.

No, but not even zeldafags behave like this and they don't usually get that good of a deal.

It's unsettling since it sets a precedent for classic sonic to piggyback on every 3D game and seems to set us into a pattern of "classic" & boost sonic.

Also, it completely takes away the chance to use one of sonic's friends for fucking once in ten years.

Playable wise was okay in Heroes and competely broken in 06. Outside of the comics I don't really care for him.

I'm getting the feeling that this will be less like Generations than people think. Calling it now:

I'm inclined to think classic Sonic may be the same or similar to how he was in Generations, but I wouldn't be surprised if his gameplay gets changed up as well. Like, he gets put into 3D levels with classic mechanics and/or can swap with modern Sonic on the fly or at certain points.

If it weren't for Iizuka (sp?) stressing that this game is an all new thing and not a sequel, I'd just be thinking, "Yep, Generations 2".

I'm just kinda mad that they're reusing generations gimmick, Classic was the shittiest part of generations and I want to play as knuckles, not baby sonic.
I'm excited for Sonic Mania because the classic games are my favorites, but I'm extremely skeptical about this.
I would've been cool with a 3D game about just Classic Sonic or just Modern Sonic But gee Bill 2 Sonics? 2 fucking times? It was a novel idea but it's outstayed it's welcome.
