Worst game release of all time?

>spend more time updating game than playing it

>10gb for 2 level summer rehashes
>2 hours download time
>45 minutes gameplay total

also

>wait 1 month for new level
>2 hours down time
>1.30 hour gameplay

add 15 minutes steam updates to those down-times

Not even MGS3 is good enough to warrant an episodi release... who the fuck plays a 2hour level and takes a month break before the next level?

I agree with you with everything but what type of shithole internet takes 2 hours to download 10gb of data.

It's actually pretty good senpai. Try lighten up a bit, the levels are great and doing them in different ways gives a lot of playtime.

Release model it has really is fucking stupid tbqh. I love the game and think it's the best Hitman ever but come the fuck on now.

I wont even bother with downloading more levels. so much hassle; i am not even sure if i regret getting this game family shared with me

release model sucks but it's a fun game

also if you play each mission once and have done with it you obviously don't like hitman games very much

>Episodic release date
>Pre-Order Exclusives
>Timed content that will supposedly never come back to try to get as many people early as possible
>You can only get a bonus episode if you buy the entire thing, this is never aluded to until the moment it comes out
>Probably plenty of more jew shit to come

You know what the worst part is? The game is fucking godlike and easily my GOTY so far. It's an excellent sequel to Contracts and Blood Money. And it might turn into a colossal flop because of all of this bullshit surrounding its release. It deserves better.

for every level I have to re-learn controls coz they a month apart lol

probably IO tought that we dont pirate other games meanwhile.

their ego is probably so colossal they think their game can survive thru a flop episodic release and that people will keep giving a fuck about new levels

I agree with most of what you said but:
>1:30 hour gameplay
Nah, son.

>Episodic game is released
>have to wait a year until I can play the game

Fuck episodic games. All it does is make the game worse.

Hitman is about the only episodic game I can think of that isn't shit, and even so Hitman would be a fuck load nicer to play without it being episodic.

>45 minutes gameplay total
>1.30 hour gameplay

>and even so Hitman would be a fuck load nicer to play without it being episodic
On one hand, I agree, on the other I do think that the fact this is episodic is making me play more of each episode. I would have probably just blitzed through them if they all came out at the same time.

Episodic is not what's wrong with the new Hitman, it's the jew bullshit surrounding it.

Not everyone is autistic user.

>it's the best Hitman ever
cmon senpai

It might be by the time we get all episodes. And I say this as someone whose favorite game of all time is BM

If we get the next 3 levels at a Sapienza level of quality, I could see it.

it's true, Hitman is an upgraded Blood Money.

Looks neat. Can't wait to play it when it's released.

This guy has the right idea. You don't buy it until everything is out.

So the full experience is 39 yuros on gmg right now, should I? I loved BM.

they need to fix weapons popping into existence, this is my biggest complaint
in the old games he'd try to holster weapons behind his back or to the side, now it just vanishes and re-appears when you holster

Many animation transitions look half-baked now in general. I guess that's because it's essentially an early access game.

You get one tutorial level, three huge levels and three smaller levels, two of which are variations of the large ones. There's plenty of content and replayability but there's always online DRM and the whole episodic release thing.

I got the full experience for $24 and I'm enjoying the game as it releases

If you can get it as cheap as I have, do it.

Ayyyyyy.

animation need work and the fact that you can hide an enitre shotgun or sniper rifle in your pants pockets

But you cannot hide large weapons in your pockets, that was an Absolution thing.

No you can't. You put them on your back and they are visible.

So when's that GOTY edition coming out? Have they said how many more levels they are making?

I love hitman but can't support this bullshit, especially if I'm missing out on tons of content for not buying it in time. What a crock of shit

Three large levels and one more bonus levels are coming, it should be done around December if they stay on schedule which I doubt.

Is the game broken by Instinct mechanics?

How many levels are there now?

Not at all, Instinct is completely optional now.

>Tutorial
>Second tutorial which is more like a full-fledged level and a fun one too
>Paris
>Sapienza
>Bonus Sapienza
>Marrakesh
>Bonus Marrakesh

Six locations (Plus two tutorial locations) with eleven levels total.
January 2017 is when they plan to release the full game.
If it sells well, they'll go for Season 2, so we can expect more episodes from that next year for what I assume would be the price of another game.

