Digimon world
What are your thoughts on the game.
I'm sad that this is the only game of it's kind and I would like to see more monster raising sims.

i actually just started playing this 5 minutes ago. the opening fmv is so ridiculous looking.
what the fuck does the "do you have friends?" button do at the start?
I remember playing part 3's card game mote than the actual game.
I wonder if the japanese version could link up to the digivice or friends memory cards.
Definitely one of the best and most unique digimon games even though it is buggy as hell and can be really tedious if you don't know what you're doing. I have all the medals except most of the arena related ones.
it's a filler question. It changes how the second question is presented, which decides whether you start with Agumon or Gabumon
Play digimon world 3 the PAL version OP I promise you'll love it
One of those games that you can spend easily 300 hours to finish it at 100% if you don't know how to play/look at guides
One of my favourites of all time, still re-play it from time to time.
>Monster raising sim
Are you following crowns?
I liked 2 more, and it's a terrible game by any objective measure
>I'm sad that this is the only game of it's kind and I would like to see more monster raising sims.
Re Digitize does everything better, take off your nostalgia goggles
I have the USA version and I hated it.
Fucking sucks that all games after 1 became generic RPGs
Re digitize is the biggest piece of shit I ever played, a shit plot, no memorable locations, finding digimons was fucking cake and had literally 0 challenge.
The only fun part was the arena.
>Re Digitize
OP here,Did this game final get a translation?Been wanting to play it forever.
I don't have nostalgia,I had played 3 and all the DS games way before I played world 1.
what is crowns?
crowns is a game being developed by a dude in the game dev threads on Sup Forums
youtube.com
It's rough but it's starting to come together.
what is crown?
It has nowhere near the amount of charm of the original.
>get 10 points in curling
The PSP version has been translated and plays very similarly
more ange-woahman
What happens then?
>PSP version
Time to download more ROMs!
Fucking dicks thinking they can charge 70$
For digimon world 3 because its "classic ps1" now when I bought for 13$ when gamestops were getting rid of their ps1 games.
waaay ahead of you
PSP version of re:digitize*
>that all games after 1 became generic RPGs
DMW2 was a roguelike
DMW3 was an RPG but the digivolution mechanic spiced it up
DMW4 is a co-op beat'em up
I knew what you meant. PSP version has less content.
thx user.
Digimon world 2&3 are a shit though
Okay? There doesn't exist a working 3DS emulator though, and no translation I know of for the 3DS game
I had the chance to get the set for 5 a piece all black label. But took a pass. Looked at the prices and went back but only found 3, then 2 without case, one was gone.
>Breeding and Fusing are two separate mechanics.
I'm down.
Yeah thats why I think 70$ is fucking outrages!
You ascend.
...
I just want another DW1 with the same aesthetics and atmosphere, Re-Digitize looks so ugly in comparison
Fun game, but damn if you don't need a guide to navigate it.
Give me the fucking source.
Nvm I read the thread.
Interesting, but the art is so... messy. I like the sprites but it seems the developer couldn't decide between emulating Game Boy, Game Boy Color or rippin Mother like most indie pixelshit.
The game woul look way better in greyscale or using a limited color palette, Super Game Boy-like.
The genetics thing is what gets me.
>the developer couldn't decide between emulating Game Boy, Game Boy Color or rippin Mother like most indie pixelshit.
What do you know, more typical fucking Sup Forums grown pixel indie garbage.
Hey, I gave up pixel indie garbage look when I couldn't get it to look right. Using model indie garbage look.
I'm currently playing redigitize. Is this worth playing?
An english patch came out the same people are also working on an english patch for the 3ds version with bonus content.
So play it on your cfw psp/3ds or emulate it.
It is okay, but not as good as World. It also gets mostly ignored by -next 0rder- while it goes ham on references to World.
End it and enjoy the shittiest plot ever but hey, it's still somewhat fun
Worth a playthough.
Not as good as the original.
Savescumming the training is near mandatory for mega forms unless you abuse restaurant
They are working on the 3ds version I heard.
They also said they are working on lost evolution fir anyine who cares
Honest opinions on Digimon World 3?
It's got that "2D PS1 JRPG" look that I really get nostalgic for...but it has garbage reviews. What were the flaws?
Never finished it. Not my kind of game, still very good.
FYI the game is notoriously glitchy. It is fun but beware. Mostly never touch the jukebox in the cafe when you get it.
Looks cool.
I'm working on a game where you start with a few small grey quadrupedal blobby being, it rapidly metamorphises in shape, size, body plan, and color depending on what it does, what you have it do, what it eats, how you treat it, how it's treated, and what sort of environment(s) all this is in. It basically evolves based on what a realistic evolutionary advantage would be, with your own influenced traits. They evolve into a more complete version of that, then they continue to grow and change (less dynamically) until they evolve into a new and complete being, with their own genetic code, they can reproduce with other fully grown beings. Kinda like chao garden, but more Digimon-ey.
Awful generic RPG grindfest with boring battles where every attack looks the same (a pink energy ball). The Sepikmon Mask quest may be the worst fetchcrap I ever played.
Nice graphics out of the battle, though and decent music.
Only for dumb children.
As a kid it required way too much grinding and good luck fighting out where the hell to go. Emulated it recently and sped it up and it was decent until the game froze.
It is just a really cookie cutter rpg, without anything special also it is really grindy.
I mean really fucking grindy.
I usually love grinding, but even I thought it was a bit much.
I liked it, because it was the only digimon game available to me as a kid.
Hypothetically, if someone modded it to be less grindy but kept everything else the same, what would you rate it?
Well it would be like a 6-7/10 game. The other issue is that it takes forever to load everything and is soooo slow.
The card minigame was pretty fucking good, the game is a solid 7/10 for me, although grindy.
Worth playing once desu
I dunno a 6/10 at the very best.
How much game would there even be left if there was no grinding?
I remember actually that I spend more time grinding than playimg the game.
Alsi the fact that there is no fast travel sucks.
5/10
Still a shit game.
but I've gotten over 10 points many times
Hasty bump before I type up an essay on Digimon World
Digimon World is a buggy game yet somehow the bugs ended up being part of its charm to me
Digimon World has problems, lots of problems. Most of my playtime was spent either grinding in the training area or grinding out encounters. Going in blind it's extremely hard to manage your Digimon's weight and hunger, god help you if you get a fucking Tyranomon before you upgrade your meat farm. Mash out your next training session before the sweat drops spawn over your Betamon's head? Enjoy your Numemon.
However, all the esoteric knowledge necessary to play the game makes it feel huge. It's so different from a normal RPG, you have no idea where the fuck the next quest NPC is going to be and you sort of just stumble around hoping to find something cool.
Very few games manage to pull of the feeling of being dropped into a strange world like Digimon World did. Even after beating it I still think about the game every so often, feeling that there's still secrets that I still haven't found. Digivolution manages not to feel random but like a mystery.
None of the other Digimon games have really replicated the charm of Digimon World. Personally the only ones I think are any good are Digimon World and Digital Card Battle.
which bugs?
i only remember the jukebox crashing the games
AS Decoder is the biggest mystery from Digimon World
Some moves are literally impossible to learn for certain mons
There's a move you can only see from the penultimate boss, MetalGreymon, but you can't learn it with a MetalGreymon of your own.
There's also a bunch of text glitches, similar to the jukebox crash, for example, you're supposed to know how to get SkullGreymon and Devimon because Myotismon tells you, but in game the text box is mostly empty
On my playthrough, I found Aruraumon on Digimon Bridge after the bridge has been fixed a long time ago.
