user lets take a look at our planet, as we can see the weird shit lives in the water, everything on land is structured in a way. Plants and Fungus however are so weird we almost thought they were objects at a time so of course alien plants and fungus can look really weird but the land animals must have some structure to their form so blobular land aliens are impossible unless the gravity is low enough but if thats the case then you are better off with limbs.
