They sure did
What, a consolation prize?
And it's $80 weaker too. What a bargain ;^)
Considering 1060 is mostly for 1440p, most people don't care
Sapphire: Grater Edition
Only 250$, win a free bag of potatoes!
>1060 is for 1440p
don't make me laugh.
Pretty sure a 1060 is 970 performance.
>>Sup Forums
and the 970 can't handle 1440p unless you're playing indie trash
>amd won
please amd never win anything
>$80 less
Kid, you are comparing msrps
Spoiler alert, you can't by any of the new cards from any vendor for msrp.
It's 50FPS for most games maxed.
The 970 was always a 1080p/60fps card. It didn't even reach that 100% of the time. Plus games are going to get more complex going forward anyway.
Cool, tell me when graphics actually look like they're improving again and not just dropping frame rate for minuscule detail.
>50fps
Choppy garbage
The 480 is $200 at Newegg.
The 1060 is $250.
>hes not getting two rx480s to play tomb raider at 144hz with TressFX
fag detected.
not cucking me im getting a ps4neo
Because of the lack of memory.
then you're already cucked since the neo has a weaker 480 and the same jaguar cpu
The same 1.6GHz processor? Source?
In the US, perhaps. In Yuropoorean prices Nvidia won.
Probably not the best thread to ask, but which 1060 model should I get?
same processor clocked at 2.1ghz iirc
It's on average a teensy bit faster than the 980 actually. Not sure where you pulled that 970 meme from. Perhaps from AdoRedTV?
nice source
tbqh I'd purchase the card that can go so far as to offer whats more likely a performing start of a new race of beginnings so long as it too hast to face new features out for dinner go more like so far as decided.
not him but stop being such massive a retard, it took 3 seconds to find
eurogamer.net
google it retard, it's not hard to find
>can only be used for gaming
According to several big retailers the release of the 1060 actually boosted the sales of the 480 and the 1070.
Seems like people were expecting more from it and either went with the cheaper option or just said fuck it and got a 1070 for a hundred bucks more.
>ds3
>mgsv
>wolfenstein
>indie trash
3.5 was just a meme. My 970 does 1440p @60FPS on all games i play
>
Those people probably planned on buying those cards anyways but waited to see if the 1060 would be a better value.
EVGA if you can, I guess. You'll end up paying premium tho.
what's up with this "___ GPU IS FOR ____ RESOLUTION" horseshit that's popped up in the past year or so? it's the dumbest fucking way to compare performance of GPUs. it makes no sense.
it's entirely possible for a game running at 1024x768 to be bottlenecked by a 1080 and it's entirely possible for a 560ti to run something at 4k/60fps
;^)
So the 1060 is better?
Better than what?
RX480.
Need to upgrade my shitty 760.
10/10
They're actually the same performance.
Not really. They're about the same give or take nvidia or amd games. I guess the difference being the 480 has 2gb more vram and won't be gimped like the 1060 will 2 years from now. There's also that dx12/vulkan wild card that might make the 480 pull ahead.
I'm also a 760 user but I'm waiting for the 490 or the first HBM2 card
>pcworld
docs.google.com
About 14% faster overall. Roughly equal in DX12 games, though half of those are AMD sponsored games currently.
Somewhat more efficient (RX 480 ~ 160W, 1060 ~ 120W), meaning the card will probably run cooler and quieter. Seems to overclock a bit better too.
techpowerup.com
techpowerup.com
Some overclocking results. 480 strix only got about 3% extra from additional overclocking on top of the 3% the factory OC gave it over the reference card. The MSI 1060 got about 15% extra performance on top of the 3% from factory OC.
Power in pic.
what are you guys aiming to get?
1070
I just got my 1060 and I really like it.
>Average frame rate
>Lower = better
Does anyone read these
same, I upgraded from a 750 ti and the difference is boner inducing
1060 as soon as I can. Anyone know when Best Buy is getting them in stock?
