Yeah, the combat is tighter than ever, and there's a new arena mode with combat modes such as pugilism, 2v2, elimination and 6 man free for all. You earn gold, buy equipment, earn skills, you can hire npc's to fight for you etc.
There's a dungeon update on the way as well. As of now there's starting classes for it, expanded levels with puzzels and entirely new levels.
As far as Early Access games go, this is definitely a good example of it done right

I would say so, yeah.
Depends how tolerant you are to slow updates in Early Access games. Bare Mettle are kinda slow, but the updates are good and do not take ages to come out.
Just know before going into the game that learning the combat is a BITCH, but once you git gud, the sense of mastery is amazing.