They added holstering animation ~2 month ago

I'll wait for the complete release
Imagine if you were playing Blood Money but you have to stop playing for a month every time you finished a level.

Doesn't sound so bad to me if it means I'd play it earlier. Although, of course, that would be impossible back in the pre-DLC days.

No.

Hey at least it's way better than Absolution

Thailand and Japan WILL be good levels.

I can safely say it's about Contracts level already. It's already in a close call as the second best Hitman game. It's a very good game, shame about everything surrounding it's publishing.

I just want a new map. They're taking way too much time with Thailand and Marakesh was just plain boring. And because I chose to buy new maps as they come out instead of paying upfront the whole price, I didn't get the new missions on the maps already released. Really shitty move on IO's part, if you ask me.

That seems pretty tame. I mean, as I understand it the levels are bigger and all. But even so Blood Money had 12 not counting the tutorial.

That is the one thing bugging me, why cant I have a duffle bag for my big guns?

IO claims they're "working on" a briefcase. At least this time around you can actually make use of the guns without alerting everyone if you wear a guard disguise.

I'd say it's already second best purely because the levels are just that open and expansive. Even BM didn't have that many assassination setups.

I don't want to sjill, but BM have some pretty forgetable level and din't have a contract mode.

Sniping people fishing from atop the sapienza bell tower is comfy way to spend the day

Really? I thought every level was really unique and had a nice little twist to them that kept them from getting to stale and samey.

Half the fun of the game on my first play through was just finding out what the new level is gonna be since every one felt so special.

Well, 11 if you don't count the tutorial and the mission at the end that is just you shooting people.

11 is the number of levels Hitman 6 will have by early 2017, although that is counting the tutorial level.

My Canadian internet will take about 5 hours to do that

Isn't it 7 unique levels not counting the first tutorial?

Or did I misunderstand the bonus part?

7 unique missions, 8 if you count the tutorial (which is more of a mission than the Blood Money tutorial was) plus 3 bonus missions.

The bonus missions are smaller than the main missions, but they do feel extremely different from their main counterparts. The location is the shell but over half of everything inside it is completely different. Completely different models, patrol routes, conversations, targets, ways of assassinating, etc.

The extra missions might as well be in different places.

Not that guy but while I agree that BM levels were consistently good without outright garbage like Hidden Valley or Tunnel Rat, some were pretty annoying to play through.

>Flatline
>Death on the Mississippi
>Amendment XXV

Great game, fuck off OP.

What is the online-only situation? Do they still lock off all your unlocks until you connect online?

just played it today, no they didnt

how the fuck?

I just marathoned the witcher trilogy on the hardest difficulty, did every fucking sidequest and discovered everything and it took me 258 hours

I agree with you on Flatline and Ammendment XXV, but I will forever defend Death on the Mississippi.

It's a really good level that gets way too much shit. Some people need to git gud :^)

Throwing people over the railing several times in quick succession gets old fast.

Yeah, you can't play escalations, elusive targets or contracts (well, obviously) without being online. Also, you can't use your unlocks. You can't even have a Sniper Rifle if you're offline.

They have made it better when it disconnects on you, though. Now rather than just straight up booting you out of the game, you get the option to reconnect or wait and reconnect later and the game moves on as if you just paused it.

Some people just have that sort of autism strain that allows them to do the same things over and over again and never feel bored.

What is wrong with flatline?

>can't even use sniper rifle if offline

what the everliving absolute fuck

even jews wouldn't do this

Retrieving Smith every time is annoying. I actually really like the atmosphere of the level but it's also very linear.

Idk why people complain about stuff but still do them. If you didn't like the release model you didn't have to buy it at release. I'll myself wait for the full game to be out, but that takes patience and lots of people are lacking thereof

>Paying episodically costs more than buying the whole thing in one go
>"Exclusive" events that just punish those people who didn't buy the game right away
>Always-online game that basically cripples your experience if servers are down

Not getting the game until these problems are fixed. At some point, these major companies have to realize that always-online DRM will just hurt everyone when the game's servers inevitably shut down. People may be playing fine now, but what about when old consoles are put to the wayside and the game becomes a relic?