I'm 99 % set on a 1060. I just dunno what model to get. I hear good things bout EVGA but they won't stock those until like august and I can't really wait that long.
looking like r9 nano, whatever strong itx card I can get
>it's entirely possible for a game running at 1024x768 to be bottlenecked by a 1080
Wait, what game would do that? Not saying you're wrong, just wondering which game would bottleneck a 1080 at 768p res.
I got the Zotac AMP Edition and I'm pretty happy. Got really lucky and was able to order mine in the few minutes it was available on Newegg. I also have a small form factor board so it fits really nice in my case.
looking like 1070 mini
RX 490
1080, 1070, even 1060, all still have stock issues and inflated prices. How did NVIDIA screw it up so badly?
rx 480 nitro
Do you not know how a market works?
Also never buy early. There WILL be issues, and as partners start offering more SKU's you can buy exactly what you need, instead of "one size fits all" reference designs.
So, what should I add or upgrade next?
The prices of current cards means absolutely nothing.
You can search for rx 480s and get nothing but "out of stock" on most sites. And when you do find one in stock they're not selling for the ~$200 to ~$300 that they're supposed to, but for ~$400.
Same thing with the 1060s. The only ones in stock are being sold for above their intended price.
The manufacturers might as well market their cards as costing $25 for all it matters, because at the end of the day they'll be selling everything above the marketed prices.
A stand alone audio card of course.
>1070 just arrived
>new processor to accompany it was delayed
Let me use it already so I can regret my purchase and be done with it, for fucks sake.
Just bought the 1080
Why the fuck are there fanboy threads for graphics cards?
I already have a 1080
Who cares about low end cards?
nintendo fanboy threads are allowed on Sup Forums, why not grafix cards?
Juvenile tribal mentality. People are innately drawn towards forming groups, even in anonymous settings. Your team is shit and my team is the best.
Even when it's something as stupid as components and PC hardware people of a certain age will do this.
It is a part of growing up.
People find solidarity in the most mundane aspects of life. Like consumer grade computer hardware.
This problem has only been exacerbated in the age of the internet.
The 1060 is a 2GB card? Or is speccy fucking up and it's actually 4GB?
I don't get it either. I mostly got the 1060 myself because it was the first AIB card out and available for purchase in my price range.
1060 is 6gb user
Picked up the rx 480 at launch
You PC memers can't fool me. I'm getting an xbox.
At the very least Nintendo offers different games, graphics, and whatever.
Video cards are literally just the stepping stones of games, you buy based on your budget and needs.
>$80 cheaper
They are the same price in the UK, sucks to be American. 1060 is the better card and for the same money.
485 if it will be a thing or a 490
depending on prices
my 290 is still decent
STILL WAITING ON VEGA
Its 6gb. Speccy just doesn't read certain cards right for some reason. GPU-Z shows real stats.
Okay.
It really does come down to like we said People want to compete with each other by nature and form groups over very silly things. Even when devotion to a specific hardware manufacturer is a worse outcome for them.
It also doesn't help that this is Sup Forums and hardly anyone means what they say. There are plenty of people that don't even own a PC but just shitpost endlessly at any opportunity.
Get a PS4 instead, the Xbox One is terrible
Is Palit any good? I've literally never heard of them before
people get dumber
shocking
>560ti
>running any modern not indiegarbage at 4k/60fps
good thing I bought into the powa of the playstation
>Average frame rate
>Lower = better
???????????
Waiting for vega, because it gives me time to finish my PS3 backlog, before I go back to playing on PC. Also, my HD7850 can play DS3 at 60fps, so it's not like I really need to upgrade immediately.
as someone who fell for the meme
It really isn't.
...
That's why you use a site like this in the US, make it notify you when things are stocked and then nab one for the normal retail price.
nowinstock.net
Most stores in other countries allow you to order even if they're out of stock in my experience, and you'll get your shit when they restock.
I currently have a gtx660ti, so anything new would be a huge improvement. I`m planning on getting a rx480 for the good lifespan and decent price.
