It was all smooth sailing until I hit Champion, then it was connection errors out the ass. It should not have taken me two hours to go up to King.

There was always going to be a "last splatfest", at least it comes while the is still somewhat popular, not years from now when it's absolutely forgotten and nobody even cares.

Can confirm. Team Callie was free as fuck yesterday, but Team Callie today is actually putting up some resilience.

I've always been preparing myself for the "last Splatfest"; the few times I've missed them, I've always been at least a little salty. Fucking hell, the Pokemon Splatfest was during MAGfest and I was half tempted to pay for an Uber to go home and at least hit Defender or Champion before going back.

But I feel Splatfests came to an end way too soon. I would have liked one, hell, maybe 2-3 more before calling it quits. All we know of the NX release date is that it'll be in 2017. At least end around February-March 2017.

What I don't understand is how continuing to run splatfests would cut into the developers time whatsoever. It's not like they have to do any sort of work, all of these scripts are already built. They just have to mark a date on the calendar for when the servers go into splatfest mode, and localizers write a few lines of dialogue. Push the update and boom. I would have thought they could easily keep these going until spla2n actually comes out, and the 'last splatfest' would have been a sendoff right before 2 comes out

Team Callie has been pretty trash. They'll pull a win on me every now and then, but I feel I've won so many more games against them. Hell, I stopped playing after getting into a Marie vs Marie game.

of course the wii u is going to stop getting support. the NX is out soon and the wii u isnt even a successful console. all their dev teams are making NX games

but why do you think the next console AC will come out before splatoon 2? I think the mobile game will release to tide people over, and splatoon 2 will attempt to launch soon after release so that the system can get off to a strong start. It did ridiculously well on the WiiU's tiny install base, it's the most successful new IP Nintendo has had in a long time, why wouldn't they want to keep pushing it? They need all guns firing for the NX, or else it (and their entire console business) will die.

Which looks better at E3 - a team-based shooter, or "another comfy animal crossing game that's essentially the same as the last 4"

Don't get me wrong, I want both eventually, but if I were Nintendo I would be pushing out another splatoon asap.
