I recently got a New 3ds XL and this is my collection so far. What else would you recommend getting? I'm planning on getting Monster Hunter Generations soon, and maybe Bravely Default.

I seriously cant get into these new pokemon games. whats wrong with me.

Best dungeon crawlers/rpg on the 3ds or ds?

castlevania

holy fucking shit user really good taste

If you really want more pokemon go check out HG/SS and BW2.

You're more than good on Zelda, but go get Link's awakening on the eshop for another good 2d Zelda, if not the best.

For JRPG's, Bravely Default, but the last fourth of the game is fucking annoying and repetitive, but it's worth it for the ending though and then if you like that one, definitely get the first one

Check out either of the 3DS Kirby games, both are REALLY solid Kirby games, if those are your thing

If you like JRPG's, and want something that's like Pokemon but with a twist, and has a better story and difficulty with deeper mechanics, check out Shin Megami Tensei 4, but be waned, the game isn't easy by any means.

I'd personally get MH4U instead of Generations because it's more new-user friendly, but there will definitely be a bigger multiplayer base considering it's the latest game in the series.

Rune Factory 4/Animal Crossing New Leaf if that's your thing. If you're not familiar with Rune Factory, think Harvest Moon, but more weeb+deeper & more mechanics. Plus they both have a SHIT ton of content, especially RF4, Animal Crossing is more of a game that you play for 30 minutes every day.Check out some reviews if you're not fimiliar with the animal crossing series

Etrian Odyssey IV if you're into dungeon crawlers and want to make your own maps Pick up the demo first to make sure if it's your type of thing or not. (Same with SMT4 too)

You can't just say castlevania, he might get one of the 3ds ones.

Check out the DS Castlevania games, specifically Dawn of Sorrow or Portrait of Ruin

>Kid Icarus Uprising
>Mario & Luigi Dream Team

are the gameboy Zelda games (the Oracle ones) on the eshop any good? Haven't really heard much at all about them.

repetitive (i'm assuming grindy?) in JRPGs doesn't bother me unless its a stupid amount, so I'll probably definitely get Brave Default

I forgot that there'd be Kirby games on 3ds. Super Star on snes was one of my most played games growing up. I'm wondering about Yoshi's New Island too. I read it got somewhat mixed reviews, but I'm wondering since Yoshi's Island is my favourite game of all time if I'll still get a kick out of it.

I did hear that about MH4U, but I don't know how popular it is in Australia, so I dunno if I'd be able to find many players, thats why I was gonna get Generations instead.

Not a fan of past Animal Crossing games, but I've enjoyed Harvest Moon before.

thankyou heaps for the recs!

I'll check out these too. I've only ever played Symphony of the Night (which I adored) so I'll probably check out the ones on the virtual console too.

>I recently got a 3DS
>Gets 3 games from the same series and 2 games from it's predecessor

Avoid Yoshi's New Island. It ruins the story for the first game and is an inferior re-hash gameplay wise.

Definetely get Kirby though.

Piss off spicco

>literally being too stupid to follow a simple guide

I'm going to get shit for this but honestly I've put so many hours into Fire Emblem Conquest and Revelations. They're really solid games in the series, and really improved over FE: Awakening.

this is the first nintendo console i've owned since the snes, so i missed all the zelda games growing up, which is why Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were my first purchases, and since I loved Ocarina and am loving Majora's Mask so much, I decided to get the most recent handheld title in the series as well. Wanted a JRPG and DQ9 was the safest bet for quality it seemed, and I heard Platinum is better than all of the 3ds pokemon titles so I got that instead of X or Y.

The oracle games are good too, no worry

If you want another Yoshi game, check out Yoshi's Island DS. Yoshi's New Island is alright, but DS is better in almost every aspect. Adds something new, good music, graphically better too

If you like JRPG's then you'll get more than your money's worth when it comes to bravely default, don't worry.

If you don't like Animal Crossing, but you like Harvest Moon, then definitely check out Rune Factory 4. It's pretty much a deeper Harvest Moon with adventure RPG mechanics. REALLY solid game.

If you like Super Star you'll definitely like Triple Deluxe or Planet Robobot. To deicde between either, pretty much ask if you want a regular default kirby experience (tripple deluxe,) or something new, with a little of the same (planet robobot)

And if you want some more personal recommendations, I gotchu

Shin Megami Tensei 4 (JRPG Dungeon Crawler)
Donkey Kong Country Returns (Pretty good platformer if you like the old DKC games)
Fire Embelm Fates/Awakening (Tacticle RPG)
Ace Attorney Trilogy (Court-based visual novel, has the first three DS games remade into one)
Final Fantasy Theatriiythm curtain call (Rhythm game with a shit-ton of content, really solid if you're a fan of the FF series)
Rhythm Heaven Megamix (rhythm game that has all of the best tracks from the previous)
Luigi's Mansion 2 (If you like the GC one, you'll like this)
Kid Iccarus Uprising (third person shooter/on-rail shooter; if you can get passed the awkward controls, you have one of the BEST games on the 3ds.)
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeo/ Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Sky (dungeon crawler Pokemon games, avoid gates to infinity, that game's trash)
DON'T get Paper Mario: Paper Jam It's also awful

Mario and Luigi Paper Jam is good if you like the Mario and Luigi series

> I heard Platinum is better than all of the 3ds pokemon titles so I got that instead of X or Y.

You made a good decision. Heart Gold and Soul Silver and Black and White 2 are also probably the best in the entire franchise. Don't worry about playing the original Black and White games, the story isn't that big of a deal, and in general, the sequals improve upon the originals in every way

How did they fuck up Disgea's soundtrack so badly on the ds? Shit is unplayable for me.

>DON'T get Paper Mario: Paper Jam It's also awful

Fuck, I didn't mean paper jam, I meant sticker star is trash

Paper Jam is bregood

animal crossing

I think they're nice little MIDI remixes. Then atain, I haven't really gotten to play the Playstation versions.

This shit better be good if you think it's better than the EO/SMT games.
