WHY IS AERIAL DB SO FUN, HOLY SHIT I'M SPINNING UP AND DOWN AND ALL AROUND
Alright I'm gonna go try it, better be as fun as you say user.
...
So how do Heavy Bow shots work?
I understand they're heavily affected by gravity so they're relatively short ranged but that's about it
I've noticed a lot of monsters with tail spins spinning 3+ times in a row in Gen for some reason. I don't remember it being this excessive in 4U.
Well it's not like it was a secret.
Most just did 2 back then. Also Gypceros fucking pretended to die twice on me a couple hours ago.
After the initial rush of aerial DS, I tried out Guild since Striker doesn't have Archdemon mode
>mfw Wolf's Howl + Blood Wind
HR 1-3 room for those who those who did village but are still stuck in low rank.
ID: 64-7123-4770-0230
Pass: 7243
HR 1-4 lock
I had a Gypceros pretend to die, immediately get up, get tripped, fake dying again, then die for real before it got back up. Poor guy.
Wolf's Maw*
>gypceros plays dead twice
>get two carves out of each fake-out
>adept dodge his wake up attack and get away scott free
you deserve this for being a piece of shit
>make this joke on Sup Forums ages ago
>meme localizers put it in the game
Gen is a disgrace.
>Khezu does 4 full rotation tail spins while i'm in a corner
>I get hit each time and as soon as I could have gotten out I get stunned and have to take the final hit
the tactic works for the monsters. good on them for not being stupid.
>Lion's Maw for GS
>DB arts in general
>Scythe LS + Death armor
We need to go edgier. I need a literal *teleports behind u* move for LS, Sakura Slash isn't enough.
For context, I wasn't on a Gypceros quest and did get my two carves. It's just that since I wasn't expecting the second one to be him faking, I got hit once. No biggie.
If anything its the by product of Nargacuga and KutKu.
I was calling the gypceros a piece of shit not you
That is pretty nifty, though I miss the quick dodge.
Why is the Adept style so shit for both Swag Axe and Meme Blade?
>Adept SA
>if you dodge an attack just right you get a unique dodge animation with a possible follow-up attack
>cool
>you're locked into that animation and the follow-up attack for both axe and sword mode is largely shit
>you don't have any options except for using the 1 follow-up attack or running around like a headless chicken
>not cool
>Adept CB
>switching to axe mode is a huge hassle because of the retarded blocking animation
>can't use AED after shield bash so forced to switch to axe mode to use AED which makes the annoying mode switch even worse
>no noticeable benefit over guild style for dealing with it
>why would I even want this shit
Fuck off retard
>I invented the "Kutku and Rathian made a baby" joke that's been around literally as long as the Garuga has.
Fuck off.
Yeah.
Feels old, man
Why would use ever even consider Adept SA when it has the most busted two art combo in the game?
The only reason Aerial SA is still good is because it gets an extra hit in when jumping on a monster
What's the difference between Guild and Striker for Switch Axe?
You lose the finisher on Axe's endless chops, and the A->A double swing in Sword mode
>All these new styles and weapons
>mfw using Guild GS because the only thing that has satisfied me from 2ndG onwards is landing those trip charges
I want to get into monster hunter, I tried 4U but didn't really "get" it. (granted I put very little time into it) I'm thinking about getting generations, can someone explain the appeal and what I should be doing to really enjoy it? In 4U I was kind of just going through the quest thingies alone and it wasn't very entertaining.
I use adept for both.
CBs perfect guards are what make it, it's also got a GP on the charge attack. Axe mode allows you to perfect dodge.
SAs dodge attacks you just need to learn how to use, namely just hitting them with the triple hit and rolling again.
4U and Gen suck dick
You're not missing a thing.
All MH games are quest based, so you might want to see if they're really your kind of game.
But yeah, I only started enjoying it after I did the training thing for all weapons and figured out which ones I liked best.
MH isn't about the quests but about the monsters. If you don't enjoy hunting monsters (especially hunting the same one over and over and over again), then you might not like the series.
Big monsters is where it picks up, seltas and shit.
If you don't get it, you don't get it. Honestly I'd recommend you keep going until you find something in particular you don't like, such as the grind or whatever.
>can't use AED after shield bash
This is true for all styles
When do you get those? I want to go max cuhrayzee with blast dual blades.
Is there any weapon tree?
An additional note is that you can only use shield bash to charge your shield now.
And it only gives you yellow charge no matter what which sucks dick. If you want red charge you need to cancel off the ultra
Weapons don't grow on trees, user. If they did upgrading in Generations wouldn't be so painful.
Adept can do it off a perfect guard.
>mfw demon riot + energy charge
No it isn't, I don't know about striker or aerial but you definitely can do AED after a shield bash in guild style.
Who the fuck let Bullfango back in monster hunter
use kiranico for all the good stuff dude.
Ping's MHX Dex
>Why would use ever even consider Adept SA when it has the most busted two art combo in the game?
Because switch axe relies heavily on rolling to get out of harm's way and I thought it would be cool to reinforce that with a style, but the adept dodge is disappointing.
>CBs perfect guards are what make it, it's also got a GP on the charge attack. Axe mode allows you to perfect dodge.
Why not just use guild style without dealing with the bullshit of adept style though?
>SAs dodge attacks you just need to learn how to use, namely just hitting them with the triple hit and rolling again.
So then it's only really useful for going apeshit in a monster's face by evading everything?
I thought that chop finisher was just gone period, or is that another consequence of adept style?
>they added a 3D model viewer for the weapons
holy shit yes
armor previews when??