What would people have said if you could only access all the weapons in Doom while being connected online? Or if Banjo-Kazooie had a few levels that only appeared a few months in 1999 and then were never rereleased ever?

It has the same problem as Amendment XXV. It's way too linear and basically only has one or two solutions to it.

since when has pre order bonus/timed exclusives not been included in the inevitable GOTY/deluxe version sooner or later?

Hopefully they'll patch the Always Online DRM out when it stops being relevant and the game is like a decade old. That's what I'd do, anyways.

I suppose.

I like it because it's sort of the introduction to more colorful assassinations that go beyond stuff like shooting them with the silenced baller.

there's a first for everything

guess I'll be pinning my hopes on dishonored and deus ex

If IO are smart, they'll have the Pre-Order DLC, the Elusive Targets and all bonus stuff available when the game is finished.

If they actually have that content never come back like they are stubbornly promising, then they really dun goofed.

>some people have autism that allows them to do the same thing over and over

What like everyone? Do you live in the real world? Everyones day to day life is repetition till the day you die user.

ok

Kojima thinks episodic gaming is the future, he might be right

Hitman is incredibly replayable precisely because you aren't always doing the same stuff. There are a million different ways to go about it.

yeah I would be really surprised. But even if thats the case, there is still a brilliant Hitman game to play but people love complaining more than vidya

Well. Most people don't do that for recreation.

Even so 300 hours is just silly for a game that isn't even complete.

There is bound to be massive amounts of repetition in those 300 hours, even in a game that is replayable.

Or someone patches it in themselves. It's only a matter of time until modding catches up.

Either way, not buying until the online-only stuff is reverted or the supposedly temporary events all return. Or if the retail version drops to $20. Whichever comes first.

Most hobbies I can think of will have the user doing something over and over and over.

Yeah. The keyword being hobbies. Hitman is a single game in a hobby.

You're right, but it would still sour me on it.

Getting all challenges, going for escalations, messing with contracts, failing wacky SA runs and redoing them my 299 hours of playtime went by in a breeze, my man.

The worst part is they deicded to scrap doing the half game thing and then decided to do it anyway but worse. Genius way to get people excited.

Well. Good for you. Just you know, realize that most people don't like the play the same game over and over again so much to some it feels a bit lacking in content.

>

dude my fourth world american internet is a blazing fucking fast 3 megabits, thats right

1.2 gigs an HOUR son

Then wait until full release.

I have a very short patience for playing games. I'm not into Minecraft, I'm not into rogue-likes, I'm not into simulation games, I hate 99% of Open World games. I probably have like 20 hours total in all of these games.

Hitman just has the most variety out of any game ever. It's why it gets so many hours out of me.

i can't wait for final release
i don't want wait half year for all missions

I am.

I'm happy for you user. You found your niche.

Really user?

Yes?

Really? What is it that youre even saying?

Same. Plus getting one mission per month means I get to have time to master each mission without having to be worried about the next one. It's comfy 2bh

Yeah, BM is my GOTYAY. And Hitman 6 is not too far behind it, it might even surpass it.

Still pissed off that the summer episodes were only for people who already bought the full game and not the people who already bought Sapenzia and Marrakesh.

They never mentioned bonus episodes like that in their product description. This is borderline illegal

>They added holstering animation ~2 month ago
>Weapon instantly disappears or reappears

Yeah, it's jew bullshit. Apparently you'll be able to buy the episode when they're done with the third bonus level (which I imagine is the French one in the Concern that we saw some leaked screenshots of)

>what type of shithole internet takes 2 hours to download 10gb of data

every kind of shithole stuck with copper wires on adls, which reaches 12megabit down tops

>make it episodic
>punish anyone who doesn't buy it like a full game

Thanks SE. Looking forward to FFVII.
>but the game this day and this day only or else you will miss out on the ending. Unless you buy it for 5 bucks extra.

Concert, I mean.

>tfw it would take me like 20 hours to download 10gb of data

I wish I could enjoy Hitman for 300 hours. I'm actually jealous of you.
