>to put in perspective, the Playstation Vita is the first time Sony pulls a Nintendo: release a perfectly capable product in a market where the expection is already low, or the audience doesn't even exists to begin with
To put in perspective...
The PS VIta looks like it'd be a very comfortable thing to play, I have thought about getting one, but then I have no idea what I'd play on it aside from some niche shit.
Also, the fucking proprietary memory card prices. How the fuck did they think that'd be a good idea?
vita failed for the same reason the WiiU failed. Bad marketing and shitty games being packaged with it. The first few years were amazing in terms of releases.
It's not super comfy, but you can buy grips for it to help. I have ones that turn it more into a console controller, complete with triggers.
>tfw no MH4U/Gen on vita
that would've saved it I swear
Same here, word by word. The lack of CFW doesn't help either.
Would have sold 1-2m more.

It's an issue Sony has had ever since they released their first digital cameras with the memory sticks that were a hell of a lot more expensive than the alternatives of compact flash and sd cards at the time. You never noticed it for the PSP because by the time the system really hit its stride, there were 3rd party companies making them as well as adapters that came into existence for the much cheaper sd cards. My guess the main reason why we haven't seen any Chinese knockoff vita memory is because it's only being used in the vita, an unpopular system, while memory sticks were in use in digital cameras as well during the time where everyone had to own one of them.
Why do they cost so much more though?
You can find a 64GB SD card for under $20 right now, but a 32 GB Vita card is $60
that is just sony price fixing
WiiU isn't capable in any sense of the word.
It's literal piece of shit.
Seems like a dumb gamble to milk a bit of extra cash out of Vita owners, at the cost of giving a lot of people a good reason to stay away from the system entirely.
>Also, the fucking proprietary memory card prices. How the fuck did they think that'd be a good idea?
It's a massively overblown problem because of game hoarders. I've had a 16GB card from the day I bought my Vita and never felt like I was lacking space. Trick is to uninstall games you finish.
Both PSP and Vita are infinitely more comfortable to hold than DS and 3DS, respectably. Unless you have baby hands or buy XL versions of the latter two.
It's not just a Vita thing but pretty much all Sony electronics stuff are priced higher than their competition mainly because they still have a lot of brand recognition built up from the days where their name meant quality.
Nah, it would've been a game changer. At least for Japan where Vita is already doing well even if it is in 3DS' shadow forever. Vita's problems stem from its western market.
>I don't understand what the word "literal" means
*metaphorical piece of shit
>proprietary UMD hurt PSP, hardware-wise superior portable device of its time
>proprietary SD cards hurt Vita, hardware-wise superior portable device of its time
Sony really didn't learn anything.
Vita is amazing AS LONG AS YOU KNOW WHY YOU'RE GETTING IT. So much of the butthurt surrounding comes from people who rightfully expected more than Chinese waifu wars games.
That is the real disappointing thing.
I'm happy with the 3DS library, but man would I prefer if I could play games like those on something like the Vita that has a half decent screen and no 2nd hinged screen weighing the system down up top. Minor complaint there, I know, but they make a difference in comfort.
fuck you, i still regret exchanging my 3ds xl for a vita!
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE JUST FUCKING RELEASE A BETTER AND EASIER WAY TO CRACK THE FUCKING THING AND PLAY ISOS REEEEEEEEEEE
Its funny how "grown adults" throw 300+ dollars at this thing and get mad when they find out it doesn't have games they want afterwards.
In a weird sense, for me the Vita is the most Nintendo-Esque Console, Sonys has ever made .
The Main-Menu alone is very playful with the calming music, the "rip the page off to close the program" gesture and small playful details, like the icons stretching and waggling, when you navigate through the pages.
wew
Are you asking not cheaper memory cards but free games?
It makes me want to cry when I see Monster Hunter stuck in 240p.
>Monster Hunter
vita is amazing if you are not eop.
I have been thinking about getting a Vita for a while now, but I keep seeing games for it getting ported to PC so I'm not so sure now.
>there is still no way to natively hack the vita to back up your games to the memory card
>there is still no flashcard
fucking christ, the hack for the damn thing have been shit and it's starting to seem like it's going to be another ps3 in terms of the CFW scene
>eop
what are you talking about, shonen?
Maybe when the online is dead
Nintendo products are always faulty shit AND have a existing audience. You got it completely wrong.
>nintendo
>faulty
at least they deliver quality products mate
It'd probably be a better buy for the games that don't get localized.
>No charger
GJ there