>that bandicam watermark on top of the already existing bandicam watermark
I actually think I got to the first real 'big' kind of monster, great jaggi or whatever. But it took a really, really long time, I was just whacking it and chasing it for ages, and it wasn't particularly hard or engaging. Idk if i attempted it to early or something, are they all like that?
edgy
>click rotate button
>"What happens if I keep clicking it?"
>keep clicking it
>weapon rotates faster
>and faster
>starts rotating ridiculously fast
>button says TURBO ENGAGED
>mfw can't slow down
>So then it's only really useful for going apeshit in a monster's face by evading everything?
but that's how the switch axe plays though
I's still there in Guild
Not that you'll ever be using Axe mode in the first place in Gen
Two slots vacant.
>great Jaggi
>big
The larger monsters later in the game are definitely more exciting than an overgrown jaggi. Just wait when you have to fight a queen seltas. It attracts a seltas and said seltas will pick it up, causing it to hover in the air, which it will then start charging at you because it's basically a fucking four-legged tank (steam sounds and angry twisting metal sounds included).
Yes user, every monster in the game is as easy as the tutorial monster
>implying that was a bad thing
I use them as well. It is idiotic fun and I love it.
squidward is the epitome of nihilistic, narcissistic, spiteful and malicious edge
>check farm
>Bumblepumpkin
>Qty. 3
YES
>he didn't even get past the tutorial
try playing the game before wondering why you don't like it yet
Don't forget that it uses the seltas as railgun ammo
>In the same episode he has fun in the box
The problem is playing so risky that the adept dodge will even work is hard to manage constantly. It does work often enough I guess, but it seems like if you're not constantly adept dodging literally everything as SA then it's a pretty weak style.
That's really lame to remove it for adept style too, probably just going to switch to guild style which is lame since I WANTED to like adept style.
a playstation vita version of this game would be nice
I didn't even grow up on Spongebob but I know that's wrong.
when does squidward ever do anything for anyone but himself
Anyone doing HR5 Gammoth?
>Craft Thunder SnS
>Realize every monster in the game except like 3 are fairly weak to thunder
>Never craft anything else
lol@people using Dragon or Water
the adept attack has good motion values and good range, making it easy to hit the monster with it
it's one of the few new switch axe features that actually encourages using axe mode
>Not crafting and maintaining a weapon of every single element so you always have the perfect weapon for the monster
Never speak to me or my fifteen Lances again.
Who has the better Thunder SnS in this game? Zinogre, Lagiacrus, or Kirin?
Is there a good Sleep / Para prowler weapon?
Zinogre
Also Mizu SnS is great, if you don't craft SnS of every element then you're bad.
Except Ice, it's not very important
Astalos. 50% fucking affinity with oil.
No no, not the training one. I remember doing that but was there not a normal quest to hunt it that was different? I just remember stopping after that.
i have mh4u on 3ds
ive played it for like 5 hours now
how do you people get into this shit it's boring as fuck
I do that with Lances too, but then I end up using Brachy lance most of the time anyways.
Literally this>he uses Sns
>he doesnt have every single element readily available
>he isnt the avatar
garbage sns user senpai
>Sleep
Malfestio Umbrella
Haven't found a good para weapon yet but I'm just at the end of LR
lol
Literally the only use for it is Brachydios, who's not even that weak to Water, and Dinovaldo, who already takes like 15 thunder damage.
>Grinding the same monsters as the last game for the sake of grinding
>that fucking double hit aerial hammer move
HNNNNNNG
I even craft Lances that I know I won't be using.
It's something to work towards and draws out my enjoyment of the game. The weapon is its own reward.
>wasting everyone's time in the hall waiting for your ass to go change equipment every time something different gets posted
Just get a status or blast and ready up at the gate.
I just made a good raw + sharpness weapon for myself and kept upgrading it. Its Dios, but damn if I don't have to make three million weapons and switch for every hunt.
>tfw had a SA and CB for every element and status except sleep, fuck gog in 4U
feels like a waste now
all that time waiting for the G metal Raths to complete my fire weapons
all those elder dragon gems
fuck
The hunt is its own reward. The weapon you use is irrelevant.
IT'S TIME
I'm always the first one ready anyway. I really don't know what takes people so long. Maybe the N3DS loading times makes that much of a difference.
>Foud a Hearing +5 with three slots and a Evasion +6 with 2 slots
Oh fucking baby, thank you RNGesus
Early gen monsters are pretty shit guys
Every ___-drome is not fun or interesting to fight
When the fuck does Amatsu pop up? Just got to HR7 and wondering where that faggot is. I want to fight him since I haven't played P3rd.
>they'll never come back
There is no justice.
>looking through quests
>FUCKING CEPHADROME IS IN THIS GAME
I've got an old 3DS and I'm always the last person loading into the hub when returning from a quest. That could be the connection itself but playing locally with a friend who has the N3DS I can tell his loading is a bit faster.
Retains her role as a lesser Plesioth. Because Plesioth is back and she's a fucking nightmare.
>Instant tailwhip which covers a radius of 15 feet and kills you in two hits
>New hipcheck designed to fuck Adept users
>Doesn't even leave the water after sonic bombs
Why does Capcom keep bring back all the shit monsters? Is it the jap fans afraid of change?
heavy bow shots don't have a max crit range, so any distance (other than very close) do the full 150% damage
they also do 20% more break damage
>can't jump straight to your house from the touch screen like in 4U
If they make an improvement why don't they fucking keep it in the next game? If MH5 doesn't have the remove all decorations option at the item box that Gen has I'm gonna be mad as hell.
